Update June 10, 2023: After returning 2 months after posting my initial review below, I can now confirm that my prior experience was NOT a one-off!!

The sandwiches are not nearly as filled with meat as advertised (see pictures)! The pictures show the bread stuffed with meat where in reality, there is as much bread as meat!!

DON'T BOTHER OR YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

Something was definately off at our recent visit to Greenberg's Deli.

Greenberg's Deli is our usual go-to place on a Saturday evening before heading out to a show or a game.

The amount of corned beef and/or pastrami that usually has accompanied the sandwich has been significantly cut back from our last visit in January.

Although the cross section of the cut sandwich appears to be piled high, the truth is that the meat is pushed towards the center of the sandwich and the meat at the edges of the bread are either scace or non-existent!

Once the meat has been uniformly spread out on the bread, it was necessary for me to discard one side of the bread in order to be able to enjoy the taste of the corned beef without it being overwhelmed with bread!

As I looked at other sandwiches made after mine, I can confidently say that all sandwiches made tonight skimped on the meat!

On our next visit we will check out the sandwiches made before deciding to order a sandwich at Greenberg's Deli.

Hopefully, tonight's experience was a one-time one-off.

On our next visit, if it turns out to now be the new normal, it will be a sad day as we will have to find an alternative Saturday evening go-to place.

Let's hope that is...

Greenberg's Deli reuben is to date the best reuben I have ever had. Service was quick, friendly and highly accommodating. I was indecisive whether I wanted pastrami or corned beef (since I like both), so they quickly offered to make it half-and-half for me - but not stacked on top of each other, as everyone else does, they separated into two half sandwiches, one pastrami and one corned beef - excellent!! A taste test. :) I watched as they shaved the oven-hot roasts directly onto the marbled rye. Hot, fresh, tender and juicy - delectable! For me, this was an unplanned carry-out meal that went back to my hotel room. I was not prepared for the mind-bending experience that began with my first bite. A-ma-zing! Unfortunately, this has ruined "normal" reuben sandwiches for me; they just haven't seemed the same ever since, and now I just pass them by. I have since been on a multi-year quest to find an equally good reuben in Southern California - some have come close, but I haven't found it yet. In all truth, I have sat around on some days contemplating the drive to Vegas just to get one of these sandwiches again. Had I known what it was going to be, I would have taken much more care with the photos - they don't do it justice. My...

I haven't been to NY NY in probably over 10 years but this trip, I went there and one of things I was looking forward to was the New York eateries. I didn't spend too much time here so I chose to eat at Greenberg's for my "New York" meal. I ordered the New York Skyhigh on a ciabatta which consisted of corned beef, pastrami, turkey, cole slaw, and Thousand Island dressing. I felt that the pricing was very reasonable and did not skimp on the meat. I enjoyed the sandwich, but I did feel that they skimped on the cole slaw and the Thousand Island dressing. I felt that the cole slaw and the dressing was missing mainly because the meats are heavy in flavor so the slaw and dressing would have balanced out the sandwich better. The pickle helped. So like a NY deli, you order with someone behind the counter and then move on down to pay. The servers were all efficient so you don't have to wait long for your food. There was nothing wrong with their service so this is not a dig on them but they really do behave like NY servers with a certain amount of briskness and abruptness. I went there and was only a couple of people ahead of me so I don't know how it would be when busier. If you're in the mood for a sandwich, Greenberg's Deli is an good and...

The food is decent, definitely. It worth the price point in both quality and quantity. If you come in the morning, expect the line to be about a dozen people long but it will take 20-30 minutes to get to the front of the line. There are several cooks who all share one machine that toasts the bagels and cooks the eggs in little tinfoil trays. The machine is slow and usually they have to take turns re-toasting items as it doesn’t seem to do it on the first go. Pretty frustrating. They all focus on cooking the food and when you slide down the counter to get the coffee you order at the beginning you have to wait for them to step away from the machine to walk down and help you. The of course the awkward ask for a tip at the end… I got the egg and pastrami bagel with coffee.
