We are local residents.I am Italian , i grew up in Italy and I kinow what italian food should taste like , i thought on my first visit ( a test meal for my up coming birthday ) that I had found a wonderful great Italian restaurant that I would bring friends , family and out -of- town visitors to but I was Incredibly disappointed, the service was great ( Eduardo was the best ) the work on architecture and design of the Interior was spectacular but every dish we ordered was horrible, the pizza was burned , the lasagna was a quick microwave re heat and contained hard pieces within the pasta that were not chewable, the Pana Cotta was not Pana Cotta , i have had Pana Cotta many times and this was a ridiculous rip -off of the standard original .......then i realized that Il Corso was a tourist trap , over priced and terrible low end quality food , now i shall send a direct message to the owner because all the good reviews of how wonderful the food is was written by people that never visited Italy and have no idea what it is supposed to taste like : Bongiorno Claudio e signor Marfia in palm Desert , questo non e cibo nostro e questo lo sapete, ogni piatto faceva schiffo, avette buttato tanti soldi nel architetura ma nei piatti ( che sul menu online sembrarebbe eccezionale ) e la piu grande fragatura 'tourist trap ' e al Il Cielo a {Palm Springs ....mai piu , forse al bar magari se capita, daremmo il beneficio del dubbio che abbiamo sentito che al Il Cielo a Palm Desert si mangia meglio potete fragare gli Americani e I turisti ma non io e I miei e un vero peccato M. Read moreWe celebrated a birthday at Ill Corso during our visit to Palm Springs. The restaurant had always caught my eye, and I'm glad we finally had the chance to experience it. The venue was beautifully decorated and spacious, and we enjoyed dining on the patio. Stephanie, our server, was welcoming, attentive, and despite being busy, she provided excellent service.
We started with a bottle of 2017 Poggio Nardone Brunello di Montalcino, which set the tone for a wonderful evening. The Pomodori E Burrata salad was fresh and well-seasoned, with the string beans adding a delightful crunch. The Calamari was good, but it didn't personally wow me. However, the Tartuffo Pizza was a pleasant surprise. The flavors were well-balanced, the bread was perfectly made, and it paired wonderfully with the Poggio Nardone.
For our main course, we chose 'The Immigrant' Paicines Red Blend 2017, along with a medium rare Bistecca a la Florentina and roasted vegetables. The steak was cooked well, although some of the sides were slightly overcooked but still tender and juicy. We skipped dessert as we were full and opted for coffee instead.
Overall, it was a memorable experience, and we all agreed that we will definitely return. The lobster pasta we saw at another table looked incredible, and I personally can't wait to go back for the Truffle Pizza. Thank you to Stephanie and the rest of the staff for making our visit and our friend's birthday...
Read moreWent there for diner on an early Monday evening. Our little group of four had the octopus appetizer, followed by four different plates and some deserts. Excellent services, staff is top notch, good wine recommendations to match the plates. Our top favourite was the lasagna; it takes some audacity to propose such a familiar meal that almost every home cook a version. And it doesn't disapoint. The whole group were very impressed. Second place was the chicken a la parmegliana with mashed potatoes. The wine sauce and the colors of the plate were excellent. Third place was the Papardelle Norcina; fresh pasta with mushroom sauce and italian saucage; excellent balance of the spicyness of the sausage vs the softness of the mushrooms; I personally wished that the plate had more colors dynamics at the levels of the satisfactions in mouth. Final plate was the Romana pizza that was also excellent; very tasty with a crispy crust. Deserts were pretty spot on too; our top pick was the Cannolo, zesty orange and very crispy shell. Awesome. Tiramusu was also above our expectations and the vanilla gelato with an espresso shot was also very good. On a constructive axis, we wished that the octopus was less chewy and more tender; might be false expectations I had. All in all, on a very positive note, the experience was awesome with a tendency to repeat the experience. Expect about a 80 dollars per person including wines...
