BEWARE Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members! This is not the place to stop if you want quality service and you’re not coming to Las Vegas for a Vegas experience. My husband and I were passing through Las Vegas on our way to another destination. We thought it would be nice to stay at the Bellagio when we spotted the affiliation through the Marriott Bonvoy App. We desired valet parking due to a 2nd vehicle strapped into the bed of our truck; we wanted our vehicles watched and protected.
From the moment we pulled up the valet experience was a disaster. I get it. You have mindless people walking everywhere: staring at the fountain show, looking down at their phones, taking pictures in the middle of the street where people are driving, certainly not ideal.
We waited for a bellhop for what seemed like FOREVER. We had a beach cart in the truck so we eventually threw our bags in our own beach cart.
You can’t complete a mobile check-in from the Marriott Bonvoy App nor will your Marriott Bonvoy confirmation be found on the MGM mobile check-in. You will wait in a long line awaiting check-in.
The room and hotel amenities are wonderful. I can’t say enough about the spa, gym, food, and decor of this hotel. I’ve stayed before, but with groups for carefully curated high end events. I don’t gamble, but enjoy Cirque shows and The Bellagio is home to “O”. I’ve seen it twice; over a 20-year span. Quite a successful and wonderful show; highly recommend seeing it.
There wasn’t a coffee machine in the room. We did not have a regular room either. We had a King Suite, on the 27th floor, with 3 bathrooms and a living room with full bar. The suite was magical! We ordered room service and our meals were delicious. We were happy and content, but wanted coffee available in our room for the morning.
We called down for a coffee machine to be brought to the room. Daniel, in house keeping said, “Only the penthouses have coffee machines. It’s a fire hazard to keep coffee machines in the room”. This is a lie. Every hotel room can have a coffee machine. The fire marshall didn’t pick The Bellagio out and tell them individually that they can’t have coffee machines in any rooms other than their penthouses. This is policy, and that’s fine, just say it. This escalated to speaking with Arthur at the front desk, who was even more insulting. I just hung up. Arthur sent a $54 carafe of coffee to my room via room service. I declined it, when the woman asked me to sign the room service bill for the carafe 😳
First of all, do only the super wealthy that spend 30k a night, know how to safely use a coffee machine? Also, when was the last time you saw one of those old school glass canister coffee machines that burnt the bottom of the canister if you didn’t shut the coffee machine off yourself? Ummm, like 20 years ago in a hotel environment, unless I’m at an Air B&B or local beach dive motel. All the hotels have had single serve and self-shut off coffee machines for over a decade. We went downstairs and got the coffee machine we used for camping from out of the car we valeted; lucky we had it. I guess only the super wealthy deserve not to pay $15 a coffee at The Bellagio 😞
Lastly, I feel bad for the guys in valet and what AI and self-service may have done to affect their income potential via tips. However, if you’re gonna be mean to people just find another job. Valet had our car parked in the front due to the size and the other vehicle we were carrying. We could see it. So we asked for help & wanted to give a cash tip, because we paid the valet fee as part of our folio inside the hotel. The self check out feature is the only way to request the car, pay, and tip. But we had already paid and wanted to give a cash tip. Talking with Valet was useless. They were mean and made us wait for a car we could’ve picked up on our own....
Read moreWe have stayed at various hotels at the Las Vegas strip for so many years. This time my husband and I decided to stay at a 4 or 5 star hotel. We picked Bellagio Hotel this time. We have been inside the Bellagio lobby and hotel before, but have not stayed to lodge. I'd say the outside beauty of the hotel - fountain, lobby, shops, restaurants, etcetera are beautiful. The room however was absolutely NOT WORTH the money. I was so excited to enter our room for the first time because of the hype - 5-star hotel, I was surprised my jaw did not drop, instead a big disappointment because the room is very 3-star looking - the interior design is very simple, no beautiful frames of artwork or displays on the wall. And the bathroom? Very simple, wallpapers covered the walls, and the shower head is old and rusty. The water volume coming out of the shower is not a heavy flow: the tendency is to stay in the shower for a long time. The shampoo, conditioner, body soap, plus hand soap are dispensed from bottles, but you have to push the spouts several times to get a mound of soap into your palm.
Regarding Housekeeping - it will be a long time wait for someone to pick up your call. One call I did was midday, someone picked up, I requested for stuff - and they came with 'some' items correctly delivered. The others were wrong items. So its better to just ask in person, if housekeeping crew is available in your floor hallways.
Sorry, I will not go back and stay at the Bellagio and will not recommend to family and friends. NOT WORTH the outrageous money my husband and I paid (4 nights). Room looks very regular. We found out that in order to get a room facing the fountain or Las Vegas Strip, you have to add $300 plus dollars more. Also, do not expect a microwave or an ammenity to help you heat your leftover food. Either you eat that cold or throw it. Besides you won't even have enough space to refrigerate your leftover in the room fridge. Nope, no space.
Dear Bellagio - you want your guests to really brag about your hotel rooms then make it worth the bragging. The room really looks so regular, shower/bathroom does not look pleasing, etc. To the not-so-rich folks who can still afford the high rates at your hotel, give us a feel and the look of a 5-star hotel. Time for a makeover of the rooms - it is showing the age of the hotel. Also, I may be wrong, but I did not see water sprinklers on the ceiling of our room - there goes safety issue too. I opted not to post here the photos I took of the room and bathroom... Up to you if you believe me or disagree with me.
Dear fellow tourists at Las Vegas, we should and never under estimate the 3-star hotels at the strip. If you are there in Las Vegas to gamble, be practical... you just need a nice room to sleep in. Part of your day, that room is vacant. Next time my husband and I visit, we will stay at a newer or newly-built hotels, rated 3-star. At least when you enter the room, you are already expecting a 3-star room... but who knows, you may find a very nice interior design of a room... then wow, right? We have stayed at 4-star hotels too. Those were way better than Bellagio. Just saying and...
Read moreWe are here on a Spring Break trip for my son. We are Chairman and Titanium level in the Marriott and Bonvoy system and chose to stay here given this as being rated a top tiered resorts. The rooms are clean and housekeeping is thorough and courteous. However, we do tip them well daily. We also were given a minor upgrade to a corner room with a partial view. The main view is of the interstate and the dumpsters. The service overall has been mediocre and I have even encountered several rude encounters. The resort is extremely crowded as well and the lobby and walk through areas reek of cigarettes. We have a service dog with us and there are only two dog relief areas that are littered with dog excrement owners have not cleaned, cigarettes, remnants of joints, beer bottles and cans and one of these is the front lawn of the resort! The relief areas are also an extremely long distance from the rooms and the pool area. The dinner Buffet was absolutely horrible and ridiculously expensive. We left after barely eating. After investing so much in the Bonvoy and Vistana system as owners of twenty plus years we would appreciate a level of service that reflects this. We have never had an issue at the Ritz or St Regis anywhere and are not the needy or complaining type. That being said, I have not been happy here and will not be back nor will I recommend this resort. I will attach a picture of the main view from my room. If this is how your highest level owners are treated I would hate to see how others are treated. I have actually contemplated leaving early.
Addendum: It is a few days past my initial review and I have given the Bellagio a chance. I decreased my review from 2 stars to 1 after my experience this morning. We have a service animal (small sweet doodle) with us as we do on all of our trips. She is well traveled. Taking her outside has been an absolute nightmare. There are no convenient exits for animals or guests. Each morning and evening I have taken her outside the lawn by the valet parking area next to the Bellagio entrance sign has been occupied with homeless persons either drunk or passed out. I did encounter 2 very helpful security guards who assisted me but the others were not concerned with this. This morning took the cake! I had 2 men follow me from the inside of the Bellagio casino near the Dior store out to the lawn where I take my dog. One asked me for money and the other asked me where was the bus stop and if I could look something up on my phone for him which I did not have. It was daylight outside and was around 6:45 AM. I was taking my dog out and had nothing but my key on me. This occurred on the Bellagio property. Security did eventually come and directed the men to the bus stop. An additional individual was still passed out on the lawn. This is a Bonvoy “ Luxury” brand. My heart was racing by the time I got back to my room. We are leaving today and will never return to this resort. I would not recommend the...
