I usually doordash from here when I'm sick because I love Hmong foods, and I don't need savory bursting flavors while I'm sick.
In my book, this place's food is good for my sick palette when I can't cook and want delicious Hmong foods but on the more bland side - with that being said, you can definitely customize their broths, food at home with added salt, etc.
What I mean by bland is that I love intense flavors, and this place has the perfect mix of flavor for anyone who wants some Asian Zing but not too much.
With that in mind, I ate their KaoPong (chicken curry noodle soup) and it was delicious - in general curry flavor can be strong but from here, the curry broth was more watered down and low on sodium (in other words, if you can't intake much sodium but loves kaopoon, this is the kaopoon you should consume).
I ordered potstickers, which are basically storebought potstickers that they prepared - it's crunchy and has sauce that's a light jalapeño flavor soy sauce. Is it oily? For a healthy eater, it might be a little oily but for an unhealthy eater, it's not much oil. I tried 3 types of steamed rolls: chicken, duck, and pork. They all have different flavor profile. Of course, pork takes the win as always, then chicken and duck. Note: the pork and chicken meat was kinda pink - it doesn't taste uncooked but more like pink/red flavoring salt. All steam rolls came with a sweet, fluid, liquid peanut sauce - it doesn't taste watered down.
Are any of the foods I've tried spicy? No, according to my palate and I'm thankful it's not since again, I only order from here when I'm sick.
Will I order from here even if I'm...
Read moreWent in around 4 PM on a rainy Monday to order to-go and was quickly attended to. Service was very pleasant and prompt. Papaya salad was extremely delicious! Some of the best I've had and for the portion, the price is great at $7.50 for a pretty large container. Highly recommended and will be my go-to place for papaya salad fix from now on. Sesame balls (4 for $3.50) were huge, texture and flavor were perfectand well worth it as well; my three kids absolutely loved it. The pho (Meatball pho $6.50) was good. The broth was a little on the sweet side for me and I didn't notice much of the aroma or taste of spices that pho should have such as star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves etc. Nonetheless, it was still filling especially for the price. Do support your local restaurants! I would recommend this place and am looking forward to trying out some of the other food items that they have to offer soon. (They also cater/have party trays as well for...
Read moreThis is far and away my favorite boba place in the area, including yuba and chico. There are so many options and each one I've tried has been delicious. The toppings are fresh and the prices are good. The people here are incredibly nice and I especially love to see Gao, who is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Beyond the boba, the food is good too. I've only ever had the fried rice, pot stickers and sausage but it was all good. The pork belly looks to die for and I can't wait to try.
All in all, if you want a reasonably priced boba place with great toppings and nice people this is it....
