McDonald's — Restaurant in Palmer

Tonight, I went to the Palmer McDonald's and ordered a kid's meal and asked to substitute the cheeseburger for a McChicken and they refused to make the substitute. Instead of charging me a $1.50 more for the kids meal which is what a McChicken costs at their establishment, they told me that I would have to buy the drink, the fries, the go-gart and the McChicken all separate from each other if I wanted to have the McChicken as a substitute in place of the burger. The manager even came over and back up her employee and refused to make the substitute for my 6 year old even though I was willing to pay the extra $1.50 for the McChicken. I then left the Palmer McDonald's and drove to the Wasilla McDonald's where they gladly without a problem substituted the cheeseburger for the McChicken. They even went so far as to not charge me the normal up charge for making the substitute because of the bad customer service that I received at the Palmer location. I will not be going back to the Palmer location and will be sure let others know that the customer service is seriously lacking at the Palmer store because they are more focused on their rules than actual customer service. From a frustrated mom, maybe next time charge your customer an extra $1.50 that she is willing to pay instead of refusing to bend your rules or policies. Giving these stars for Palmer alaska's ice cream. The best icecream cone hands down. Me and my boyfriend drive the 30 minutes from my wasilla home to Palmer mc donalds because the icecream is so much better and it's extremely affordable too so that's bonus😁 also, we do enjoy the color scheme going on in Palmer it's very comfortable and and easy on the senses😊 all the employees I've encountered at both wasilla and Palmer were very friendly, fast paced and accurate on the order and only ever had to have one mistake fixed in all the times weve gone in the past. The Walmart McDonald's in wasilla in my experience had longer wait times and the Palmer one has best ice cream and crusey mcds has a pretty cool play land for the kiddos and I'm average height n weight and I fit in the play area too:) employees often frequent the play area to Clean so that's nice to know n see! Placed mobile order via app. After 25 minutes attempted to go inside to cancel order but sign on door indicated "lobby closed". I called the store and an employee came to the door to address my concern. I requested that my order be cancelled and my money refunded. He said if I placed a mobile order, i could cancel it and my card wouldn't be charged. I explained that I had already been charged via credit card and that there was no mechanism to cancel the order through the app. He said I was mistaken and we went back and forth for a minute. I asked to enter the lobby and he agreed. They couldn't find my mobile order. He and another employee discussed amongst themselves the problem. He again said they couldn't find my order and nothing could be done. It was about this time that my travel partner called me and said the mobile order had just been delivered.

I addressed this problem with McD's and was eventually contacted via email by the Alaska McDonalds franchise. They apologized for the situation and said the long wait time and closed lobby was due to an extreme staff shortage. They offered nothing but the apology.

My fries were short to boot. Would not recommend this...
