I really wanted to like the High Bar. Great location, but only worth visiting for the view, no reason to go after dark, but really not worth it even at sunset, due to poor maintenance and quality.
The venue smells absolutely terrible, with strong bathroom odors drifting around even though youāre outside in the open air, and a poorly cleaned or filtered pool (indicating very cheap and lazy maintenance and construction - ie. what would they have done to manage the odor, if the same facilities were enclosed and indoors, so they obviously thought they could cut corners being outside).
We came for our 15 Year Anniversary and were really trying to be optimistic, but at least itās something to look back on and laugh about, these were the worst cocktails weāve ever had, you may as well go to an Applebees if you just want a poorly balanced and weak cocktail, that you need to plug your nose to get down quickly.
All fruit pulp, and no flavor unfortunately.
We also watched one of the bartenders pour an ingredient for my husbandās drink, into a shot glass/jigger, then accidentally knock it on to the floor as he reached for the shakerā¦. and he never bothered to replace it, or add that ingredient back into my husbandās drink.
We decided on just a single each after watching and tasting: $40 total.
For half that cost, there are dozens of bars in the valley that do better work maintaining facilities and pouring drinks, but at that cost, I was really hopeful for something a little less embarrassing, in terms of venue and drink quality.
Another rich-run dive, gives the vibe itās operated by someoneās wealthy kid who hasnāt lifted a finger in his life mentally, or physically, who doesnāt grasp the basics of their responsibilities and is still in over their head, even after however many years.
Genuinely itās a shame, and a wasted opportunity to easily do better, weāre locals, we were hoping for a decent addition to our summer spots after finally stopping in, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was a delightful pre-summer day, and scorching hot afternoon -- rolled in as a single stud I wasn't particularly looking for anything in particular, but one thing stood out -- their rooftop bar! Great name as the "High Bar" I was standing at one of the city's tallest elevation point.
"High Bar" brings a unique blend of patrons as the panoramic scenic view is just the starting point. And as you take a stroll around you can find also a sectioned-off cabaƱas for special events or guests to enjoy.
I ordered a 2/3 of premium whiskey chased with a 1/3 of cola to put me in a fine mood. It wasn't too bad when you have an average size gathering, and for the order I had it was worth every penny. A well-made $10 classy drink + $2.50 on tips. opted for a classic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy girlfriends and I sat at the bar and Christian took care of us. The manager checked in on and another bartender also acknowledged us. Both employees held a friendly conversation with us. So, if you're looking for good customer service - check it out.
Christian was super accommodating and seemed genuinely kind. We went for my friend's birthday and he was one of the best servers we had in Palm Springs that weekend.
The drinks were made well! My favorite was the "Super Bloom" sort of sweet but not too sweet.
My girlfriend got the impossible burger and was really happy with it. The fries were surprisingly good. We will 100% come back to High Bar when we visit Palm Springs next for the view, the drinks, and customer service!...
