Great food, but I'm knocking off two stars for the servers' lack of awareness of other allergens in their food (including nuts). Writing this review after getting contaminated twice in one service. With something as serious as a nut allergy, the least they can do is have their staff know, on hand, if an item has nuts in it (such as almond flour in the bread or a cupcake), so people don't have to ask only to get a baffled look from the server. People who are gluten-sensitive or have celiac disease are likely going to be sensitive to other foods or have food allergies, so I find it just awful that, after double checking if a cupcake had nuts in it, the woman behind the counter then packaged my friend's and my cupcake together (one with and one without nuts). When I asked her to package them separately, she very clearly wiped her hand on her apron after touching the cupcake made with almond flour. If this was gluten instead of nuts, I know people with celiac disease would be furious.
When I asked if the vinaigrette I was getting with my salad had nuts, the server I asked gave me the ingredients. When I asked her what was in one of the specific ingredients (fig paste), she said "I don't know, we just buy it at Trader Joes," and then offered to see if there happened to be a jar in the back she could read. :/
Thankfully, my nut allergy is not so extreme that very minor cross contamination will not do more than make me sick for the day and rather itchy, but extra precautions need to be made when you're openly working with nuts and especially nut flours.
Considering this is a restaurant that touts about being an allergen-free space (yes, gluten), it surprises me that they're so lax about knowing any other ingredients. It seems like a place serving people with a life-threatening disease would understand how difficult it is to not be contaminated by an allergen and would do their best to keep their customers safe.
For the staff's lack of knowledge and the otherwise unclear safety of their food, I rate Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery/Bistro three out...
Read moreI rate this place 3 but with potential. I am gluten free visiting Tucson for the gem show. I was delighted to find a gluten free restaurant on my way to the show! The first breakfast I had, I chose the general 2 eggs over easy with house potatoes (of course), and multigrain toast. The eggs were great. PotAtoes were not; very dry, like reheated, and old tasting. Skins were not attached ! The toast was nice tasting but dry as it was not buttered, nor offered to be buttered as a choice. A very small slice of orange was on the plate. Not sure why. I am not a coffee drinker so tea was the order. No offer of milk - but it came upon request. I don’t think people drink tea here (?) I decided to give a second chance day 2 : I ordered the eggs Benedict! Super hollandaise sauce. Eggs cooked perfect. Problem: the English muffin (gf of course) was NOT TOASTED! IT WAS COLD ! Everyone knows that eggs need to spread on hot English muffins- or the yolk gets cold! Too bad !! It could have been soooo good ! Also that morning the service was extremely slow. Took me 20 min to get my food and hardly anyone in the restaurant. My tea bag and hot water was 3.50 USD and the disappointing eggs Benedict were 13.25. Also, I was a little confused when I was offered a side of mixed greens, including spinach ( I was dreaming of morning steamed spinach with my eggs) only to receive a salad. Ok, my bad but the salad was nice with a great light dressing. I want this place to improve so I can come back and eat here! I am spoiled in Montreal where food is a pleasure and amazing experience! I feel they have the place, the clientele and people who will pay for gluten free experience. Cleanliness and service were...

This all gluten-free restaurant is a true culinary gem, offering desserts that are nothing short of masterpieces. Each bite of their decadent sweets is a testament to the art of gluten-free baking, with all bread and pastries made fresh daily.
The highlight of our visit was the Greek burger. Served on a house-made pita with perfectly seasoned, grass-fed beef, every mouthful was a symphony of flavors. The freshness of the pita combined with the juiciness of the beef created an unforgettable experience.
Equally impressive was the Reuben on freshly baked gluten-free rye. The rye bread was a marvel in itself—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, providing the perfect vessel for the tangy, savory Reuben filling. Each bite was a revelation, making us grateful we discovered this spot.
