My daughter likes this place and she is the reason why I would come back to this boba/ramen shop.
Pros: Friendly customer service
Clean place
Fresh Strawberry Green Tea: The burst of fresh strawberries with a balance sweetness and creaminess is what made my daughter and I fight over this. LoL!
Sapporo Miso Ramen - My daughter enjoyed her miso ramen noodle soup. Noodle is cooked just right, not too soggy or chewy. The pork slices are tender enough for my kids to enjoy and eat. I ordered this twice already and will probably do so every-time if and only when my foodie daughter ask me to take her here.
Neutral/Cons:
Fresh Avocado slush - The avocado slush was more milky and creamy and not much of an avocado taste or flavor. I hope they didn’t use those bland and watery Slimcado variety instead of the rich and creamy Hass avocados. Variety of avocado used for avocado smoothie is important.
Strawberry Slush - nah, we will stick to the strawberry tea next time. My daughter and I didn’t like it as much as the Strawberry Green Tea.
That special ramen noodle soup with the red broth has a lot of funky seasoning I guaranteed my Vietnamese elders are not going to like. I am not saying it’s good or bad, just different. I took a few bites and called it done.
My kids love Yakitori at the Korean and Japanese places but they and I didn’t like the taste and texture here. The batter was cooked with a very soft mushy texture. The dark sauce isn’t the traditional sauce you get at Korean/Japanese places either. I ate two pieces and had to toss the rest into the trash. If you like super mushy yakitori, this is it then....
Read moreAnother new boba place comes to Oviedo. These tea houses seem to becoming almost as prevalent as coffee spots around here. Unfortunately, that means there’s a lot of competition. Frosty fox is on the other side of the Mitchell Hammock X Alafaya intersection and that is a much better cup of tea in my opinion, for a comparable price. The color of my taro is off; it’s very grey instead of the purple I expected. The taste seemed to reflect this. It wasn’t sweet enough for me and it was a bit bland in general. One advantage of Bestea is that they have ramen, rice bowls, and a few other small bites. What’s more, the ramen is reasonable portion size and about 30% cheaper than Takagi, my personal favorite ramen in the Oviedo area. My tomato tonkotsu ramen broth was flavorful and unique, although the so called “pan fried” chicken was more like grilled chicken as there was no breading like a katsu chicken, for example. The egg yolk was a little too hard, but I enjoyed the broth, noodles, and vegetables. I would come back to try another ramen flavor but save my boba money for Frosty Fox. 4 star ramen, 2 star boba, 3...
Read moreI came here for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. Their fruit teas are actually amazing - they blend real fruit into them. I don't think I've ever gotten a lychee tea from anywhere else that had real lychee pieces in it. I'm shocked, it was stellar. The mango fruit tea was also really good. And they have a good number of toppings available as well. Excited to try some of their milk teas.
Edit: I continue to love their fresh fruit teas, and another good tea is the peach oolong with cheese foam. But also, the food here is amazing!!! We had the curry chicken and the veggie ramen and I was impressed by both. Honestly I don't expect good food from tea shops but Bestea has to be...
