The staff at this location portrayed out of line and unprofessional demeanor unbecoming of a large costumer service business. Upon arriving to receive my pickup order, there was a group waiting to be seated. 20min past and we were all still standing there waiting to be helped. That's when I called out if someone can help us. At that moment, a waiter came to sit the group in front of me. 30min past since my arrival and still no help for myself, I asked a different lady at the counter if she knew the status of my order. I was greeted with a disgusting attitude. She told me, that she didn't know about my order, that she's processing another order, and that I should just sit down and wait. I responded with can you get me someone who does know about my order. She replied, "I'm not a little girl", and that I she has done this too many times before. Conversation continues and she walks to the back yelling "can somebody come get this guy". A heavy set guy walks up raising his voice at me telling me to leave, and that no one disrespects his employees, and that I should just go to the Denny's down the street, not knowing any of the details that transpired, only that there's a guy up front meeting his staff with the same level of energy she's giving off. I tried explaining to him that he cannot come up here with this level of disrespect towards another human being all because his staff is flustered and doesn't know how to respond to customers correctly. This guy, (may have overheard that he was a manager) was completely out of line as someone in a leadership position. I walked out, and came back in seconds later realizing that I payed $70 plus gratuity (a joke) for food that I didn't get. I was met with another employee. Completely night and day difference compared to the rest. She helped me out by gathering my food, asking questions and apologizing. I really wish I got her name. None of the employees were wearing name plates. Turns out the establishment was recovering from a prom party and was backed up on orders. Which, I or any other customer in their right mind would have understood if that was mentioned upon walking in. All of this could have been avoided if staff greeted customers walking in, informing them that they are backed up and that orders may take longer. Look, from the lady with the attitude to the guy that approached me, this was just a poor representation of a company. Needless to say, I will never return to this or possibly another IHOP establishment. And will do my best to turn others off of the...
Read moreI went to IHOP yesterday for a pick-up with my son for breakfast for 5 people. I understand it was a large order bc it was five people. When we got thr the food was in a large shopping bag with only food. Thr was no separate bag with any condiments. They packed the condiment bag, but left it on the counter in the kitchen. Two orders of pancakes & no syrup. They cashier handed my son 2 syrups. I said we have two orders of pancakes & requested 2 more. I was taken back by thr attitude regarding the drinks. They put 6 drinks on the counter w/o a cup carier. I asked for the carrier bc we had 3 bags of food & they said they were out of them. If they did not have the cup carries, it's IHOP Responsibility to accommodate the customer with other means of carrying drinks. The order was over $85.00. I said we cannot carry 6 cups of juice in our hands along with the other food. A rude girl behind the counter layed a plastic shop bag on the counter & walked away. I had to put the juices in the bag myself. My son was putting the other bags in the car. I was disgusted at the service & my son was telling me to hold 6 juices in a plastic shopping bag w/o spilling any juice. I said that's not working. I went back in the store for a large paper shopping bag. I tied the plastic bag as tight as I could & placed the plastic bag in the large paper bag. The whole ordeal was confusing. We almost forgot to pay bc of the confusion. When we got back to the hotel one of the pancake orders was not in the bag. My son called & they told him he had to speak to a manager abt the missing pancakes.....Really after they couldn't get the order right. The restaurant wasn't crowded & the staff was basically hanging out talking in the kitchen. The food was subpar. If they did not have cup carriers they shd have accommodated the customer with packing the juices. If your spending over $80.00 dollars for food why did my son need to speak to a manager abt pancakes being left out of the order. Customer service is a deal breaker for me!! I will not go back to that IHOP...
Read moreWent this afternoon 1/27/24. Long wait standing in lobby before anyone offered to seat us. Had to wait even longer to get the waitress to take our order. While we were waiting another couple came in and were seated. The waitress took their order before ours. While waiting for our order two more tables were seated and the food finally started arriving all three tables got theirs and we were still waiting. in the meanwhile another family arrived and were seated and they too got their food. I was ready to walk out but my wife chased down the waitress and ask where our order was. We finally got the food but it was cold and missing part of the order. I asked three times for sugar free syrup and again my wife got up and got it for me. The invoice came promptly and I gave the waitress my card without reading the invoice. When she returned it I noticed they had charged me $7.58 for coffee. When I complained they said they could not credit my card but offered cash -- another long wait and the waitress finally stuffed 4 dollars in my hand and hurried off. That means they must charge $3.58 for a cup of coffee. I do not fault the waitress as she was alone with 6 tables all arriving about the same time. This is a managerial problem. The other tables had similar problems the couple that arrived just after us had at least part of their meal comped because almost everything on their order was wrong or cooked wrong. The couple at the table next to us had similar problems but said nothing except that they would not make the mistake of eating there again and the family at the other end of the room told my wife their food arrived cold and one of the ladies had a hair in her food. I have eaten at IHOP all over the south and never had this bad an experience before and I will never again have one at this 23rd street location. Oh yes, they did not have grits to serve with breakfast. That is equivalent to sin...
