Honestly, skip this one. The atmosphere itself was kind of cool, and I could see it being a kind of fun late night drink, especially with the mechanical bull rides, but it was kind of rough as a place for dinner. First, there was a bug on the table. A tiny thing, but he was there (we swiped him off and moved on.) The restaurant wasn’t busy, but the staff were running around HARD. I’m not really sure how though. There were only 5 tables of people plus about a half filled bar, but there were three managers, three bartenders, 5 servers, and food runners + bussers. The bartender was a little slow to greet the table, but nothing problematic. She got our teas and app order out with a similar delay, but again nothing really a problem. We had an additional wait after the app came out and was fully finished off of about 30 minutes before we could put our food orders in though (an hour total at this point). The food itself came out around 1.5hrs in and was mediocre, but overall edible (the steaks were tender and cooked well, but were both a preparation neither of us had ordered.) Additionally the staff never checked on us after it was brought out, wouldn’t have been a problem since the steaks were at least cooked well, except they rang in wrong food for both us as well, and served my sister something that she happened to be allergic to. This also came with an up charge as well.
To add to the problem, management didn’t seem to care at all for anyone (except one young girl who’s top the either busser or manager kept looking down when they came by and checked on her 4+ times.) There were kids from one family crawling all over the restaurant and disturbing other guests at other tables, literally pulling on the back of other people’s chairs and crawling under other people’s legs and tables, screaming and physically fighting each other on the ground. When someone complained the managers walked over, complained about the parents, and did nothing, not even trying to address them once. I can’t really knock a restaurant for the guests that walk in, but the dads had left the table for the bar and the moms were just sitting there talking for an additional hour and a half after they had all finished their meals letting the kids run the restaurant like a playground, and the managers never once even tried.
When the bartender finally came by to give us the tab almost two hours later we had been waiting to put in a to-go order for someone back at the hotel (they still hadn’t come by since dropping our food). I asked for a manager to explain the allergy and get the upcharged food we hadn’t ordered or eaten taken off the tab while we waited, adding we still want to pay the tab in full otherwise and didn’t want a discount, and was told “we’re under new management so that would make me look bad,” and pushed back on until my sister was uncomfortable enough to say nevermind. They took off one of our teas (regular sweet tea, nothing special, but apparently $5 each) and the erroneous upcharge. Now, I will say the bartender who had our table was working the entire time, not on her phone or anything - we could see her working hard behind bar, but her comment inappropriate the managers were useless, the team had no direction, and it just really...
Read moreBy far the worst dining experience I've had. Group of 8 went there and had an hour long wait to be seated while there were tons of open tables throughout the restaurant. Server brought everyone water initially before taming any orders because he was clearly overwhelmed by his workload as there weren't many other servers. The water is unfiltered straight tap water - which in most city settings is disgusting and this was no exception. After about 15-20 min, the server arrived to take orders which were two kids meals, four burgers, steak and cheese sandwich, and a steak. We were seated for OVER AN HOUR before getting our food. Once it arrived, 5 of the 8 meals that came were incorrect and keep in mind they were ordered exactly as listed on the menu but still came out wrong. One of the burgers after being sent back the first time came out wrong a second time as well after supposedly being prepared by the manager himself who then proceeded to call the person who ordered that burger a liar because "I made it myself, so I know it was right". After that point a refund was requested as we simply didn't have anymore time to dedicate to what should have been a relatively quick meal (we invested approximately 3 hours into this dining experience). The manager came out and listened to our story of how things had gone and at no point did he ever even offer a simple apology....that is customer service 101 - always apologize for a poor experience, find a way to improve the experience, and then learn from it so you don't repeat it. We chose to go here based on a precious good experience many years ago, but it is clear that current management is incapable of running a smooth operation and isn't even willing to learn from negative experiences to make things better. I feel terrible for the servers and staff - it is impossible to get decent tips if every aspect of your operation is failing and you have to be the face of that experience foe your customers. I will say that our server apologized numerous times and tried his best to get things right for us. Until management changes, there is absolutely no way I would recommend anyone to be a patron of this restaurant. Save yourself the hassle that we went through and go absolutely anywhere else!
update I did as asked in the reply from the owner over a week ago and still have not heard anything further. I am also still yet to hear an apology for this completely unacceptable experience. Looks to me like the owner is following suit with the restaurant experience - I'm not surprised that the restaurant is struggling this badly if this is the type of leadership (or lack thereof) that is being funneled down.
another update Still haven't heard anything on this. Seems to me that they think if they ignore it, it'll...
Read moreFirst, this was my first visit to this restaurant. I will start off with the food and drinks. The food was very good and tasty. I had the loaded fries, and they were good. The only thing I wished for the fries would have been hotter and fresher, but good and would get them again. The pretzel was delicious if you like huge hot pretzels. The spicky brown mustard and cheese sauce was good. The mustard was nice and spicy, and the cheese sauce was hot and made for a great appetizer. Now, the service was HORRIBLE. We had Israel, and he didn't know how to be a server. We had asked him for another menu and silverware, which he never got. I had to go and get silverware from another table. We never got the menu. He never came and checked on us or nothing. He put our order in, and that was it. I had to stop him and ask him for to go containers. We asked for 2 containers and to go cups for our sauces he only brought 2 for 3 dishes. So I had to ask him for another container, and he acted like we were bothering him. He never asked us if we wanted anything else until he brought us the bill. Then my friend asked him what other drinks they have and he recommended the strawberry breeze and some others, and she said no, I didn't like the breeze. He said well that's all we offer and if you ask us to make a drink not on the menu, and you don't like then you can't send it back, my table was like then no. Let me say if I am spending my money and if you are a bar, then the bartender should know how to make a fuzzy navel or sex on the beach. My thing is why say that to a customer I want what I want. Either I will drink it or leave it. Then my company had to leave and paid the bill. I was still there at the table drinking my drink, and I wanted something else, and I said to him I would like to order to go. Isreal told me he closed out the table and I had to go up to the hostess and order up there. I again said I'm drinking my drink he was like yeah no, you have to go to the hostess to order again; needless to say, I didn't finish my drink. I ordered at the hostess station and had great tacos. The sad case is that Greg, another waiter, came over after Israel and was like I will let him take care of you... next time, I will get Greg. I saw how he was attentive to his tables and made sure they were good and not needing anything even brought extra napkins and waters for the table without even being asked. I will take anyone else, but Israel, he is HORRIBLE, and he will cost you money and customers. In all my years of training front of the house staff, I have never seen or heard anything like this. If I come back, I will want anyone else but Israel. Overall, I will try them again because the food was good but service has...
