Family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) first visit to this very nice steak house. It was very good, only a few things of note that had me rate 4 of 5. My wife and I enjoyed a top shelf Old Fashion that was garnished nicely and tasted great. We started with an appetizer and salad (the Calamari, and Caesar) and both were really good. The Caesar salad was enough for us all to split with enough for each so as to not to spoil dinner. The calamari was tasty and crispy with a nice flavor. Our main dishes were (10oz Filet, Steak Fritta, and a 22oz Delmonico Ribeye - all medium rare). All were nicely prepared to the temp requested (nothing under or over cooked). The Truffle and Peppercorn sauces ordered were a bit on the cold side, but tasted ok. Sides ordered were Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and Mushrooms. The mushrooms were fantastic and devoured by our group of four quickly. The spinach was good, however it and the mashed potatoes did seem to be portioned slightly smaller than we've seen at other high ends (i.e. served in a bowl one might see French onion soup served in) so a party of 4 adults with larger appetites might require a few to go around. Our server was exceptionally pleasant and we appreciated her patience and help packing our left overs up. I think everyone enjoyed the 10oz Filet and Steak Fritta the best, both very good cuts of meat. The Delmonico was slightly grisly, but had nice flavor and was a sizable portion. The desert options looked nice, but we skipped this time around. We didn't care for the credit card surcharge (4%) which seems higher than any other restaurant and an unnecessary ding given the prices already being paid ($15 per drink, $70 ribeye, etc.) hence a non-perfect rating, but overall, we had a nice outing, and could see a...
Read moreDecember 2025 - And we’re back for dinner. Tonight there was a Texas sourced wagyu sirloin and it was Excellent! Crisp, char crust, perfectly cooked rare and the most flavorful steak I have eaten! Definitely recommend if it’s in your budget. And the glass of wine suggested by the server was the perfect choice for me. Kudos and my thanks to the staff!
The entrees were very good! The steaks cooked as requested, flavorful and tender, and the rack of lamb as well. The sides are generous, each one enough to share. This was our second visit and this time we brought a larger group since our first visit was good. The bar serves an excellent beverage, and the staff are well schooled in their craft. There were a couple of unfortunate missteps by the kitchen. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing as though enough was too little and too much was barely enough. The croutons were mixed into the lettuce and were like cubes of wood soaked in dressing and not nearly as flavorful as that sounds. The raspberry sorbet was very good, sweet, tart and full of flavor. The other 3 desserts at our table were much less impressive. They looked good but tasted of little. Whoever told the kitchen to call those doughy lumps of deep fried dough “profiteroles” was very far off the mark! The two chocolate desserts were not memorable at all. If you’ve ever been on a Carnival cruise, then you’ve had desserts like these - great design and no substance.
Our recommendation is go for the entrees and sides. Include a beverage from the bar or one of the many great wines available and skip the desserts. The service is on par with the great entrees and your evening should...
Read moreOK, we’ve been waiting to try this place as we typically go to Mortons in Jacksonville or the capital Grille in Orlando for really nice steak out. However, not wanting to have a long drive after dinner, we gave Alexander’s prime a try for Father’s Day . And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Our server was Steve, and he was just a perfect blend of approachable and professional, and really made a difference for our dinner. The ambience was super cool… It’s basically an old house that’s converted into a restaurant. And it really feels like an eclectic, high-end steakhouse that you’d find in somewhere like Buckhead more than Daytona Beach.
As for food, we started with the bacon bites as an appetizer and they were simply spectacular. I also had chopped salad which was perfect and then my son and I each had a steak. He had the aged New York strip Frite and I had the 10 ounce fillet. They were both exceptional. The sides were equally delicious and even the bread was fantastic. Then my son topped it off with the crunchy chocolate cake which in itself was super delicious, but the ice cream that came With it was some of the best we’ve ever had. Apparently, they imported directly from New York.
This is gotta be one of the best places for steak in this area And a fantastic place for dinner… Whether it’s a special occasion, a date night or you can even just grab a burger for a casual dinner. it’s definitely not cheap, but well worth it as if you’re going to go out for a special occasion or a nice dinner, it’s worth paying the extra to have...
