Mood - Tic Toc
Ok so I seen this meat and display and was like oh goodness I need this in my life. I have never seen anything like this on a small personal scale. So my intrigue was def up there. And watching that video really made it an easy decision to check it out.
Upon entering it was not that busy as it wasn't quite lunch rush. Was ushered to sit wherever we chose.
Now as I was sitting down it became apparent that either they were short staffed or something just wasn't right. After a bit , the server came by and gave us menus and took the drink order. A bit later the order was taken.
Opted for those Carnitas, and 2 Horchatas. I wish I could say it was a great experience. But I won't. We waited over 40 mins for the food to come out. When the food arrived it was cold. I had to ask for cutlery. The busser came by and put fresh tortillas on the table, those were actually hot. No servers ever came by for me to inquire about the food. And I'll admit I was starving and decided to eat the cold food. IKIK - but the hangry was starting to set in.
After we were done. The check was given. It was for another a table. I inquired about the cold food and was given a very non chalant response. No effort was made to rectify the situation. Highlight was the display. Experience disappointing.
They were so backed up that other patrons started to leave, as the wait was just getting longer and longer. A table came in after everyone else, at which time they were given hot food all very timely. This table raved about their experience. I wish my table and those around us could have enjoyed ours like that.
Interior is a great size. There are several booths along with table & chair arrangements. Music was playing in the background along with a couple of televisions going.
Can't recommend nor not- maybe we came in on the wrong day and def wrong time. The customer service when we had it was friendly but not accommodating as to the whole situation. Pricing was reasonable.

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at La Barbacoa, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a warm smile from Rosie, who made the entire experience truly memorable. Her attention to detail, genuine enthusiasm, and impeccable service elevated the evening.
But as incredible as the service was, the food was even better. Each dish was crafted with care, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of Mexico. The tender, smoky barbacoa was perfectly seasoned, and every bite was a delight. The fresh salsas, warm tortillas, and delicious sides complemented the main course beautifully.

Read moreWe just flew back into town and decided to try La Barbacoa located close to the airport. We had seen posts about it on different social media and had to see for ourselves if it lived up to the hype. When we walked in we were greeted right away by our friendly server. It was early so we were the only ones there and sat in a booth. It's a fairly larger space and the tables were spread out and not crowded. The furniture was a little run down but not a big deal. We chose some items from the lunch special menu and we received our drinks right away. The chips and salsa were good but just a little small. We could've asked for more but the food came out quick. Everything was very tasty. The birria meat was cooked well and was pretty tender and juicy. The dipping consome lacked some flavor but wasn't terrible. My wife's burrito was packed and the carne asada was flavorful. Overall the service and food were really good and we would definitely go back to try more if we are that side of town. Give them a try for yourself and see how...
