I was super excited to see a Fried Korean Chicken place open up! I couldn’t resist the temptation of visiting this place.
I willingly admit that the place isn’t super glamorous or fancy, but it did have that “hole-in the wall” feeling, which in my head means that the food is going to be out of this world! The dining area is somewhat spacious and the lighting was pretty dim. I do wish it was brighter to give more of that positive atmosphere.
Now onto the food! Upon entering, whether youre dining in or taking out, you have to approach the front counter first to order your food. Which will be done electronically via touch screen. The people there will help guide you if you have any questions or need help. Thankfully, no one to look over your shoulders while you order what you want, so absolutely no pressure (such a pleasant feeling).
The food did arrive promptly with refreshments coming out first. They automatically gave us water so I assume it’s just a given that you’ll get it every single time without them asking you or vice versa.
You’ll definitely know when the food arrives! My goodness the smell of the chicken permeated through the air and instantly triggers your need to salivate! And what followed suit was to be expected. The chicken was absolutely delicious! Crunchy, juicy, savory, and sweet with a slight kick of heat (soy garlic). The spicy garlic was the same but with more heat to follow. It was sooooo worth my money!!!
I want to come back and try they other dishes! Expect me to see me soon again.
Side note: the lady worker (maybe owner/manager) was super nice and...
Read moreHo. Lee. Crap. After eating here, I don't know if I need an exorcism or a nap. I am possessed with radiating joy. This is the best Korean food I have had since leaving California.
Let's begin. Restaurant is no frills. You order at a touch screen kiosk - just go with it. There's no beverage fountain - cans and bottled water and beer. Now you know the single worst parts. Be brave. It's worth it.
We ordered 3 meals for a party of 3. It would have fed six. Orders (outside of obviously lunch specials) are great family style. And because I want to impart joy into your life and bless you, order something with spring onions on top. Do that for you, because you need that in your life.
The spicy chicken? So good. The garlic with the spring onions? You will have dreams about it. The lemon was fine for kids or cowardly locals who aren't ready to really live. It's fine. But really. Go hard. Commit.
You can get sides - crab Rangoon (extra crabby), French fries, sticky buns, slaw, etc. Fine. Have some tempura shrimp - treat yo self. But let's be honest, you need to focus on the fried chicken. Prepare yourself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Summary: when people ask me if I have a spot, a sleeper that will make their bones tingle with awesomeness, this is it. Can Korean fried chicken have a psychological impact that changes your entire day? Yes. Yes it...
Read moreWe have now ordered for pick up 3 times as of today so I wanted to give an honest review. First off, absolutely delicious, best Korean fried chicken ever - the soy garlic is my absolute favorite. I will say my only critique and advice to others trying for the first time - the portions are very inconsistent. We have ordered 2 orders of the tenders each time, and each time ordering the same exact thing the amount of tenders we get in each box is really skewed and not in a “some tenders are bigger than others” way but one box is filled to the top - one is visibly like maybe 1/2 full. Or we have days where both are pretty lacking. This is with ordering the normal $17.95 portion each time. So for the price being what it is, the days it’s full I don’t mind paying around $40ish for two people because it seems definitely well worth it between the quality and the amount of food. On days like today, where the boxes are not very full at all, I do feel that amount on dinner for two is pretty steep. So just be aware the amount you get each time is pretty inconsistent for the same fixed price. This is for pick-up only, we have not ate in. The chicken is still absolutely killer, and I highly recommend trying even if as a once in...
