This place is the real deal when it comes to real authentic Loa's Thai food. We ordered the pad kee mao drunken noodles, loa jerky, jackpot papaya salad platter, seafood Curry, lao sausages, a dish of bitter and sour raw larb, and sticky rice. The drunken noodles were very good and had lots of flavor and meat. The laos jerky has good flavor with their dipping sauce. The papaya salad had really good flavors with all the additional meat and all the condiments that an Asian person would eat with papaya salad. It was awesome. The seafood Curry I think is one of a kind cuz it had a very good flavor with all that mixture of seafood and vegetables and the good thing was that it was still under the heat at your table so it stays warm while you eat it all. The Lao sausages are one of a kind and have one of a kind flavors that is definitely a specialty that only they would make there and serve because you won't find this in the stores. It had a really awesome flavor, a flavor that you will not find or taste from any sausages from the store or Asian store. The raw larb dish was totally awesome too. The bitter and sour that we ordered were one of a kind that you would only find at this restaurant. The flavor of both dishes was made by a professional that knew how to make this dish, because this dish is very hard to make with this kind of flavor and only an Asian person that eats this a lot would know that this had really good flavor and texture. This dish is not for the faint-hearted person. The sticky rice was soft and hot which made it really good. I would definitely recommend you come out and try this place because it has awesome authentic flavors of real...
Read moreI'm a big fan of Laotian food, don't care for Thai food as much. So this place was a win for all. Interesting venue...very eccentric. I think this was a bar at some point or maybe the owners were experimenting with some sort of night life scene. While the main area looks like a traditional restaurant the extended or side area looks like night club or a Karaoke bar with a DJ booth. Plenty of parking available as it Laos Thai Street Food is located in strip mall.
#SouthEastAsianEats:
~ 3. Fried Tofu (10 Pieces) - 4/5 Big ol chunks of perfectly Fired Tofu pieces. Brilliant appetizer to share, otherwise it's almost a meal onto itself.
~ 31. Boat Noodle Soup (Thai Style) - 4.5/5 Da Wahine is in LOOOVVVEEE with Boat Noodle Soup. She always looks for it at a Thai Venue. This won her approval. Personally I'm not familiar with Boat Noodle Soup, so I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like. This one was loaded...all kinds of protein. I'd easily order it again.
~ 59. Pad Kee Moo (Drunken Noodles) w/ pork - 4/5 I picked this dish, based on the waiter's (maybe owner) recommendation. He and stated it was one of the most popular Laotian dishes here, and suggested I order it with Pork as the protein. Very tasty noodle dish. No complaints!
Also they were out of Mango Sticky rice since Mangoes weren't in season...makes sense. I can't wait to try that the next time. You won't hear me complaining about a return trip... I just need to try the rest...
Read moreSooo good!! Back again a month later with updated must orders with *next to it. Punch of flavor in the mouth. Quality in taste and flavor was amazing. This place will be a regular visit.
It's way better quality than LA Thai town (and I've lived there for years). It didn't taste very Thai but I'm fairly new to Laos food with experience in eating it twice -- once at a traditional wedding and another time at a Central CA restaurant in the Hmong community neighborhoods. This place is more bold and flavorful than what I remembered in Central CA.
*$14 Thum Muk Houng (Papaya Salad) Lao style where sauce is browner. It was pretty spicy for being level 1 even everything else as level 1 didn't event burn the tongue.
**$15 Pad Krapow (Spicy Basil) with Beef was my favorite dish. Although it was oily, it was so bold in flavor. Great with side rice order.
$12 Red Curry came with rice, and $15 Spicy Basil Fried Rice were both really tasty. Sadly, they didn't have any $15 Khao Soy Chicken.
Everything was so good. Looking forward to trying more dishes. Which did! Update.... After this visit, realized Papaya Salad is a must/ALWAYS each visit.
$18 Raw Larb Seen Dip (raw Ribeye beef salad), sour. It was good quality. We probably will order papaya salad instead.
**$15 Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), pork. Really tasty. Will order again.
**$15 Khao Soy Chicken + $3 Sticky Rice. Really tasty. Will...
