Pepper's Mexican Grill and Cantina — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

I've been here a few times and had a good experience, however, I came today (Friday 12/14/2018) and will NOT return. I ordred the California Chicken Burrito with the guacamole on the side.

When the food was bought to the table, I started cutting up the burrito and saw that there was 6 small pieces of chicken.

I said something to the waiter and he took it back to the cook and the cook said that's the portion. I told the waiter that it is not the portion because I came here last night (12/13/2018) and ordered the same and there was much more chicken.

The waitor returned with alot more chicken (to my surprise. I was not expecting that much).

Anyhow taking a few bites I realized the cook deliberately oversalted the chicken which caused me an immediate headache and an ache on the left side near my rib.

I did not finish eating the burrito and I'm waiting for the Manager to return to complain. (I waited for the Manager for about 50 minutes.) Even the Manager tasted a portion that was untouched by me and immediately agreed that it was oversalted. He wanted to make me a new chicken burrito but I declined for obvious reasons.

Before the Manager came to my table after waiting 50 minutes, I told the waitor that by the cook deliberately over salting my food that it caused an immediate headache. I told the waitor I have high blood pressure. He didn't seem to care at all.

I will NEVER return to this Restraunt.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING AT THIS PEPPER'S MEXICAN GRILL AT ALL. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

My response.. YES, MY VISIT TO YOUR RESTRAUNT WAS IN 2018.. WHY DO YOU EVEN QUESTION THAT?

As I said in 2018 that I will NEVER return to your Restraunt and I've told many people my experience there and that I recommend they don't give you their business..I still mean this today on April 14, 2024. YES..2024!

The only thing I hope for is that you got rid of that cook who deliberately oversalted my food. What he did back in 2018 was WRONG .. WRONG.. WRONG on...

Our waiter seemed like he was the only one in the place at lunchtime. BUT he was gracious, accurate, and friendly. At first, when we had to wait for our water, I thought things were going to go downhill. Contrary to my 1st thought, our food came out rather fast, fresh, and good. Short as the wait was, the complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. Best refried beans I ever had, and I have lived in Waco, San Antonio, and Houstin, Texas, and have had many that were like wallpaper paste. Not these! Not these! So full of flavor, velvety, and delicious. The Mexican rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My three cheese enchiladas ( a special request from what the menu offered) with tomotilla , blanco, and red sauce were good, but the tomotillo sauce was a bit salty. The enchilada with the red sauce could have had a little more sauce for me, but the sauce was very good. Going forward, I'd just stick to the red sauce because, although good, the cheesy blanco sauce on a cheese enchilada was a tad rich for me, but I wanted to try all three sauces. The one and only waiter brought me more of the red sauce for my take-home box upon my request with a smile on his face. I tasted my husband's unsweetened iced tea, and Man-oh- Man, was it ever good! The establishment was clean, nicely decorated with music that wasn't blasting. The bathrooms were immaculate, too! Definitely will go back and so glad we came across it while...

If you want BLAND FOOD, this is your place. We ordered, steak and chicken fajitas. Shrimp fajitas. Shrimp tacos. Cheese Dip. The Horchata was watered down.

Everything but the cheese dip lacked seasoning. The steak and chicken fajitas tasted WATERY. NO SEAR or Zizzle. No seasoning at ALL. When the waiter came to pick up plates, he asked if everything was good since he noticed I barely touched the food. I told him no, it lacked seasoning. I even tried putting lime and salt and it was just bland. He said he would mention it to the manager.

I was grateful for the attention and concern the waiter had and felt seen. When the second waiter came asking if we were ready for the check , I mentioned to him that I was hoping to hear from the manger regarding the food.

The waiter then came back with the check and stated that he spoke to the manager and they said that if I had a complaint to go speak with them.

They didn't even bother to come to the table to see what the problem was or just show their face.

Staff was friendly, food bland. No accountability from the managers.
