Five Below — Local services in Palmdale

This review is for Monica at 5 Below. I have a 2 yr old that shouts as he is excited, frustrated and just over nothing really. I put him in a cart and took him where they have the ball and waited for my daughters to make their selection. As we walk up to the self checkout, Monica was there scanning our items and being very rude grabbing everything in our cart, even my personal belongings, which I told her. This items were clearly not something the store had but she said she needed to see what Everything was. That was not the problem yet until my son shouted when he saw the ball we picked out for him, and Monica said , “oh so you’re the one that’s screaming!!” I kind of laughed it out and excused him for basing too loud right next to her. She then went on and said well I had a customer complain about him and wanted to get your son kicked out..Excuse me!! There was a customer behind me waiting her turn and she said “well they need to leave didn’t they know this is a kid friendly store!!” Monica made matters worse when she said yes it’s a kid friendly store buuut.. saying all this with a demeanor that made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt as if she really wanted to kick us out, my heart broke and felt embarrassed at the same time because I was in such disbelief and I couldn’t even defend myself and just paid for my stuff and walked away . I had to explain to my daughters how people have no empathy at all! So unethical of Monica to make sure she let me know what the customer said. Then I come to find out she is the MANAGER!!.. obviously not someone fit for customer service, let alone to represent 5 below. My son was discriminated by not only a customer, but by you Monica.I won’t...

I went in today to buy Peeps, and I asked a young female employee what the price was, and she replied "$5" for a small pack. I did not think that was the price because it was a small pack, so I asked another employee, and she said, "They're $1.50, I think, but definitely not $5." So I went over to the register and mentioned to the older lady with the old-school thick eyeliner underneath her eyes that employees should know the prices a bit better. This lady snapped at me! This is how our conversation went: Monica: "You must've heard wrong; she meant 4 for $5" me: No, I know what I heard, and you are wrong." Monica: You are wrong! They are 4 for $5! Me: Ma'am, I'm buying 4 at $1.25 each; that's why my total is $5. Plus, they are on sale for $1.25 (reg price $1.50). Monica: NO! (as she started hitting the Peeps) You heard wrong, and you are wrong, and I'm right! Me: I am absolutely not wrong, and I am a customer! Monica: So what!

Monica was still arguing with me, so I put my hand up and said, "Stop talking to me, and you need to learn customer service!" Monica kept on talking badly in front of customers, and there were a lot of them. I've never seen a sign at Five Below with deals such as 4 for $5 or 2 for $5! The morning staff is a lot nicer. I am definitely going to reach out to corporate! Monica's customer service is highly unacceptable, and her math skills are at a first-grade level. I like this store. It's a great place to find random stuff you didn't know you needed until you walked thru the door and saw it sitting on the shelf for 5 dollars or less! Some of the items, imo, are a bit too dollar tree quality for me to shell out 5 bucks for, but that's just me. I will say that this is a really great place to find cheap, but fairly decent arts and crafts/drawing and coloring treats at ;) I was ecstatic when i found their 48ct set of gel pens! Had to grab one of those! Also, unlike many other establishments these days, this store carries squirrel stuff. Cute squirrel stuff. Most other places, I've sadly noticed, seem to be squirrel prejudice and have stuff themed for every other critter on this rock, but no squirrels. Really depressing, really... anyways, I would recommend taking a look at this place if you like all of the above mentioned...
