I came here for the R&B with Love day party, and I left feeling frustrated and honestly a little cheated. We’ve been to Reforma before for drag shows—where the food wasn’t great but the service and energy were worth coming back for. This time, everything from ticketing to service to seating was disorganized and dismissive, and it completely ruined the experience.
Misleading Ticketing: The Eventbrite listing only offered free general admission tickets. Nothing mentioned tables or time limits. When we arrived, we were told we had to order overpriced drinks ($40 for two tequila sodas) and just wait around to see if a table opened up. After 30 minutes of standing around hungry, we were seated—five feet from the women’s restroom. I’ll let you imagine how brunch chic that was.
Unfair & Inconsistent Rules: Once we were seated, we tried to make the best of the situation. The music was good and the other attendees seemed to be trying to do the same. That quickly ended when our waitress told us we only had the table for one hour (two guests) or 1.5 hours (four guests). Meanwhile, other groups we met in the waiting area—also without reservations—were seated longer, in better locations, and even moved up into the actual party- you know, not outside of the bathroom. When I asked the hostess if we could spend more to extend our table, I was flatly told no. Even the event promoter (Adrian) admitted he didn’t know about the time limits, which makes it clear there’s no consistent communication between the venue and organizers.
Service & Hospitality Failures: Walk-ins were given the exact tables we had requested (and been denied). When our time expired, we were told to stand at the bar, but within minutes another staff member told us to move again because we were “in the way.” No direction, no courtesy, just brushed off. At that point it felt less like guests, and more like an inconvenience.
Food & Value: We spent over $100 and experienced some of the rudest “service” I’ve encountered in a long time. For the price and the hype, it felt like a bait-and-switch.
I’m writing this not just out of frustration but because this venue clearly has potential. The space is beautiful, the energy of the event could be fun, and I know Reforma can do better—because I’ve seen it at their drag shows. But what we experienced at this brunch was unprofessional, unwelcoming, and not worth the time or money.
If Reforma or the event organizers want people to return, there needs to be transparency about ticketing, consistency in seating policies, and staff who treat guests like they’re valued—not like...
Read moreI recently worked with Reforma for a corporate networking social that my company hosted for about 750 people. I had researched venues about 6 months prior and came across Reforma. Aside from their beautiful appealing venue, the communication with the owner Rob really affirmed my selection. He was professional and communicative through the entire process leading up to the night of the event. The day prior, I got to meet with the other partner, Randy for a venue walk through and he too was awesome! Made sure all my questions were answered or clarified. He wanted to make sure they were properly prepared for our event and that made me feel very at ease, at a time when I'm typically very stressed.
We had the venue closed to our event so Reforma allowed my company team to come in a little earlier for a special private dinner, where I just expected a few appetizers. I was BLOWN away by the incredible menu they set up for us and how amazingly delicious everything was. Don't skip the empanadas! Compliments to the chef! That was an unexpected treat. Fast forward to the party and from the start, I was so impressed by the entire team at Reforma from the waiters, to the bartenders, the security team, the managers, to the DJs, WOW WOW WOW! I've been doing this event annually for about 13 years all over CA. This place was by far the BEST. EVERY single person exceeded all of my expectations for the night. I was so impressed at the level of professionalism and attentiveness to us and our guests. Everybody went above and beyond and made us feel like family. Reforma is a beautiful and phenomenal establishment with exceptional staff support. The buzz the next day from our guests was so good! I cannot wait to visit Reforma again the next time I'm in Palm Springs. Thank you everyone at Reforma for your hard work! I'm so grateful to have been able to work...
Read moreWhen we dine, we look for places that offer a complete dining experience and not just a place to take in nourishment to fill our bellies. Reforma is exactly that. We booked the small dining area for a 5pm dinner and arrived early enough to enjoy some great cocktails and the Elote. The cocktails were crafted beautifully and a work of art for the palate and the eyes. My husband enjoyed the Oaxaca Old Fashioned and I had the Gin Negroni. Both were perfect. The Elote was divine. Next course was the tableside Caesar salad. Hands down, the best Caesar salad we have ever enjoyed. We love a good tableside guacamole and this was a refreshing alternative. Besides the wonderful taste and great entertainment, Lorena and Esteban shared the enlightening history of the Caesar salad. For the main course, we shared the Bone-In Short Rib Mole, the asparagus with a pistachio sauce and the brown butter Cilantro Lime rice and all were incredible choices. We finished it off with the made-from-scratch Butter Pound Cake Tres Leche. Reforma is a place that not only offers a great dining and cocktail experience, but the staff and atmosphere are just awesome. Erik, one of the owners came out to talk with us about our experience and the Reforma venture, and offered a little more insight on the restaurant and the cuisine. The venue offers many different dining options. The main entrance offers a cocktail bar and a DJ, the center is the private dining area, and the far end is a music & club dining venue. The small, private dining was lovely, intimate and quiet, even though the DJ was just down the hall. It was a pleasure to dine at Reforma and we wish all the entire team many good wishes on this wonderful new endeavor. (I think Lorena needs...
