Normally I would give Homers a 4-5 Star rating BUT not today! Since the Covide Shelter-at-Home event started I would stop by Homers for my Latte ātreatā while I walked my puppy. The staff was Great and understanding of my situation .. not being able to leave my puppy outside so I would give them my order and theyād bring it to me as I paid. The Staff was so pleasant and accommodating. So now that weāre almost back to normal (Hah!) I went in today and was immediately told I couldnāt come in with my dog. I said I understood but just wanted to give them my order and step back outside to wait and pay. The young woman insisted I leave my dog outside then stand in line at the counter. I explained I couldnāt leave my pup outside alone and had no one with me to watch him. Again she repeated what I āHad to doā in order to get my Latte. I was barely inside the front door .. trying to communicate my request and sheās raising her voice to me across the room while several people at tables are watching/listening to all this. With frustration, I raised my voice to tell this woman, āForget itā! š£ I guess all was okay when there were fewer customers .. but not today. Since we moved into the Apartment across the street, over a year ago, Iāve been a regular customer at Homers. And everyone there has always been super. I wanted to support the small businesses that Iāve frequented before and during this virus situation... Homers was one of these.
Whether this means anything to Homersā owner and staff ... Today I was Extremely...

The ladies behind the counter were awesome! They helped me decide what brew I wanted and even helped me with a selection of the overpriced beans that are organically and friendly farmed. (Remember I haven't been here and it isn't near where I tend to be in the mornings but I have a gift card!) Sadly they have gotten a new register... and it doesn't read their gift cards. WHAT?! Who implements that and takes away the old thing if you have cards out there already. Why wouldn't you keep one of the old one just for those scenarios... or have a trade in policy or something. You might take a small hit on a few dishonest people... (Probably not at a Christian Themed Coffee Shop though) but there I was over 30 minutes later wasted mine and their time and it could have been for nothing... but no I paid the $30 and got the hell out. I still have that gift card and someday I may stop in. But more than likely not. Again staff was helpful. Product was good. Place was nice. Owners/Managers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI absolutely love Homers. The staff is outstanding and I consider them friends. The seating along the wall is the perfect height with the tables for computer users. However, there is one major problem in the summer. They will not turn on the air conditioning. They have no central air. They have 2 wall units on the east wall. They say if they turn them on they will drip on the paintings they sell that are on the wall. I have been coming here since 1996 and have never seen one sold. All they have to do is move 3 paintings. They also will tell you the air conditioning units will drip on the customers. It's 96 degrees outside and 76 degrees in here. It averages 77 to 78 degrees in the summer. The staff will tell you people complain about the heat every day. Yet the Owner will do nothing to correct the problem and make it comfortable for the customers. I don't get it. I have left here many times to go to a competitor of there's and avoided this place in the summer due to this problem. I have to drive much farther to the nearest coffee house I like. I know I am not the only one. I would...
