2nd visit--- Covid and management shut this place down Differences of direction by owner and chef. Was able to make it ,within the first week of relaunch. Should have known it was going to be a rough experience, when upon being sat, an elderly gentleman asked his waiteress prolly not 2020 correct... Honey, which one of my reciepts do you need?... and as his waitress 5ft away was about to answer... the alleged manager shouted from the back office door super snarky ... THE ONE that doesnt say blahblahblah..... prolly couldnt see it to read it with winebar style lighting or he wouldnt have asked in the first place... now we start our evolution: The lighting got me too , I used my cellphone light, no worries. Still, overall excited by the menu reviewed while i ordered and recieved my fiancee's tasty cocktail, btw served in a cute glass. Upon finalizing our order, We decided to substitue any salad for my Lady's meal as the menu clearly states. With the worst customer service ever the "manager" argued with me about my order and I couldnt do it, along with excuses and my reading abilities.(menu is in photo) (COLORED TAPE OR SHARPIE could have fixedthe issue or god forbid Ccurate menus) I had stated that I wanted to speak to someone above her and she declined and I said I would be ok to call and talk tomorrow... and with great attitude she said hah, youll be talking to me anyway because owner at Dr appointment. Order our meal, in an empty restraunt and a rare steak and medium lamb took 45 minutes from time ticket input??? They finally came out gorgeous and delicious..... and when that was mentioned.... the "manager" said would you like your salad? Duh! Thats how we ordered it to split as an appetizer..... and of course seconds after a delicious salad was delivered ,... all the entree items came?? Timing horrible. The presentation and taste and temperature were on point.... but upon missing an item i had asked about it and was told again the menu is wrong... Lemon bacon asparagus, with no bacon.... easy fix if someone carred.... and i feel missed oppurtunites abounded, new chef passed thru 3 time never engaging any tables, I had to stop him and say of what we got, it was good??? If i wasnt with a lady deathly afraid of embarrassment I would have left in the beginning of the evening. She is a proffesor on campus.
Bottem line never again!. (Maybe the owner will care and reach out?)
1st visit--- Bought combo pack hockey game cru- thing, what a great purchase, the menu looks exciting, was sad to find out that's why the picture of the cat said to find out that they closed the kitchen early, doesn't do any good to leave a hockey game and then not be...
Read moreCame here with my family while we were moving my sister into her dorm and, boy, was that a rough dinner.
We felt like as soon as we told the waitress we weren’t ordering drinks, we were sort of left to rot, even though we each ordered appetizers and entrees. Our server never checked on us or refilled our waters until she was clearing our table.
This was the loudest restaurant I have ever eaten in, which is typically not a complaint of mine, but even though it was not that busy when we came in, we left in true physical pain from the decibel level. That part wasn’t your fault because I think it would have been rude for your staff to have told the table of six obnoxious diners on the other side of the restaurant to shush, but I just wanted to include that for anyone with sensitive ears; if people get a little drunk and belligerent and start to get loud here, which isn’t atypical for Oxford, the sound is amplified so horribly that it’s almost unbearable.
We came in completely starving and were still disappointed in our food. My crab cakes were okay, but the coleslaw that came with them was not only room temperature but WARM and the asparagus risotto (which I was so excited for) was so flavorless and dry that I questioned whether or not I had actually just been...
Read moreStarted out OK service wise, pretty empty but decent looking, shorter haired blonde bartender serving me was nice enough, seemed a little nervous. Ordered a couple of apps and a glass of wine, food was passable as my expectations were not high. Short stay and asked for the bill, went to pay with CC and after almost 15mins was told internet was down but working on it. A few minutes later a brunette with a short attitude told me there was ATM at the CVS and that was "the best they could do" (I offered to stop by next day). Not impressed I went to the privatley owned ATM at a CVS and got cash out that included a $6 fee. The person in me who had spent more than 15 yrs in the restaurant industry was still holding out that they would make some sort of effort to make a positive impression on a customer. When I got back the original bill was still there. Showed the bartender the ATM slip and told her I had never not left a grat ever but this was gonna be it and told her to tell...
