This was my 3rd time here. As always the food is excellent I have loved everything I ate from here. It taste just like my mammas cooking and oh how I miss it. The last time I was there I met the owner who I enjoyed talking with and told him I would like to celebrate my 65th birthday there in January but now I am going to rethink spending it there. The service was horrible when my husband and I went today. It takes us about 30 minutes to get there but I love the food. The server today was not good at all. First, only my husband had silverware to eat I had none. It took a while for her to come back and take our order. Then it took longer to get our food. There were only 4 other people eating there so I couldn't believe it was taking that long to get our food. While we were waiting she never came by to see if my husband needed more coffee or to bring me my silverware. Finally my husband asked another server if we could get another set of silverware and could he get a refill on his coffee. She brought the silverware and just dropped it on the table with the meanest look on her face ever. She brought no coffee but told our server to get it for us which she did 5 minutes later. She had no other customers so I couldn't understand why it took long. I ordered garlic bread with my food and I don't understand why it wasn't brought before my meal came like the past 2 times before but I got it 10 minutes after my meal was served and my food was now cold because I like to eat my food with garlic bread to soak up my sauce. My husband even asked where was the garlic bread and was told it was in the oven but appeared not even 5 seconds later out the kitchen door. I just don't know what happened to the service here. One other server we had in the past was serving her customers quickly and was always checking if they needed anything else or was everything ok. Oh how I wish we would of had her again. I really did not want to leave this server a tip but my husband said he will give her a very minimal tip and said he will take me to their Lancaster location for my birthday so as not to have my birthday ruined buy poor service. Bottom line , the food is excellent I highly recommend but beware of the server. You might get the one we got or her friend and they have no customer service or server experience at all. Only the server that has been there a little under the year...
Read moreWe arrived and the restaurant has virtually no-one in it. The waiter who came to our table was not rude, but when we showed him a coupon directly from their website, he first said he's not sure if it will work. He pointed out the expiration date on it. I let him know that this is directly from their website, and asked him to show me where on the website I could find non expired coupons. He shrugged and said he could try the coupon but it usually won't work so I said, please try. He seemed to panic but then said that it just wouldn't work. I didn't intend to take up four minutes going back and forth about this so we just ordered without the coupon we came in for.
The menu said unlimited breadsticks with the item we were ordering so we expected to get more than one basket through out the night but a second one never came despite us and the kids asking. When they brought the food, we wanted some parmesan cheese, some drink refills (and bread). But our waiter disappeared for 25 minutes (it felt more like 40 minutes). We ended up eating without parmesan cheese and refills (and bread).
I would not come here again. In my high school years, I had gone to the Lancaster location and don't remember these kinds of issues. Either the Palmdale location is bad or the standards of this restaurant have gone down greatly in the past ten years (it would explain why no one really knows much about them or suggests them as a location to enjoy a meal).
I'll point out that the bar keeper also noticed that we really need things at our table when he glanced over (and when I say glance, I don't mean glanced between am incredibly busy time at the bar, he had no one to serve). But he never helped. Toward the end when our server was ready to bring our bill, he came around offering water to all our guests who had asked for soda refills earlier.
I guess they're trying to save 40 cents of refill...
Read moreIn town for work and I was told to try Gino's. I typically try to hit up any local spots especially if recommended. Unfortunately my experience was less than acceptable. Upon arrival I had hope as I was greeted promptly and the atmosphere was pleasant. It started to disappoint after I was seated. A couple near me was very loud and thier conversation was littered with obscenities, this was short lived though as they left prior to my server arriving. I ordered the Lasagna with a Ceasar salad, a glass of water and a coke. My server was Micheal, and he was great. He told that he would bring some bread and went to put in my order. Shortly later I was presented with a good fresh Caesar salad, but the bread was substandard and the water had a strange aftertaste. It only got worse, when my Lasagna arrived, it had a weird brown top that I thought was just a trick of the light or a little over cooking in the oven?? It wasn't, the bottom of the Lasagna was literally burnt to the bottom of the dish, it was greasy and the Lasagna noodles were so tough I couldn't cut them with a fork. It seemed like it was likely an old portion from the back of the walking fridge or something. I informed my server and he was very apologetic. He removed it from my bill but I was to turned off to order something else( first impressions you know) I would hope that this is not consistent though the table behind me was advised there food was delayed due to being burnt as well. Sadly I can't recommended this place. As good as my server was, honestly he should have never delivered that plate...
