TACKY AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE. My husband and I went for dinner on 4-25-22. We dine often at Kabuki. Our server was Krystal T. and the MANAGER WAS RONNIE. We ordered the following: Spicey Garlic edamame $6.95, Fried Gyoza $8.95, spicy tuna roll $7.50, Sizzling Spicey Chicken Udon 16.50, Spicey Beef Ramen $16.95, and 2 hot green teas $6.50 total of $63.35, Tax $5.86, Total $69.21. First of all, we were served the wrong entrees and food items served in the wrong order. The soups were not hot and bland tasting. 1) Spicey tuna roll, two Tonkotsu, garlic edamame, salads, 2 hot green teas. We should have been served the hot green teas and Spicey garlic edamame first then spicey tuna, salads, then soups. I didn't say anything when the items were served in the wrong order. When the soups were served we started to eat, then we noticed the bowls were smaller and the soup looked different from what we say on the picture menu. The food was delivered by a different server. We did not see our waitress nor did she check in on us. We proceeded to eat, we were hungry and did not want to complain. As we were finishing our waitress Krystal said, " We served you the wrong soups. Do you still want your order? It's all ready made". My husband said, 'Well we already ate what was served. We can't give back what we ate". I said, " It's ok we will just keep what was served". Then a few minutes later, Krystal brought our original correct order. We looked at her strangely. I asked, What is this?" She stated, " What you ordered". I said, " No, you didn't bring out the correct order". She bagged the food up and placed it on our table. I asked her what are you charging us for. She said, " For your order and what you ate". I said, " That's not right, I will pay for what we ate". Which was much less. She said, " It's our fault, I know. Let me talk to the manager. Then MANGER/ RONNIE comes to our table with a receipt for $69.21. I explained that we were served the wrong order and I wasn't going to pay for what we did not eat. MANGER/RONNIE said, But this is what you ordered." Then he said, It costs about the same anyways, you are actually paying a few cents less". RONNIE lied, laughed, and was trying to swindle us to pay more than what was served, RONNIE knew the entrees we ate were less priced. The whole time he was talking to us with a loud and bad attitude. We were calm. Other customers stopped eating and looked towards our table. I asked RONNIE to please lower his voice and not cause an embarrassing scene. He said, " Well, this is my voice. I have a loud voice". I told him, "I am not paying for something that I did not eat". RONNIE insisted with a loud and condescending attitude, " This is what you ordered MA'AM!" I handed the receipt over to him and said, " I am handing you this receipt. Do what you feel is right or I will contact corporate". MANAGER/RONNIE snatched the receipt and walked away. He then returned with a new receipt, which reflected what we ordered. We paid cash. MANAGER/RONNIE snatched the bagged entrees that Krystal left on the table and charged back to the kitchen. MANAGER/ RONNIE was not apologetic, made the initial resolution unfair and hostile for us. If this was my restaurant: 1) I would sincerely apologize 2) resolve it quickly and easily 3) charge only for what we ate or let the HOUSE pay and 4) the original ordered could have been given to us, instead maybe it was trashed or given away. Either way it was prepared, and it was a lost sale. The world is not perfect. I am a solution focus-based person. If MANAGER/RONNIE would have charged correctly or waive the charge based on their error and given us the correct order at no charge (Since it was already prepared, bagged, and given to us by Krystal) I would have been satisfied. RONNIE IS VERY TACKY AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I emailed corporate. I hope to receive a responsible and...
Read moreFood is EXCELLENT! Drinks are over-priced and watered down...if you go to drink, go after 5PM sometime, as the dinner bartender is better than the lunch bartender. Went there on mother's day, and my kids were buying, so I was planning on enjoying myself, and it really only takes me 1 drink to feel it, ...but still, come on, I'm 59, I know what alcohol tastes like. They have some really interesting drinks you will want to try if like to enjoy a drink or 2...but at $10 a pop, you would at least like to "taste" the alcohol in it. And I asked the waiter when I ordered "are the drinks watered down here?" ...because a lot of restraunts do, ...and when they do, it's not worth spending $10 on...they are expensive enough as it is. ( You figure $10 will get about 1/2 bottle of most alcohols, right?) Not only was there not any alcohol in it I could taste, but it was packed to the brim of crushed ice, so even liquid was minimal. When the waiter came to back to check on us, I commented on it, ...and then ordered another one. The people sitting at the table next to us heard me, and then they chimed in also about the drinks. But, in credit to the dinner bartender, the 2nd one was MUCH better, and when I told the waiter, he commented "oh, well the bartenders changed shifts, that could be why" ...so props to the dinner guy, whoever he is. :-)
Food is EXCELLENT though, I said that right? We had about 4 sushi rolls and some tempura (although I wanted the dinner and got a sampler I think because it was $7 instead of $15) ...but that was ok, I went away plenty full.
Service was 'iffy' ...fairly efficient, in that it wasn't really 'poor' service, but the waiter just didn't seem very enthused at all. And we got one roll, and then waited quite a while for the rest of the food...people would rather wait and get it all at once, rather than 1/2 the table get fed and the other 1/2 watch them eat I think...but that's my opinion.
So I can't rate them highly, but I can't rate them poorly either. The whole thing was good I guess.
Thank you to my wonderful kids Catie And Christian for an awesome Mother's Day! I love you both, and probably don't...
Read moreWe have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years! The food is great but the management is lacking! Joseph the manager was not very helpful and definitely displayed an attitude where he just didn’t care about the customer. We were a larger group ( 8 people) and they asked that we wait till more then 2 people showed up. Usually I understand , but my kids were hungry and I explained that I wanted to start ordering food right away! He was completely unwilling to work with me on ordering food. I offered to sit at a table for 2 until the rest of my party showed up. He said NO! I asked if I could order takeout and he didn’t want me to do that! I was completely perplexed and frustrated that I was getting ready to spend over 200 dollars in his restaurant and he wouldn’t let me sit and begin my order in a restaurant that had more then enough available tables! We almost went somewhere else as a result but do love the food! As an owner of a Customer Service oriented business I hope the GM/ owner will review with Joseph and come up with a better solution to a customer looking to sit and order food right away rather then make him wait. For those of us with little kids… 10-15 mins can make a difference especially if the restaurant was not full at all. Lastly I was upset to see Joseph talk to our waiter Sierra, and gave her a pep talk and I’m assuming telling her that I was an difficult customer. Thankfully Sierra seemed to be professional and did a pretty great job accommodating our big group and our needs! The purple haired hostess was sweet but apparently very new and inexperienced and wouldn’t even give me the mangers name when I asked for it! All that to say, We do love the food and atmosphere but the management and support staff has really gone downhill! Helping a customer enjoy themselves and order food as quickly as possible in a near empty restaurant should be a no brainer! But alas we may begin taking our business elsewhere! So be warned and dine...
