Food: "Awesome" Excellent Quality, 100% Authentic, Massive Selection!
Service: Cordial but seemed to feel like a faked level of genuine concern for our dining experience. More interest was shown by the cashier to charging us for what we ordered then if we had everything we needed. Your food order isn't brought to you, you'll have to get up and go get it. The point of having to serve yourself isn't an issue for most of us BUT when you're immediately paying for a food order (like with a Fast Food) prior to getting what you've ordered & they have the nerve to ask you for a Tip it's extremely wrong to your customers and frankly should be illegal! With that I've mentioned above in mind, when our food was ready & set up on the counter (for us to retrieve) no effort was made to let us know it was ready or that it was laying out there near all the walking traffic of other customers to guak over. That's kind gross and highly unsat! Had we not kept looking back at the counter we'd have never known our food was waiting for us to pick up.
Atmosphere: They have an authentic theme of Spanish music playing to set a good Hispanic vibe setting for creating a mood. Although the music was appropriately chosen it was VERY loud. That made it difficult to converse with whom you're eating with. There's no lack of stimuli! They also had several TV's playing multiple games & shows with audio. But don't expect to hear them over the music! The walls are mosaically covered in flashy Don Chente themed posters. All advertising multiple Happy Hour (HH) specials. Only I can't see how anyone could make it to these HH specials timeframes, all starting at 1 pm and ending by 6 pm. They should extend these an hour more at least during...
Read moreHello, normally I don’t write negative reviews but over the years, the service has been poor. I went in today around 7:45pm and placed an order. The cashier was taking our order while looking at her messages and replying on her watch. She completed our order and my husband and I waited for our food. We were never asked or told it would have to be a to go order! My husband asked for chips and was told rudely were closing and we charge for the chips. He went to look at his order and noticed he wasn’t given his tortillas and asked for them she rudely handed them to him and told him we had to get out because they were closed. There was another couple who also sat down and where told to leave while they were trying to enjoy their meal. I found this extremely disrespectful to both parties. They failed to let us know we had to have the orders to go. The other party was upset and packed their food and left. I think the cashiers should have been kind enough to let us finish our meals. They failed to tell us our orders where to go only. If we would have been told this then this incident would have been a different story. it did upset me and I asked for the cashiers name (no name tags) but she said her name’s Lucy and her manager’s...
Read moreFavorite place to get authentic Mexican food in Oxnard, which is very reasonably priced and delicious! I have tried several different plates, as well as have gone at several different times, and their food is always great! My favorite dishes are the torta "Cubana", shrimp cocktail, and menudo. The big plus on their menudo is that it is available every day of the week and at all times, so it isn't exclusively available only on Saturday and Sunday mornings until they run out like other places. The other excellent thing about this location is that they have a drive-thru, so no need to get out of your car if you simply want to pick something up on the way home from work. However, the menu listed outside is only about a quarter of what they have inside and the wait is pretty long for your typical drive-thru. If eating at the restaurant, you should definitely pair your meal with a "Michelada"...delicious, spicy, and refreshing! They have several deals on certain days, such as "Kids Eat Free Mondays", so make sure you check what they have...
