Legitimately Zero stars for this place. Only highlight for them, are the replies to the negative comments (we’ll get to that later but it’s my first picture).
Food: we didn’t order everything they have on the menu but what we did order tasted like it was microwaved. Burger, fries, mozzarella sticks and pizza seem like no brainers when at bar, but man it was terrible. Might have been because we waited 45minutes to order the adults food. Thank god I ordered our kids stuff as soon as we were engaged.
Service: I walked to the bar at least 4 times to ask for basic stuff. Menus, water, who our waitress was, etc. We didn’t get silverware or napkins until about an hour in. We had three different people helping us and it took our oldest to raise his hand and ask” can my parents order their food?” For us to order. Was pretty funny as we didn’t expect him to do that. Honestly not the worst part of our experience if you can believe it. You would also think someone would say “sorry” or “we are understaff” or something.
Atmosphere: cool top level, but hands down the dirtiest establishment we’ve ever been. No comparison. I get it’s a bar and grill, but I feel like there are certain restaurant rules and regulations. We used our wipes to clean the table they claimed was, “already wiped down.” And OMG the bathrooms 🤣. It was 4pm and you would have thought it was midnight after a night of drinking at a frat house. Use your imagination and it probably won’t compare.
The comments: I normally never call this out, but based off our experience I couldn’t believe this reply. Telling a customer they had 61 other tvs to watch the game and to please “post accurate information when leaving a review” is beyond me. Either this person is extremely young minded or never stepped foot in this restaurant. If you’re showing a UFC fight night and playoff game you probably are not in a position to change your seat/table. I also doubt there is a seat where you have full view of...
Read moreI and my friend went to Maloney's on a Monday evening around 5:00PM. That might account for the quieter atmosphere of the restaurant as there were only a few other tables at the time. At least one of the screens was playing "The Hunger Games" which was a pleasant surprise as I don't care for sports. Other screens did have sports, specifically American football.
The happy hour menu is for frugal folk since many appetizers are half-off. We got three appetizers to share including the Baja Quesadilla, the Chicken Enchilada Dip, and the Mac and Cheese Bites. All three were enough for the two of us for dinner with no leftovers.
The food was good! I wouldn't say any of our choices were phenomenal but it was all perfectly fine bar food. I especially enjoyed the Baja Quesadilla with chicken. That was a step up from Taco Bell. Everything was fresh and hot and came within 10-15 minutes.
Our server was really attentive and friendly. They also complimented me on my bag, which was nice as my mother made my bag. We never had to wait for refills or anything. She had a pretty headband on at the time.
I've been to Maloney's a few times now and I always enjoy the experience. I can't attest to how things get during busier times like the weekends. However, if you're looking for a fun weekday sports bar with decent food and good discounts, Maloney's is a stellar option.
Edit 07/10/2023: Everything was as good as usual on this visit to Maloney's. Alex, our server, was very attentive and helpful. He recommended the pizza rolls which were delicious. He also went over all of the drink specials and assured us that appetizers were half-off. The music was a bit loud but not to the point that my friend and I couldn't talk. I'm moving this month so I sadly won't be visiting Maloney's as often as before. However, I'll keep the bar in mind for when I visit...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews for this place we really wanted to give it a shot, but sadly we were disappointed. We had gone upstairs to go the rooftop seating but it didn’t look as though it was open which was a huge let down because that’s one of the main reasons we decided to go there. When we sat down we were greeted by the waitress who was also working behind the bar. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer to start but still needed a minute to look at the menu for our entrees. 20 minutes or so had passed and the waitress still hadn’t come to take our orders and our appetizer hadn’t made it to us either. I was trying to be open minded considering the fact she had our table and others but also was making all the drinks behind the bar. I stopped being open minded when a tray of food came up and she told another waitress “that app is going to a table that is empty but it’s for my family so just leave it there”. Her family ended up showing up and again, before she even took our order, she went to take care of her family first THEN came to our table and asked if there was anything else we needed. We ordered our food and asked for an update on our appetizer. She said they usually take 15 minutes to cook and that the chefs were probably just overwhelmed. The app came and so did our food and there really wasn’t anything special about it. We asked for the check and what happened next really shocked me. We were getting ready to leave and the waitress then proceeded to get her less than a year old baby and take her behind the bar with her. AND was making drinks with the baby in her hand and serving them. We probably won’t come here again but just thought I’d leave our experience as something that...
