Never going to return to this location.
I brought my Fiancée out this past Friday for a date. We entered around 8:45. They close at 11pm. The place was EMPTY besides a couple other tables and a couple men at the bar. Red flag number one. Why are you dead on a Friday night?
Our server was decent. He made sure we had drinks refilled and everything was brought out quick. The food however was an absolute disaster. We ordered a blooming onion, 8oz sirloin and shrimp combo, one with mashed potatoes, the other a $2 upcharge for the steakhouse macaroni and cheese.
We got the classic bread and butter plate. The bread was hard on the bottom, very stale overall. We couldn't cut it easily with the serrated knife provided.
The blooming onion was all grease, and cold when we got it. The texture was comparable to granite. One bite and we felt sick and rejected it. The line cooks had evidently had one sitting a while, and simply decided to drop it again in the oil for a moment.
Next, we received our entrees. We ordered Caesar salads as part of our sides. The Caesar salad was likely the best part of this meal. The salad felt deprived. Hardly any dressing, cheese, or croutons. More or less just a small bowl of romaine.
The steaks were made ok. Definitely rushed. We requested medium rare, and received rare. We didn't mind, but it also wasn't as requested. The shrimp was awful. Microwaved with old char. They were rubbery in texture. Temperature was also not great on the shrimp. My fiancée's macaroni and cheese was cold in the center. Definitely microwaved about 30 seconds. Not impressed.
After all this, we just wanted to go home and be done with everything. We asked for a comp on the onion, but honestly, I didn't feel right paying over $60 for what I actually received. Feel cheated and deceived. When I go to outback, I expect to feel taken care of. This was far from the premium dining experience I expected for what I paid. Plenty of other quality places in Oviedo. This is certainly not one of them. Next time I should just stick to what I know and go to the location in Altamonte at 434 & Jamestown.
My advice for outback in Oviedo? Let chef Mic go, and tell your line not to have the kitchen closed 1.5 hours before close. That is definitely far off from the industry standard especially for what is supposed to be a...
Read moreOn Saturday 1/18/2025 we stopped at Outback Steakhouse Oviedo for dinner. It has been a while since our last visit. This time our experience was extremely negative. Once we ordered we had to wait close to 45 minutes for our food. I ordered a Wallaby Darned drink which was nothing more than a frozen peach drink. While waiting we told the waiter for a second loaf of bread and we had to wait more than ten minutes because he forgot about it. Then the long wait started and the waiter after a while came in to let us know that in a couple of minutes we will be served. Two minutes turned into more than 15 minutes and the waiter came in to admit that is was his fault because he forgot to submit the order through his tablet. After waiting for long time we told him we will wait for the food and he told us the kitchen will prepare it as soon as possible.
The food was served by a lady which looks like a one of the managers. She apologized for the mistake and that she will make adjustment to the bill. The fiasco did not end up with the serving. Wife and I had mixed vegetables as one of the side orders. Unfortunately, they were under cooked and so hard that the carrots were like eating raw slices of carrots. It took a while to find somebody to addressed the issue and we have to wait again for the mixed vegetables to be steamed the correct way. I ordered a sirloin steak medium and because they have to rush the order they served the steak with one side almost blacken. It looks that there is no quality control from the kitchen chef or manager. I was so hungry and to avoid another time delay fiasco to eat the steak the way it was served. The bill came in and no adjustments were made as the manager told us.
There are no questions about it that first impression, customer service, and food quality is always what determine the future and success of a restaurant. It is sad to see an Oviedo icon restaurant that we have been attending since their original location to become...
Read moreI have been going to this outback since I was a young girl it was always been my favorite restaurant. Iâve spent numerous birthdays and celebrations there including my upcoming graduation. And when it first opened it was delicious. But recently maybe they got a new owner Emilio? We got curbside take out twice and both times the bread was stale, days old hard as a brick. The baked potato was old and dried out. We got two coke zeros this order and even the soda was flat! I always get a kids chicken on the Barbie and they always charged me $6.39? $6.99? But this time without even letting us know the menu was shortened they charged me $8.99 for a tiny kids chicken and a small dried up baked potato. I called after I left the pickup line. And talked to the owner Emilio, he was rude tried to rush me off the phone I told him it was deceitful and dishonest of them to charge me so much more than normal and not even telling me ahead of time and ESPECIALLY during COVID-19!! People are losing their jobs. that outback should be LUCKY to get ANY service at all during this pandemic. He only offered me $5 credit and asked for my phone number. I bet he didnât even write it down there is no way he can give me $5 from just my first name and my phone number? And he didnât even apologize at all! Terrible terrible service and the food is awful! Very disappointed and if outback doesnât make it right then I canât see myself coming back.
EDIT: They made it right. They called me next few days after this review was posted. They compâd my whole meal next time I went in there. As well as give me take away cards (gift cards) the meal was perfection. And amazing service inside the restaurant. My advice is just donât go there to get take out. Always eat in the restaurant. Not worth it! They never fail with dining in. Just they donât have it together for the...
