Never have been disappointed with any menu items ordered. Restaurant and restrooms are always clean. Prices are reasonable. Rewards program and Senior discount a nice plus. Staff is always friendly, greets you with a smile and says goodby. Food is always fresh and never a fish smell. There are non fish items available but if you love fish, you’ll love this place. What not to like? The service is always cheerful and helpful, the food is always excellent and the ambience of this small family run restaurant always makes you feel welcome. When we feel like we want to have a wonderful fish meal, HLS is our go to place. Their hamburgers and salads are also wonderful. Like I said, what not to like? All the above ratings are why we go to HLS whenever we want a fresh fish entree or a salad or even a hamburger. This is a family run restaurant and they treat you as family as soon as you walk in and with a nice goodby as you leave.

For years, when we lived in Sta Clarita, we would drive to the Ventura Harbor and eat fish and chips at the local restaurants in the Marina. Well, we moved to Oxnard five years ago and one time, while shopping at Love's in Oxnard, happened to see a sea food place called "Hook, Line & Sinker" close by, and decided to give it a try. Wow, we loved the food for the quality and size of portions. However, the best part of this place is the family who run the business and are polite and friendly. Oftentimes, like yesterday after attending a swimming event for my grandson Chase at the Ventura recreation park, we asked ourselves where to go for lunch, I said to our place for fish and chips, and my wife said that is what I had in mind. Getting the same level of food quality and service for the past five years in Oxnard makes for an outstanding restaurant to eat...

Before we moved from California wife and I used to eat once a week fresh seafood you can get in Oxnard. We live in Lubbock Texas we're on vacation our first stop was Hook line & sinker after 11 years the food still tastes the same it's so fresh you can't get it anywhere else. The manager that works there very friendly and great service. When we got there I asked him after 11 years I asked him if he had a hook line and seeker shirts he said yes and he gave me one. If anyone is planning to go on vacation to Oxnard I recommend eating there for the freshest seafood you can ever get. Just don't take my word for it yourself.
