As a neighbor to this branch I've been coming to this store for over a year. That being said, while enjoying my coffee this morning after a tragic fatal accident occurred on Oracle Rd. I witnessed a very uncomfortable series of exchanges initiated by the MOD (blonde / female) who claimed she had stopped on her way to open the store and spoken with ADOT. During the hour I was there I witnessed her regailing the details of the accident SEVEN times as if it were the plot of a movie she had just seen rather than a real life tragedy which resulted in the loss of a human life as well as one of our neighbors in this community. She sounded thrilled at the excitement (laughing and joking at certain details) and "shared" the story with anyone patronizing the store whether they asked or not. At one point I heard this woman who was clearly the manager on duty speculate that the death was probably "just a homeless person from the wash". The lack of humanity in the series of behaviors was utterly disheartening and the subsequent thrill / power complex this employee seemed to derive from the telling was just plain disgusting. Most of the people she spoke with were noticably uncomfortable too and never was she actually asked for information. At one point I witnessed her go outside to clean the patio whereupon her coworkers made several comments about the behavior stating that they too found her behavior innapropriate. I would understand a simple breakdown of fact but this was clearly a repeated effort to get an audience at the expense of a human life. I find this behavior very unethical in a business who claims ethical sourcing of its products and I urge this store to follow up on their sensitivity training. Tragedy should never be recounted as idle gossip and certainly not in a business in a great town...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I don't do this. I usually just grin and bear it. But every once in a while you just have to say something. I was at this location today at 12:15p. Only one other customer was there, he was seated enjoying his order. The young woman , unfortunately I didn't catch her name - curly hair, glasses, and a ponytail, took my order. She was pleasant. I ordered an Iced Tea and muffin. Got my tea in the usual time. Mentioned that I ordered a muffin as well and he said it was coming. Twenty minutes later... still waiting. Went back up to the counter and told the woman who took my order that I was still waiting. "I'll go check." But before "checking" started restocking and when she did make it down to where to food was being bagged neglected to even ask about the muffin. So I went down to the other end of the counter to ask. I was told I would have to wait because food was served in the order it was ordered (which I would have to imagine includes drinks which I had already had received) and they were also handling the drive thru orders. I told her I had been waiting 20mins. No "sorry for the delay" just a "WELL DO YOU WANT A REFUND". No just my muffin. The young man finally filling the order did apologize. Again, a muffin. Tongs. Bag. Done. Also FYI there only two cars at drive thru when we arrived. Sorry for the venting, clearly her snippy, disinterested "customer service" pushed a button. I'm sure there are several other Starbucks within a stone's throw. I'd and...

Has management changed here?
