Went today to check it out, store is beautiful. Met the owners, bought some carne preparada, salsas, queso fresco and for the first time chicken chorizo. First let me say the owners are super friendly and young (good for them starting a business!). We took home a couple of pounds of marinated chuck steak and had it for dinner, cooked over coals - very very good taste, the home made marinade (not from a bottle) was flavorful but not overpowering. The salsas were fresh and hot (the way we like them) and for the first time the queso fresco wasn't SALTY! I love queso fresco but it's usually super salty, not theirs. Have not tried the chicken chorizo (breakfast tomorrow morning). Overall it's a 5 out of 5 for us. Can't wait to go back and try something from the little restaurant...
Read moreNo bathrooms? The guy by the meat area when I asked about bathrooms he said "I think they're busy right now" which didn't make Sense to me. So I continued to shop for the mole ingredients I wanted. Then I asked the cashier and she said they do not have any bathrooms in here. This place looks like an overpriced mart trapping gringos with the authenticity look. Price for my mole ingredients seemed way overpriced. I left without buying anything. I didn't felt like paying for overpriced products at a place that didn't even let me use a bathroom. But apparently there's a restaurant and kitchen here too, could I have used the bathrooms then? Or do they they make their...
Read moreThis place just opened, so for the people with the poor reviews complaining about opening time and bathrooms, give them a chance to get started. Everyone we talked to was extremely kind and easy to talk to. Having said that, my wife and I were very excited for the opening and pleasantly surprised with how many items they offer. The carniceria has numerous items to choose from. The taqueria also has a full menu. Came back for a gallon of menudo (which is offered Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). So happy to have such a great place closer to...
