Edited in response to the clearly disgruntled owner
At no time did I ask for a refund. Nor did I ask for additional food to replace the sub-par food we had been served. I was simply letting the owner know of the disappointment.
And if ANYONE was speaking over someone, it was the owner yelling through the phone at me and the families I was with. The speaker was on the entire time and it was truly embarrassing the way business was conducted.
I would give their service ZERO STARS if I could! I can’t believe this just happened. I left a message with the staff last night with comments about the food quality and the owner called me and YELLED AT ME!!! We spent over $300 on seafood for 3 families, and the shrimp was dry and chewy. The owner is so aggressive and confident that his food is “excellent” that he was shouting into the phone at me because I didn’t call him immediately when there was a problem. Long story short, I wasn’t able to call for several hours after the food was consumed. Apparently, it was my responsibility to call him IMMEDIATELY when there was a problem, which I wasn’t able to do because I was dealing with my van that had been towed.
DO NOT GO HERE unless you like personal abuse if you have to make any comments about the food!! For the record, I NEVER ASKED FOR A DISCOUNT, simply called and let the owner know about the quality issue....
Read moreIf you would have asked me 2 weeks ago, this place would have gotten 5 stars for our previous visits here. We vacation in PCB twice a year, and frequent this place at least 3 times every time we come. This time around, we put in a large to go order of 4 lbs crab legs and 3-4 lbs of shrimp. Upon opening our package, it appeared there were less than 3 lbs of crab legs. I called to ask about why the order looked so small, and was rudely greeted by the young girl on duty and then again by the owner. He asked if I had ever worked at a fish market before, and no I haven't but I have been buying seafood, especially my beloved crab legs for decades. I also know when I get ripped off, easy to do with so many tourists passing through. There was no reasoning, we never reached an understanding so I asked that he not charge me for the $15 tip I left them, the the entire bill totaling $160. The owner hung up on me, still charged the tip. One last thing to note, the crab legs were way too salty. Beware, do not order any seasoning at all. We ordered both old bay and just plain steamed legs and they were terrible. Hopefully this place gets back to its old glory. After this experience, we certainly won't go back. Sad too because the shrimp here is still the best...
Read moreGot the 5 lb Surfrider Shrimpfeast, red shrimp, with the corn & andouille sausage add-on for 5 adults. This included 10 small servings of corn which was excellent and more than enough potatos and sausage to go around. Also got the key lime pie which was fantastic. Would highly recommend these items. I would not however recommend the scallop scampi. We got 3 orders of the scallop scampi which is listed on their menu as having between 12-14 scallops. In dividing out for the 5 people we had, out of 3 scallop scampis, we received a total of only 24 scallops which is 8 scallops per entree for $25 each which was a real disappointment. The good news however was that we had more than enough food for all 5 people with the shrimpfeast. If you do get the shrimpfeast, bring gloves or some kind of oven mitts because the tray is super-hot when you pick it up so you don't burn your hands. The tray is a quality one which retains the heat. We were about 25 minutes away from time of pick-up to time of opening the tray back at the condo and everything was still nice and hot. This is different from other seafood broils we have gotten which are cold by the time you get back to your place. Would order the shrimpfeast again. ...
