I didn’t realize there was a 2nd location until Sat. Night. While out w my boss I suggested we grab food here… the Westport location has ALWAYS been nothing short of a delight. Afterwards I’m sorry I did so. Granted, I didn’t realize breakfast and Cinn. Rolls are no longer served after 3. That’s my bad! It did seem strange that coffee was no longer served as well! Disappointed… we ordered anyway. I had a slice w whites sauce, sausage, basil & garlic plus 1/2 Caesar Salad. Service was…ok/Meh. I did have to get up and track down our server 2x. He seemed to disappear on the regular. But over all was friendly. Food- it seems strange to me that considering the $ mark up compared the ingredients cost… sure I understand that’s not the ONLY expense the $ is covering… still, there was little to 0 sauce on the pizza-not that I could taste. Garlic… I should have noticed that right? Even the basil was underwhelming. My salad had plenty of greens and cheese though lacked in dressing and I expected some type of crouton. Space- from where I sat I could see 6big screen TV’s which all had sound going. W/ the place almost empty it seemed excessive and the ? Echo? Generally bad sound quality. I decided to take home about 1/2 my slice. When I asked for some type of to-go box/bag. I was brought an entire pizza box. That seems wasteful and awkwardly irritating.
I still had my heart set on cinnamon rolls and had hyped them up to my boss…. The next day her husband picked some up on his way home…. I arrived shortly after 10min (approx 10am) perhaps. I wish I had gotten pics! These were nothing like I remember from the Westport location! Barely any frosting/topping to them, lacking in cinnamon and dry, even hard on all sides. As if these had been sitting for most of the day in their boxes.
I was so unhappy! After hyping up everything about the place! I think I’ll try the Westport location again and see if it the establishment/location or just me. A roomie worked at the Westport location of about a year. We would drop in every now and then to grab a bite and Man oh Man… talk about good food. I really hope this...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 12/10 experience that turned an ordinary night into the best night out!
Walked into Atomic and got seated faster than I could say “big-ass slice of pizza,” which was already a win. But the real jackpot? We got Ken. Ken wasn’t just our server—he was also the bartender, the unofficial hype man of the night, and quite possibly the funniest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting over a menu.
From the jump, Ken’s dazzling personality stole the show. He didn’t just drop the menus and bounce—he basically gave us a mini masterclass on everything Atomic offers, down to the tiniest topping. His menu knowledge? Next-level. His energy? Off the charts. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it made us even more excited to order.
I went straight for the big-ass slice of pizza (naturally). When it landed on the table, it looked like it belonged in a pizza museum: pepperoni perfectly crispy, cheese bubbly and golden, crust with just the right crunch. Every bite was a moment of cheesy, greasy bliss.
And let’s talk about Ken behind the bar—because holy hell, this man makes a mean espresso martini. We’re talking dangerously smooth, perfectly balanced, just sweet enough, and strong enough to make you forget you even needed dinner (but thank god we had it anyway). Honestly? Ken deserves to be crowned Bartender of the Year, get a raise, AND probably a statue in the corner of the bar shaking a martini.
Ken made sure our drinks never went empty, our table never sat cluttered, and our whole night felt like we were regulars—even though it was our first visit. Between the killer pizza, the badass drinks, and service that felt like hanging out with your funniest friend who also happens to be an absolute professional, Atomic just shot to the top of my must-visit list.
Would absolutely, 1000%, no hesitation recommend Atomic. Go for the food, stay for Ken, leave full, tipsy, and smiling. Ken, if you’re reading this: you’re...
Read moreI'd like to express my disappointment regarding how I was treated by management staff during my recent visit to Atomic Cowboy. I am concerned about the rude and unprofessional behavior directed towards me by Mindy, after expressing that my Double Patty Smash burger was overcooked. Mindy addressed my complaint by telling me, “The burger has to be fully cooked”. To which I shared that I come in for the Double Patty Smash burger on a regular basis, and that this particular burger had been cooked beyond, “Doneness”. I too shared a photo from my phone, of a previous Double Patty Smash burger cooked properly. And requested that it be remade.
Mindy scowls, grabs the plate with the burger, and storms away. Upon returning with the remade burger, she places it on the table and walks away. After which I notice that my top bun was smashed, so I requested another. Mindy once again, returns with the bun, places it on the table in silence, and walks away. She made no inquiries about, “improved quality” feedback. I felt disregarded, disrespected, and worthless, in the way I was treated by Mindy. I hope this feedback can be used to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. I now face the daunting task of avoiding those nights that Mindy’s closes. Bummer!☹️
My absolute favorite and consistently professional representatives of the Overland Park KS Atomic Cowboy late night staff are, Joe & Brista! Their friendly and welcoming demeanor make my dining experience enjoyable. And their attentiveness is greatly appreciated, and keeps me coming back. Thanks for making me feel like...
