My family and I have been going to this Cracker Barrel for years. It’s kind of a thing for events and days that it. This morning, with a party of 4, we arrived during a busy time and had a wonderful experience with the hostesses and employees in the front. When we sat down our server, Mathew was friendly and took our order. But that is unfortunately where things took a turn for us. We watched party after a party arrive and leave after us. 45 minutes went by before Mathew stopped by to let us know that for some reason “our orders were just in” - no explanation. Then he refilled our coffees once lazily with a frown and a sigh without even bothering to return them to their proper place in front of us. That was the only refill we got during our nearly 100 minute hostage situation at our table. I understand it was a busy morning and the stress, I’m IN food business and I’ve served for years, it happens. But this was laziness and distaste for doing his job that tainted an entire morning that would’ve been perfectly okay with just a little more attentive service and a smile. This is the only time I’ve ever felt like both a burden and entirely ignored while dining here. The cap of it all was when the food arrived after 95 minutes that everything was simultaneously overcooked and cold at the same time. We were missing grits and gravy, and the orders were completely mixed up. After dropping off everyone’s food in the wrong place, Mathew departed and never came back to our table with our remaining grits or gravy. Or even a quick check for coffees or to make sure we were good. After all of this happened we were all so desperate to leave that we grabbed the bill from a passing server and fled. I think we will be heading to another place next time. Or only coming when perhaps we can make sure we get some decent service and edible food. Bummer. This was a favorite...
Read moreLet me first start off by saying that the Cracker Barrel restaurant was my family's top choice for dining superb food & an experience out. May 19th 2024 changed my family's mind & also all my relatives that were with us. We had just left my son's HS graduation & Cracker Barrel is where my son chose to go to celebrate. Our waiter was great. But once we ordered, it took forever and a day to receive our food. We discussed among our table speculating that perhaps they're busy but I got up from the table to gaze all around the restaurant and they were not busy. Our table & maybe four other tables were dining in at 7pm on a Sunday evening. Over 1/2 hr. after ordering, half of the tables food comes out, leaving 4 others at the table without food. Those that received food, it was cold & tasted like it had been sitting awhile. More than 30 minutes again, the other half of our tables food comes out, and it's cold. To say we were upset is an understatement. My 83 yr old grandmother was one of the ones at our table who felt like she was starving to death- she had waited over an hour for her food & then received a cold meal. The manager wasn't doing his job. All he told our table is that he's sorry & took a few meals off the ticket. The whole time we were sitting there waiting for the food, we would see him off in the store part of the restaurant just chatting. Then the second time the other half of our table was waiting for their food, the manager was still off just chit chatting. My brother who has been a district manager for a large restaurant chain & has worked in this industry for 20+ years went to go speak to this cracker barrel manger and THAT is the only reason the other half of the tables food came out. It was an awful experience & none of us will ever be back to this Owasso Cracker Barrel. Which is...
Read moreSorry this is going to be kinda long, took the family there tonight, clearly the hostess was not having a good day and it showed in her interactions with guests. There were a few families in the restaurant when we arrived and waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once we were seated with the hostess walked us to our table then set down our menus and then walked off " I get I worked in the restaurant business years ago you can't be all sparkles and sunshine everyday".
We waited about 10.minutes or so and our waitress arrives "Catherine" she had a great personality and was very friendly. She got our drinks and dinner order, I overheard her talking to another employee stating that she had been on since 9am, I know everyone is short staffed but she maintained a cheerful demeanor throughout the meal service.
A while later our meal arrived, now we were a party of 7, 2 adults and 5 children, I ordered the meatloaf, with during, mashed potatoes and greens, the meatloaf was cold, the greens were cold, the mashed potatoes were look warm and the dumplins were at least warm. , the kids ot breakfast and most of the meats were cool, but all in all an "Ok" meal, I didn't complain to the waitress because we could tell she was worn out so we just quietly ate our meal and thanked her for what help she could offer with refills etc...
Received the bill for approx. $100 120 with tip because Catherine deserved a decent tip, not sure if the company is overworking or what the circumstances are going on with cracker barrel but clearly the issues occurring there are affecting the staff. Just wished they would have.heated their meals a little better, but my guess is short, underappreciated staff resulting in lackluster meals long story short our waitress had been working 11 hours by the time...
