Legitimately the worst sushi experience I've ever had in my LIFE. 0 sarcasm.
Half of the party of 6 I went with got food poisoning and threw up multiple times in the bathrooms.
The vegetables smelt and felt dry, old, and genuinely kinda gross in every regard after we inspected them. Everyone at the table who got something with cucumber got sick very quickly, except for my buddy who's food came out 30 minutes after everyone else's and then the waitress had the GALL to tell him he didn't order anything, because he had seen what happened and picked out all the cucumber. The rice was oddly buttery and wasn't stellar. The tuna tasted overly fishy and I could barely finish one piece of the Nigiri.
Also, when the waitress was informed of the horrible food quality she offered us miso soups INSTEAD of the dishes they had ordered initially. One said yes, 2 said no, and 3 soups were brought out anyways.
We asked to speak with the manager because one party did not eat most of their food, and 3 other parties had caught food poisoning from their dishes so we wanted them off the bill. The waitress then told us that we ate too much of it and couldn't do anything and included that there "Was no manager today". We then asked the hostess Gloria who, was an absolute saint and I genuinely hopes she escapes that hell hole, if we could speak to the manager. She told us he was in a meeting and that it would be about 30-45 minutes. So we waited.
The manager, Johnathan, came out very dismissive and when we told him all of the issues he had the sheer audacity and look us in the eye and say "Food poisoning takes 24 hours, there is nothing I can do" which is such a gross inaccuracy. Half of us work in the food industry and 2 others are in active nursing programs, and it was clear this man didn't pay attention or had forgotten all of his food safety training. After a brief argument he acquiesced to removing a single spider roll, and discounting one dinner box. He also rung up those 3 soups that weren't asked for, and were offered as replacements ON TOP of everything else. completely negating the comped and discounted items.
The bill came out to 206 dollars and some odd cents, and gratuity was automatically factored in. I paid, left no tip, some of the group went to go throw up again, and we left.
But it still doesn't end here. Upon leaving we stood around out front debating what the next course of action was for the rest of the day, and we noticed that the establishment did not have their food rating card in the window! One of the members of our group took a recording of the entire window window front showing that it wasn't up, on either Dragon Sushi or Dragon Cafe.
Further research revealed some very interesting information such as what penalties the health department had given them during the last inspection, including but not limited to: Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Not clean/fully enclosed Rodents, Birds, or Insect problem Unsafe food containment And the list goes on.
All in all, please go anywhere else. Edoko, Joe's, hell drive to Sam's Sushi but please please please, for your own safety avoid this place at ALL COSTS.
Even if it wasn't literally the worst food I've ever put in my body, it was EXTREMELY overpriced compared to the competition.
There was a cool Captain America picture though. +1...
Read moreOrdered my food to go online at 3:03pm and the website stated it would take about 25 mins for my order to be ready. Perfect! I needed to be somewhere by 4pm and figured I can order online and pick up the food on my way over and still have lots of time to get to where I needed to be! After placing my order the time went from 25 mins to 30 mins. No big deal, five minutes, I can spare five extra minutes. I got to the restaurant about 3:24 and didn't expect the food to be ready because the the website stated 30 minutes. The restaurant wasn't empty, but there weren't many customers so I figured my food should be ready soon (because they weren't overwhelmingly busy). I sat there for about five minutes before someone acknowledged me (There were workers walking around but no one even looked in my direction until this point) and I told them I was here to pick up an order. They walked away and came back to tell me that I was just waiting on the sushi. Perfect! I sat and waited... and waited... and waited an extra twenty minutes. In the meantime I saw sushi being taken to table after table. I couldn't tell if there was just one person making sushi or what, but several other people got their sushi before mine even though I put my to go order up over forty minutes ago at this point. I only had one order of sushi while I saw people get several plates. I was beginning to get impatient. I was ready to tell them to cancel my order because I had somewhere to be (It was 3:50 now). I think the front girl noticed I was getting really impatient at this point because she came rushing over with my food and apologized for the long wait. I simply thanked her for the food and walked out.
Now, the food. The food was good. I got the Red Dragon Roll with Eel and it was delicious BUT the rolls fell apart pretty easy when I grasped them with my chopsticks. Made a huge mess and had to use my hands to eat them. It was messy. I also got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was good. A fantastic balance of chicken with the veggies and rice but the chicken didn't have any flavor with the exception of the teriyaki sauce that I put on it (They did provide a good amount of sauce in the containers). They also gave me Miso soup that I DIDN'T order. Wasn't sure if this was some apology freebee kind of thing, but I didn't want it and gave it to one of the friends I was meeting up with. But I DIDN'T ask for anything free while I was waiting.
DO NOT use their online order if you're trying to pick up something on your way somewhere and you're tight on time. I would recommend to go and eat inside the restaurant. They have a good size parking lot, so parking is...
Read moreIt’s with sadness that I write this review about Dragon Sushi. I have been been going to Dragon sushi for years. It’s one of my favorite sushi places in the desert. I have taken friends there repeatedly and my husband and I have gone there for birthdays and even supported them during the Covid pandemic. This happened on February 9th during lunch. Dragon sushi advertised a lunch deal (see photo below) which said “All rolls : buy 1 get 50 percent off the second roll” on the booth table. We asked the waitress about this deal and she confirmed that this applied to All rolls. My friend and I used this to buy more than our usual number of sushi rolls. When we got the bill, the restaurant did not honor the deal and proceeded to tell me that the deal only applied to Cut rolls and not hand rolls. I told the manager that the sign said all rolls. He then told me I was the only one in a month who didn’t understand that all rolls don’t include hand rolls. I asked him to change the sign to say “cut rolls only “ for future customers and he said he will not because everyone knows that all rolls mean only cut rolls. The manager only changed the bill after calling him out on it and having a long discussion in which I was insulted and told I was the only one who didn’t understand. This is no way to talk to someone who has been a loyal customer for years. This discussion brought attention to other customers to look at their own bills and find that they had been wrongfully overcharged , and didn’t understand the lunch...
