We stopped into this location to try it out on 8/26/25 and overall we were unimpressed. To be fair, this location just opened, so we will likely return in a few months to see if things have improved, but they have some room for improvement. Decor is almost exactly like it was for Tap House, nothing that really speaks to the change to a different food genre. Initially upon arrival, the restaurant was not busy, we were one of only 3 or 4 occupied tables. As other members of our party arrived, no one came by to offer water or other drinks. We inquired with the hostess, and were told that someone would be by shortly, but it took quite some time before that happened, it was almost 30 mins total before our server found her way over. We ordered margaritas mostly (although they are not featured on the menu???), chips and guacamole and waters. The water came pretty quickly, and the chips and salsa options were tasty. They offered 3 different salsas (seems more than needed) but only about 1oz of each, so not nearly enough for the volume of chips provided. Our drinks also took more than 20 minutes and several of them were incorrect. The drinks are fairly small, about 6-8oz or so, and we felt they were overpriced at $14-18 each for basic margs. At least they had tequila you could taste in them, win! Incorrect drinks we chalked up to growing pains with a new server, understandable with a newly-opened location. The food came out after another 10-15 mins and honestly, it was all just meh. We ordered fish tacos, veggie burrito, quesabirria, etc. The fish tacos were bland, desperately in need of a sauce or something, refried beans were pretty flavorless as well as the consomme for the birria, the other dishes were basically just unremarkable. Not bad, just nothing notable or worth returning for. While it is nice to have YET ANOTHER option for Mexican food in Oswego, competition there in town is steep, and this location needs to step up their game to compete with the options already available. Maybe give this place a couple of weeks to get their feet under them and give them another route, just an underwhelming experience overall. Alternative recommendation for local Mexican food: La...
Read moreNew restaurant blues. We sat for quite a while before seeing our server. Although nice and helpful, or server was relying too much on her handheld device for information. I asked for a burrito with half chorizo and half steak and was told that it could not be done (because it was not on the handheld device). I could get that combo at any mom and pop Mexican restaurant, so it should be available at a place like this. I got the super burrito. It was not super. It was just a regular burrito that they charge extra for. I would hate to see the regular burrito. Again, you can get a bigger, better burrito at the place down the street. My daughter got chicken flautas. The menu said 3 flautas. She got 5 taquitos instead. My mom got chicken enchiladas and wasnt thrilled at the plate. They drowned it in sour cream and the chicken was not shredded, but kind of chunky style. Im guessing the kitchen hasn't got their shit together yet. Anyhow, my burrito was good. I would get it to go again. The atmosphere is definitely not Mexican. It's nice inside with a big bar area and tvs. The booth seats are really narrow and you have to sit very correct or your butt will slide off the seat. The menu has a lot of stuff. Burgers and pasta and items you wouldn't think a place with taco in the name would have. Plenty of parking near by. I might go back in a month or so to see if they have their routine down. I'll try the smashburger. Oh yeah, my margarita was strong but expensive. 85 bucks for 3 people. No apps or drinks other than my margarita. Good...
Read moreWe were there in 8/25/2025 for our first time. This review is only to improve services as we are planning on coming back and change our review. Hostess seemed a bit stressed out when we walked in. We were waiting 5 mins which it wasn’t bad but odd since it wasn’t busy at all. It started off really well the chips were fresh and the beers were refreshing. So we were really excited to order. I ordered the pozole and my wife ordered the quesabirria and two tacos. Our bartender put in our order and he said the food is coming out fast tonight so you should be expecting it in 10 mins. I would say it was about 25 min since we got our food. We got our food and my pozole was not warm at all, it was close to cold, my wife’s broth for the birria was cold as well as the Qiesabirrias. So we were wondering if our food got forgotten and was just sitting or the food is not getting heated properly. Also my pozole was missing oregano, peppers which was missing flavor. The tacos were also pretty close to cold and did not came with salsa, we had to ask for it. As we were finishing our drinks, we heard someone else complaining about their food was cold and someone else coming to the bar asking for a drink because the server wasn’t being attentive, 10 mins passed and that costumer never got...
