A lovely special occasion restaurant for our family for years. Service has recently declined markedly. I was shocked on a recent visit to hear staff cursing very loudly and with great vulgarity in our dining room -- the vocabulary was ugly enough, at the far end of the room where we sat, that I was deeply embarrassed for my elderly parents, as it showed zero respect for them and deflated their kind gesture of taking the family out for a very expensive but special meal (for six people, any bill at Paesano's will be very large, and significantly larger with wine, dessert, and coffee). On the same visit, a stocky hostess/server (my best description, she did not give her name) actually threw plates at us at the end of the table- like frisbees!. Her attitude was sullen, as if it was way, waaaay too much trouble to take two steps to walk around the table and set plates down respectfully and, well, normally. They crashed down onto the table, and our vision of a special meal melted away before our drinks even arrived. Clearly, this was not going to be the experience we were used to. Our special place, after so many years, did not feel special anymore. It was a really sad experience, especially when I think about how loyal we have been to Paesano's since they opened. I greatly miss one very lovely, warm, gracious server from the past, attentive but never hovering, who I also met serving at Patterson's-- she and others who treated guests in a similar way made the restaurant experience special in ways the owners may not have realized. Hiring the right people makes all the difference between an expensive night out and a night of happiness to remember. I wonder if management realizes how much permanent damage it does to customer feelings about the restaurant when these little ugly moments happen. On the positive side, at our last visit the chef was in good form, serving us really enjoyable crab, veal, and pasta dishes and nice crisp salads. The wine list remains good. I recommend the Fettucini Rogusto (sp?) as my favorite, always well done dish...
Read moreEvery Thursday, our Big Family tries out new reatraunts/ some personal favorites that others haven't had . This week's Thursday dinner was at Paesanos!!! Which was so great because it's in our "backyard " 🤣🤣 . Usually, we have to do a little driving on Thursday nights, but not this week, we got to enjoy a great meal with our family and friends less than 10 minutes from home !! We called the day before just to make sure 14 people could be accommodated, we knew the restraunt looked a little on the small side based on photos we had seen . We were told they could make 14 work, but they don't take reservations, which nobody really does anymore. We Ll arrived Round 6ish, and as everyone showed up, we all got seated right away. We ended up with 16 people but made it work!!! They sat us off in a back area that seemed kinda intimated and made for maybe small but large groups. We had a pleasant waitress who took care of us on her own . Drinks came quickly and correct. We got the pesto cheese bread as an appetizer, and it was so good !!! The kids even enjoyed it !!! She took all of our orders and seemed to not even break a sweat !!! Our food followed in an appropriate time !!! Everyones meals looked delicious , definitely plated very pleasantly. As I couldn't speak for everyone at the table but the food was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy everything . Everyone was passing dishes and trying everyone's food, and nobody spit anything out, so that's a good sign. I am a little picky, so I don't usually take part in the sharing of food . As my taste buds haven't grown up enough in these last 33 years. But I got the chicken parm ( to put that simply), and it was good. My daughter's loved their spaghetti and meatballs!! They also had shrimp and liked it as well. We were happy to be close to home and having a good Thursday night dinner with our family !! Thank you for...
Read moreMy family, some from out of town planned a suprise birthday dinner for me at this restaurant, it’s a small place but looks nice. Food is expensive. It starts with bread and olive oil. Bread was ok but cold and the oil was straight olive oil with seasoning but you couldn’t taste the seasoning no matter how much you put on the bread, bc the seasoning had sank to the bottom of the oil! .Then we ordered 6 adult meals two, bolognese, one spaghetti and meatballs, one pizza, giant raviolis and Alfredo all which were pricey and bland, absolutely no taste whatsoever! It also cane w a house salad came with salad which had yellow nasty chunky pieces and the dressing was non existent! By the way, they charge you $5 to share. Nothing was amazing. I was very disappointed. Nothing about it was fresh. They do not remove from bill or ask to switch. I would not go back or refer this place to anyone. I have no idea how this got positive ratings. If you charge that much, you should be able to make at least a salad taste good! . The servers were very nice but the food was bland and no one finished their meal nor took it home. It was a 200$ meal by the time we gave a tip? Very very disappointed being my family planned this and was told we could get in at 7 and ended up waiting outside in the cold for an hour on...
