MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Oro Valley

We used to love this place and were regulars. The pizza and salads are very good, but I have to say that their customer service has been in a consistent downward spiral. Probably the last 8 times out of 10 we have experienced poor customer service during the ordering process.

The whole concept is that you are paying for unlimited toppings on your pizza and salad, yet the employees act annoyed if you ask for “more cheese on your pizza” or “a few more pieces of Canadian bacon” in your salad.

I’m sure it can be a tough job some days, dealing with rude customers. But we’ve never been rude to anyone here. In fact, the employees at this location are so unfriendly and down in the dumps that I almost feel the need to ask how their day has been and try to make them feel better. Either way, it’s getting old. I’m not sure what the problem is, whether their corporate office needs to bring in secret shoppers or offer additional training.

Also, and this is purely observational on my end, they should probably consider a more efficient way to process phone/online orders so that the in person customers are still given good service. Perhaps when the store is busy on both fronts, the workers are overwhelmed and that is why they seem so unpleasant and unhappy.

My boyfriend and I come here often because it’s one of the only pizza places near us that offer dairy free cheese pizza and other plant based options. We are both vegan and it is important to us to avoid dairy and meat at a place like this. tonight we ordered our pizzas and I kindly asked the man making our pizzas to change his gloves to avoid cross contamination. He asked “is it a preference or an allergy?” I said “an allergy.” (I always say this to make sure places do not add dairy to my food) he then proceeded to go up to his coworker and say “she has an allergy, it’s complete bull*hit.” I find this behavior extremely rude. We have come here multiple times and never had a problem. This same man who said this has actually made our pizzas before. He was wearing a bandanna and had a bread, I do not know his name, but hopefully he will be more...

My husband and I have been going to the MOD pizza at this location for 3 years now. It has always been consistent and very, very good. The past two times we have really been disappointed. There are always a new crew working, and they seem a bit confused. They are haphazard putting the toppings on, and making mistakes while we are standing right there. They were going to give my husband a totally burned pizza (toppings and crust) one visit, and he had to ask them to redo it. He got so frustrated waiting and left because the other pizzas were going to get cold. Then they gave him a certificate for a pizza for another visit, but he had already paid for it so that wasn't much compensation. Unfortunately that visit was not satisfactory either. Maybe they will get their act together at this location, they do make the best pizza when...
