Our waitress Sarah began with calling our party of Nine including two, two year olds her “friends” she repeatedly winked and giggled with laughs; poor thing was probably the nicest but most clueless and worst waitress I’ve ever had to deal with. Our first round of drinks came relatively quickly, however the two men at our table ordered half-yards, AFTER the rest of the table received their drinks she informed them they were tapped out of the brews they had chosen so she decided to bring them testers of “some beer she had heard might have a been a good one” ??? Sarah disappears 10-15 minutes passed and we were almost done with our first round of drinks before even having ordered or food and the guys still hadn’t gotten these random testers promised. . Finally she realized they were just sitting on the bar waiting for her to bring them to us, HELLO Sarah! Surprise, surprise, they were garbage brews so they re-ordered another 5-10 minutes had passed and she finally came back with the beers and we could order , now we’ve been seated with only drinks for a good 30-35 mins. (These two year olds have almost reached their limit already, coloring with three crayons and apple juice only buys you so much time. . ) the food takes another minimal 30 mins to be brought to our table, in this time one beer has long been done and gone and we finally get the attention of Sarah to give him what the other guy at our table was drinking (a lagunitas half yard), AFTER the food arrives now; we see a half yard again just sitting at the bar (I'm assuming Sarah was hoping it’d grow legs, to walk over to us itself)she has disappeared for the 15th time now. . A manager brings over all the drinks that had been warming up at the bar and says “here’s your institution half yard” uhh? Wrong?. . Not wanting to have to wait another 30 mins he accepted the drink. . Our “friend” Sarah decided it was time for her lunch and she had passed us on, we sat and waited to get my sisters birthday soufflé during Sarah’s ENTIRE BREAK and we had mentioned this PRIOR to even ordering dinner. . The manager apologized half-heartedly and gave us a break on the bill , yes but how much longer would it take to pay now! The kids have now had to be taken outside because they are so restless . . . This was an absolute joke and we will probably only be back for beer and to sit at the bar IF even that. We were a table of 9 worth a 200 dollar check and nobody got a tip. . A disappointed group, bored teenagers screaming kids and all around annoyed that Sarah still had the audacity to call us her “friends” wink and smile at us. I sure hope someone realized after our complaining and after this review that, that was just ridiculously POOR service and a total loss on their part. And Sarah needs to be retrained ASAP. Luckily we had some easy going, eventually buzzed guys or this would have just been an ABSOLUTE waste of money and almost a total of 2 hour waste of our time ( not even including the wait time before seating). We would’ve been better off with pizza and beer at home.
I sincerely hope a...
Read moreWe went to the Yard House last Friday, (first time in a very long time) and I want to tell you that our experience was saved by our server Jason. We ordered a beer and a Mai Tai. You could tell that the Mai Tai is probably not ordered often there (being that they specialize in their tap beers) it wasn't very good, and it wasn't in a very nice presentation glass either. We told our server, who was quick to repace it for us. We went on to place our Dinner order. My husband ordered a Pasta dish with LOBSTER (sorry, I don't know the menu name) anyway it was a spaghetti or linguine type of pasta with what looked like a light tomato sauce, with an 'additional' Caesar Salad. I ordered a Stacked Turkey Club and fries. The food was slow coming out but we were enjoying our evening out. While looking around we noticed that it wasn't overly busy and there was certainly 'not' a shortage of staff working the floor. When our meal was served it came with the Salad and we realized that it hadn't come out prior to the meal, had we noticed we would have brought it to Jason's attention. So my husband started on the pasta right away - leaving the Salad alone so that he could enjoy the Pasta while it was hot and fresh. It was too late - it was already cold and disappointing. Again, Jason was very helpful and gave us the utmost of professional service. We were very pleased with the rest of the food we ordered, but I want to stress that it was Jason's superior service that will bring us/me back to the Restaurant. Addtionally - I want to say that I know mistakes happen and that things can go wrong in the kitchen, But, if you have it on your menu- you should be able to prepare and serve it properly. Thanks...
Read moreI had a rather interesting experience the last time I came here and I know it's a paranormal experience because I come her a lot, for the same stuff, happy hour.
I'm not a drinker so I come to happy hour for the food. Before you hear my weird experience which isn't really much of a story, if you haven't tried their chicken nachos with fries instead of the nachos, you need to try that combo. I also like to ask for the bean on the side instead of on top because I feel like the beans cool down my food faster and the sour cream and guac is already doing that.
So my second favorite dish apart from the frachos is the spinach cheese dip. I have ordered this many a times from many different Yard Houses and I have never had it come to me the way it did. Usually the chips are fanned around the dip, which is in the middle of tray but this time it was the dip on side side and the chips just tossed on the other, not beautiful fanning that night.
I thought something was off when I first saw the appearance of the dish. Then I noticed that the dip was really hard on the top like as if they reheated this in the microwave or something.
I would also like to inject at this point that I have recently been watching a lot of kitchen nightmares and like Ramsay says, "They don't complain, they just don't come back!" I didn't complain, even when I found a piece of red cabbage in between the chips as I was half way through it. Nothing we ordered that night had any red cabbage in it.
I didn't complain and I did give tip that night. Also I'm still coming back, I love Yard House and their happy hour food still and some messy chips with red cabbage isn't going to ward me away but it was a...
