I will never go back and cannot recommend this place. Went to dinner with a party of 4 on Sunday 8/6/23. Service was fine, but it was one waitress for the entire area so it took a while for drinks to arrive, and was hard to get her attention when we needed more water/drinks. Not her fault, they were just understaffed, and she was very busy. What made this trip unacceptable in my opinion was the wait time for the food. The kitchen appeared to be cooking just one order at a time. It took 20min for my child's Mac and Cheese and French fries to arrive which we put in with our drinks. Then it was over an hour for our food to arrive AFTER the mac and cheese came out, about 1hr and 15minutes after we placed out order. Once the food arrived it was fine (caeser salad, burger, wings, salmon entree). There was no explanation for the delay when after 50 minutes of waiting we asked how much longer the wait was going to be. Had we been able to get the waitresses attention we would have asked for it to be boxed to go before it was brought out, but because we couldn't get her attention, the runner brought it to the table and we ate there. So after we asked for the check, and paid, the waitress came up to inform me that she had put my sons mac and cheese on a separate check by accident. I had noticed it wasn't on the bill, but assumed it had been taken off due to the insane wait time for our meals. No big deal, he ate it, happy to pay for it, but then it took almost another 15 minutes to get the card run and back to me after we were already...
Read moreSo I recently visited Bar Harbor today which is located in the Hyatt at the National Harbor, right across the street from the Silver Dinner. The food was decent. I had the sweet and spicy shrimp. There were 5 jumbo fried shrimp that were glazed with some type of sauce. There was no dipping sauce and it would have been better with a dipping sauce. Now the service was great with Maurice at the bar. He was pleasant and paid great attention to me. So the service was not the issue. The bathrooms were also cleaned and so was the bar. But the food was the issue abd the advertisement in the time for happy hour was the issue. So the flag outside said that hh was 4 to 7 but it ended at 6. I mentioned that to Maurice and he said they have to take the flag down. But what in the world. Why advertise something that is untruthful and a blatant lie to customers. Just my observations. And the food needs some work and they didn't have liquor on happy hour, only wine and beer. I would recommend new chefs and truthful and honest advertising of their hh times. But service at the...
Read moreIf you are coming from out of town and unfamiliar with the area, know that this is a hotel restaurant. It’s not a “real” restaurant. I made a reservation for 6 people, days in advance, and we were given two small round tables pushed together instead of a proper table that would seat 6. (Which is fine if we are walking in but not if I’m making an effort to plan a nice dinner w friends.) The lights were bright and the room was super loud. The service was incredibly slow. Our server was trying but was clearly just very poorly trained. It took 2.5 hours for us to get through dinner and we had to cancel plans to go visit MGM because it was too late in the evening once we were finally done.
The food was fine. Not great but serviceable. If you are staying in the Hyatt and don’t care about the experience, this restaurant is fine. If you are meeting dear friends for a rare evening together from outside the National Harbor area, don’t choose this place. (Maybe that obvious and I’m just oblivious to what kind of...
