If it were me I’d just forget about it and go on to Fresh Burger (not much further away from this). I’ve been through here before a few times and after this time I’m leaving the review. I don’t know why corporate doesn’t straighten this place up. Well on second thought yes I do. It’s because the revenue is great enough at this location that they don’t care and every one of us, myself included are at fault for that. Just about every time I’ve seen this place it’s sitting full of cars wrapped around because all anyone knows is a stupid fast food window when it comes to eating. Just like McDonald’s or any other fast food chain. No matter how terrible it is, people will go out of their way to support them and keep them open and I don’t get it. First of all let’s just envision fast food and the image of that. You’d get your food at a steak house before you’d get your order here. I’m not exaggerating that at all even though that probably sounds extreme. I’m absolutely serious! Fast food as a whole has become slower and slower over the past several years (I don’t know what goes on anymore) but this place takes the cake, CONSISTENTLY! I’ve been a few times when I’ve visited Cherokee because I didn’t know any better. I honestly didn’t think there was much option in this area but after this time of being in town I learned otherwise and therefore I have no intention of being at this Wendy’s ever again. If you go you should definitely set some time aside because there is no such thing as getting in and out. You will be there for a period. In addition to that, the workers don’t seem to care about anything. Now, I typically try to not be all inclusive when I talk about things like that so I want to say “as a whole”. As a whole, they don’t seem to care. I’m sure they have some good ones on payroll (I’d hope) but overall you shouldn’t go with expectations of encountering them. So with mention of timing and staff, let’s move forward to the food. I spent probably a good 10 minutes at the window itself (not counting getting up to it) and after I got the food, I couldn’t tell you what they were holding on. It sure wasn’t fries, they had no heat and no amount of crispness and there’s no way it was holding on meat either because again, no heat. I already had the drink in hand so they weren’t waiting for a Coke truck, that possibility can also be eliminated. In what world does it take 10 minutes to bag up food that’s very clearly already lying there and what kind of sense does it even make? Not only are the workers non-responsive, but the type of thing I just mentioned is also part of why I said as a whole they don’t care. I don’t have to be in there to know it’s already been cooked. I can feel and I can taste. If there’s no heat in anything you have, then the delay IS NOT that. No matter how hard you try, you can never get a sum of 3 by adding 2 and 2. Just absolutely ridiculous. They couldn’t have been caught up in anything else because they were standing around everywhere. Please, someone from the top explain to me (to everyone) why it takes so long to bag up something that’s already on hand. If charging full price for and handing out cold soggy fries is acceptable as well as lukewarm meat, then for gods sakes just get the bag and get on with it! At least that way people could say in future reviews “food sucks but it’s very fast”. As it is, all that can be said is that you’ll be waiting for food they aren’t waiting for. Nor do they want to answer for. I’m telling you now, Fresh Burger definitely has my attention and you should consider your options very strongly. So anywhere from $10-$12 for a number whatever. Those same numbers apply at the second window just to have it not hot. People that don’t care about anything. All in comparison to $12 up the road for friendly people and food that is absolutely hot and fresh when you receive it. If you’re looking for food late at night I don’t know what to tell you. But seriously, if it’s not after hours, go up the road. It’s so good and you’re not out any more money to get...
Read moreI went in, there was a cashier taking orders who seemed to be new. There was a Fenton front of me waiting to place an order and an elderly lady waiting to the side. Turns out she was a door dash driver who was new to the job. There was some confusion about how door dash worked between the new cashier and the new dasher. The cashier actually rang the order in, Wendy’s claimed they never got the door dash order, when the manager Barbara came up from the back and found out what was going on she immediately screamed out to the cooking staff to stop cooking the order, she then turned and began screaming and pointing at this poor cashier in front of everyone saying that wasn’t blue things worked that she was not going to give $30-$40 worth of food away just because someone walked in off the street and claimed to have a door dash order. The dasher tried to explain that it wasn’t the cashiers fault but her and was trying to show Barbara her phone. Barbara then began to yell at the dasher. The dashers turned and as she was leaving said if she (talking about the cashier)loses her job it wouldn’t be her(the cashiers) fault. Barbara comes out from around the counter, chases this poor dasher out the door screaming at her to never come there to pick up a door dash order again that she was banned from the premises. I witnessed all of this while still waiting on my food. I finally spoke up and told Barbara that she was the rudest thing that I had ever seen. She turns to me and asked who I was. When I told her that I was waiting on food but now I had changed my mind and wanted a refund, she turns to walk away and told me to bad she didn’t give refunds. I told her that she would and she threatened to call the police. I told her to go ahead. I told her I would dispute my charge with the bank. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in my life! This woman needs to lose her job! Everyone in the lobby eating was appalled be her behavior. Do better Wendy’s! That woman owes that poor...
Read moreI always struggle with the Wendy's in Cherokee and Sylva being very slow. Many times I drive away never making it to order.
This time there was only one car in front of us. We ordered 2 salads and when we got to the window, we waited and waited at least 10 to probably closer to 15 minutes. Customers were backing up behind us to where I couldn't see the end of the line.
I tried getting someone's attention inside but got the side eye look away from the ladies inside. I was going to ask if they wanted me to pull up so other people could get their food. I was ignored and when I finally made enough arm waving to get someone's attention. The lady looked up at me, looked toward the kitchen and called to someone else.
A large burly guy came to the window that didn't know what was going on. We said we were waiting for our food. He looked over, picked up our bag with salads and handed them to us. When asked why our food had been waiting there so long and nobody gave it to us, he said I don't know, I work in the kitchen.
When we pulled away we noticed there was no utensils or salad dressing. I'm moving out of my house so we had nothing to eat it with.
This is the worst possible service. I don't know who was supposed to be handing out the food but she was gone and the other girl was doing her best to look at her phone and not make eye contact. Instead of being proactive and actually helping us, she decided to call someone else whose job also was not to work the window.
I like Wendy's food better than the other Fast Food options around but I've had enough bad experiences with the Cherokee and Sylva Wendy's places that I doubt I will ever go back. Bad experiences have out numbered the good and it isn't worth playing the lottery hoping for...
