Came here for the Christmas set menu, which was four courses for $65. I liked that every table had a dish of fresh olives right as you sit down. For starters, I had the tomato basil soup followed by the spinach mimosa (It was called mimoasa because the dressing had champagne in it). For the entree, I had the bay scallops with pasta, and dessert was a frozen souffle. Everything was okay, but nothing mind-blowing. I liked the scallops the best, which were cooked just right and slightly tender in the center. The scallops were pan-seared to a golden brown and also quite heavily buttered. I wished the whole dish were prepared more delicately.
We were upsold a glass of wine that was wayy overpriced at $20 for a Cabernet Sauvignon from Monterey! They wouldn't show us the menu when we asked, and then the glass of wine turned out to be $20! Just wow.
The frozen souffle also had liqueur in it, but that wasn't noted on the menu. I felt a bit woozy after eating it, and it would definitely not be safe for kids!
I didn't realize this restaurant actually had a Spanish / European twist to it, and many of the employees spoke Spanish. The ambiance was a very quaint, old-timey...

I went for lunch and ordered a calamari steak sandwich that was absolutely awful. The breading was separating from the meat. It was served on a cheap white hamburger bun, with a rough hub of iceberg lettuce and the core end of a tomato (without the core even being removed). It was just like something that you would get at a fast food joint or an open air street market, only a lot more expensive.
The waiter never returned to the table at any point after delivering the food. I actually had to get up to go find my own water pitcher for a refill. The tip left definitely reflected the customer service (or lack thereof). I had to go to the front to pay for my meal ticket. The management was lackadaisical and showed no concern whatsoever.
What a mess! I can’t imagine that I would ever return nor could I recommend this...
Read moreSo far this has been our favorite restaurant we have been to in Pacific Grove. Last night’s dinner was a great experience with wonderful service and delicious food. Having a parking lot with tons of spaces attached to the building is also a major bonus. It’s set inside an old house so it has a very quaint and homey feeling.
I started off with the Beet and Fried Goat Cheese Salad and really liked it. It was a bit short on the beets in my opinion, it was 1 large beet cut into quarters so actually it was officially not a large amount of beets, but still it was very tasty. For my entrée I chose the Sandabs and it was honestly very good. I have been ordering Sandabs since I was very young so I’ve had the opportunity to order it many times over the years and this is definitely one of the better ones I have had recently.
Overall a great meal and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good dinner in or near...
