Slightly, on the out dated side-depending on your perspective of what’s old and what’s new -Rick’s restaurant reminds me a little on a the old school type of diner. It’s clean, small, short ceilings, windows at each booth, comfy zand not so modern technology looking. I felt welcomed and warmth as I walked into the lobby. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and were seated at a booth (with a window), as I requested. Our server, Claudia, had greeted us. Gave us time to look at the menu. I just had to get off the mind set that we weren’t at Denny with the 55+ senior meal deals. As I skimmed through the menu, I noticed a variety of prices and food selection. A good thing. Just could not figure out if it was breakfast or lunch that I craved for. And so it was, the “Petite” breakfast. To add, a Bloody Mary for starters. My partner and I both order the same dish. There was nothing to highlight about our breakfast plate, it was basic. However, it good and perfect enough for what we wanted to eat that morning. Everything was consumed but the Bloody Mary. Let’s put that on pause for now. I would like to mention that the wheat bread I had was soft, plump and delicious. Not sure why, but it was just bread. Bread is bread. Ok, now for the Bloody Mary. It looked good but after adding several spikes to the drink, the spice was unbearable. What my partner failed to do was taste the drink prior to added Tabasco. Amateur move, I say. She added ice and took the drink to go hoping that the ice would dilute the hot and spicy taste. The drink was gone, meaning disposed in the trash. No bueno anymore. Too bad because I know it was definitely a cocktail she looked forward to drinking. Our server was told but we didn’t expect a replacement Our server, Claudia, was above and beyond. She was friendly, helpful, personable, checked in with us multiple times and was always smiles. I felt good energy and positivity from her. Good vibes all around, including staff that were on shift that morning. Give Rick’s restaurant a try. You won’t regret 👍🏼

What can I say about Rick’s, other than it was a gem of a place that served up an amazing brunch menu. Nestled in downtown Palm Springs, it’s easy to miss this spot. There was no wait for me as I chose my seat at the counter since I was dining alone. I had took a peek at the menu before coming here, courtesy of another Google Reviewer, so I had a decent idea of what I wanted. After seeing the menu in person, it made it harder to make a selection. I ended up choosing an omelet served with chili, cheese & onions over the top, along side a nice sized order of hash browns. Instead of the toast that would usually come on the side, I chose to get a side of pancakes (2) since I was pretty hungry & I’m not big on toast. My service was amazing, the coffee was fresh & was poured continuously by the wait staff, all of them taking equal turns filling in as a team. My food came out pretty fast considering they were busy during the time I was there. The omelette with the chili & cheese on top was a sure hit for me, the pancakes as well being fluffy & fresh! Rick’s has no doubt earned its incredible rating here on Google, which is the reason I chose to visit. If I’m Palm Springs in the future, I will be stopping by Rick’s again for brunch! Thanks for reading.

Rick's in Palm Springs is a delightful diner with a twist! Combining classic diner vibes with a dash of Cuban flair, this spot offers a mix of dishes that keep things interesting. We visited for dinner and had a fantastic meal—the tostones were an absolute standout. The flavors were bold, fresh, and authentically satisfying. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring cafeteria-style seating that adds to its casual charm. It's also beautifully decorated with vintage photos that transport you back in time, adding a nostalgic touch to the experience. Although we only came for dinner, Rick's looks like a promising spot for breakfast as well. The setup and menu suggest it could be a great way to start the day. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty Cuban dish or a classic diner staple, Rick's offers something for everyone. Highly recommended for a tasty and laid-back meal!

The food was fine but the waitress rushed us to leave even while two other tables were not even finished eating. We asked for the check just to get a head start on checking out while I finished my food and coffee and the waitress kept coming back multiple times asking if we had paid yet. She even lingered nearby and I literally had to ask her for some space, which she didn’t give us. She instead pretended to be excited about a lizard nearby and cooed at it while staying near our table, then asked us again if we were ready to pay. I’ve had waiters tell me politely that their shift is ending and they need to close out all their tables, which is totally understandable, but she just vaguely said “she’s waiting for me” as if there was some staff inside that we were holding up, which made no sense. I’ve worked in restaurants before and it’s not like there’s some sort of time limit between a check being rung up and when it’s paid. After we told her for the third or fourth time that no we haven’t paid yet, she passively aggressively said “well you asked for the check.” Again, asking for the check doesn’t mean we must pay out within a specified time. Earlier another waitress also took our condiments from our table and brought it to another without asking us, even though we weren’t done. Overall we were made to feel like we better hurry up, pay and get the hell out through passive aggressive smiles while we were being harassed to pay. I’ve never experienced anything like it and definitely felt singled out because the other two tables that were way further behind us in checking out were left alone. The staff here needs to...

The food here was absolutely horrible. This is my first time at this restaurant my first time having a mini vacay in the Palm springs Palm desert area and this little diner was horrible. I read the reviews and from the reviews I expected the food to be delicious to my surprise the food was nasty and bland there was no seasoning my hash browns which I didn't ask for and the way to rudely said that I did and I did not ask for hash browns I asked for home style hash browns were soggy no salt no pepper nothing my omelette was soggy on the inside the food was horrible the French toast had no cinnamon no sweetening nothing it was just bread dipped in egg batter this food is horrible I don't know what you people are eating but this food is horrible and they should not have this many ratings I don't know if it was just the service that we was given but for 60 plus dollars I expect for my food to be tasting better both mine and my fiance's food was left sitting on the table the coffee was even horrible because customer service was horrible and yes I agree with the review previously written it looks like heaven's waiting room so maybe that's why the food is in season because there's a lot of elderly people who eat there and maybe their diet requires no seasoning no sugar no spices no nothing cuz this food was horrible please if you're from the Los Angeles area or anywhere in the city the food is horrible you're going to be...
