Palm Springs is known for its laid back ambiance and love for sunshine, heat, pets, architecture, art, and more. Palm Springs shops and restaurants are known to have bowls of waters for dogs...We always come to this IHOP because there is a beautiful open patio area, and you can keep your fog away from guests and disturbing anyone with allergies, dislike for dogs...for some reason lady pictured..Ms. Manager wanted it CLOSED. When I asked very politely..oh we were wondering if we can sit patio...oh no, it's closed, dog has to be under the table! And then she just stands there with an ugly grouchy face micromanaging her staff. Our poor waiter was running 200 miles an hr, profusely sweating, so much so it was dripping. I had to ask if he could slow down. He was making us uncomfortable. Anxiety! Other waitress didn't smile at all and just looked unhappy! What an awful manager. She doesn't know Palm Springs and doesn't know the culture and clearly doesn't like dogs! All her staff mentioned something about her. Sorry but she knows nothing about hospitality, only how to look at people, watching her staff with an ugly face expression. No smile, not inviting... you couldn't pay me enough to work for someone like that. I'm there to work and earn my money, not be treated like that! She's nothing without her staff. She needs to check food while she's at it and ensuring glasses are filled. We ordered the same type of meal and obviously chef is going to cook it all together...well, I got all the fatty pieces, other got most of mushrooms and onions, besides that it was good food. Green beans are too watery. All in all, guests want to have an experience and a nice meal...see employees get treated well and smiles on faces. She needs to learn about the environment and area she's in and better training on customer service and...
Read moreI don't know what happened to this location, but the customer service and atmosphere are dreadful. I visited on January 7, 2025, for breakfast after my last experience, which was also disappointing due to poor customer service. This time, the restaurant felt incredibly sad. My waiter must have been the worst I have encountered in over 50 years. I felt like I was disturbing him just by entering the place. When I left and approached the counter to pay without saying a word, he printed my ticket, handed it to me, and immediately turned back to stare at the computer screen.
I gave him my credit card, and he processed it, handing it back to me and expecting a tip, which I provided. He said nothing! I intentionally waited as I folded my receipt, hoping he would at least say something as simple as "Thank you." But there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! His behavior is one of the reasons this establishment feels so sad.
I cannot believe the franchise owner would allow someone like this to damage what was once a wonderful and thriving business in Palm Springs. I used to visit here twice a week, but then they started closing at 3 PM. I have no idea why they would choose to destroy their business by allowing customers to be treated this way. Why even have a dinner menu if you close at 3 PM?
Many issues need to be addressed with this IHOP, but a very simple solution would be to eliminate this individual who is harming your business or consider closing the IHOP altogether. It's essential to take care of your customers with something as basic as "Thank you" to make them feel welcome. Palm Springs has too many dining options for anyone to tolerate this level of disrespect. The days are numbered here at this IHOP unless immediate action is taken to restore the community's faith in...
Read moreOn Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day I asked my family to take me to IHOP in downtown Palm Springs. I chose IHOP because I have been going to this location for over 20 years. I chose this place to keep the tradition going with my kiddos. I saw two waiters that have been there for as long as I can remember to see familiar faces made me happy because after COVID so much had changed. The first upsetting item I noticed is that they had changed the hours of operations. They now close at 3pm which just baffled me because this location has been here so long and it was always the place to be due to the amazing service they provided. I then noticed and older lady there. She seems to be in charge of staff. Let me tell you to see how poorly she treated the staff was heartbreaking. I have seen this staff work there through out the years and to see them unhappy, sweating, under so much pressure was upsetting. My whole family were shocked to see her just pushing the staff beyond belief. My whole family was left feeling uneasy. Our waiter was exceptional and the food is great but to see just how poorly everyone was treated was heart breaking. She is also rude to the clients at some point she was arguing about how many people were in my party as my 8 year old was holding tight to my hand because her tone of voice was aggressive. A gentleman there had to remind her it was Mother’s Day. I don’t know who owns this restaurant or if you even read the reviews but please make the necessary changes. People do not deserve to be treated this way. I specially feel for the staff. This IHOP holds a special place in the history of Palm Springs and she is really bringing the business...
