An Unforgettable Evening at Spago, Bellagio: A Celebration of Milestones, Service, and Memories Every now and then, you come across a dining experience that transcends the plate and becomes something extraordinary—a night that stays with you, not because of one thing, but because of the harmony between incredible food, impeccable service, and a setting that pulls it all together. For my wife and me, Spago at the Bellagio in Las Vegas became that experience as we celebrated two significant milestones: our 20th wedding anniversary and my retirement after 20 years of service in the USCG. While the food at Spago was absolutely impeccable, the real highlight of our evening was the staff.
From the moment we walked in, Jennifer, the hostess, greeted us with such genuine warmth and professionalism. She didn’t just do her job; she made us feel special. We had a reservation for a regular table inside, but she went above and beyond, arranging for us to be seated outside on the patio. It was such an unexpected and thoughtful gesture. Jennifer’s ability to make us feel like the most important people in the room was unmatched.
What made Jennifer even more special was her attentiveness throughout the night. She came over several times just to check on us, making sure we were having the unforgettable evening she promised. Each time, her bright smile and delightful presence lifted our spirits. She didn’t just ensure our comfort; she took the time to share stories about her journey, her family in Mexico, and her culinary experiences. Her openness and warmth turned a great evening into something even more personal and memorable. She is truly a soul that lights up the room, and Spago is lucky to have her.
Then there was Ben, our server, whose service was simply flawless. Even though it was towards the end of his shift and we could tell he’d had a long day, his energy and kindness never wavered. From the moment he approached our table, his attention to detail, eye contact, and genuine care for our experience stood out. As if the outdoor patio wasn’t enough, Ben took it a step further—moving us to a table as close as possible to the Bellagio fountains. It gave us the most magical front-row view, turning an already beautiful evening into something extraordinary. Ben didn’t just serve us; he took the time to sit down, chat with us, and share stories about his life, making a real connection. As if that wasn’t enough, he also became our photographer for the night, capturing moments we’ll treasure forever.
But again, as incredible as the food was, the staff was the true highlight. Towards the end of the night, we had the pleasure of speaking with Darrin, the manager on duty. His genuine kindness and leadership were immediately apparent. Darrin, thank you so much for your amazing heart—you left us speechless. You know what you did, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. The way you and your team worked together made the entire evening feel like something more than just a meal it became a moment in time that we will cherish forever.
Despite it being late, and no doubt a long day for everyone, Darrin and the staff radiated positivity and warmth. It was clear that their commitment to providing an exceptional experience ran deep, and the effort they put in to make our night perfect did not go unnoticed.
This wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience filled with memories that will last a lifetime. The combination of the breathtaking Bellagio fountains, world-class cuisine, and a staff that made us feel like we were the most important people in the world made this a night we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just incredible food, but also an experience that leaves you feeling cared for and celebrated, Spago at the Bellagio is the...
Read moreOne of the best restaurants that my fiancee and I've ever been to. Highly recommend!
We took our annual trip to Las Vegas in early September of 2022 and for our Sunday night we had a reservation at the Spago by Wolfgang Puck. We did reserve outdoor seating for 7:00 p.m. and everything went perfectly.
The staff, hostess and our waitress were amazingly attentive and helped us understand the menu with any questions we had. This was some of the best services that either of us have ever experienced. The staff was constantly topping off our water and if we needed anything someone was there to help us immediately. They were also very good at not being over bearing or bugging us too much. It was the perfect amount of service if you know what I mean?
The food was amazing and beyond what I was expecting. From presentation to the taste everything was exquisite and well worth the money.
For appetizers we started with the bread and the Chilled Maine lobster and Gulf shrimp coctail: Mighty tasty! I wanted to try one of the larger seafood starters but my fiancee does not eat seafood so I opted for that. It truly was delicious.
For our entrees: I went with the Colorado Lamb Rack and my fiancee choose the Spaghetti Pomodoro. She says that the spaghetti was delicious and very cheesy. She's a big fan of spaghetti and She enjoyed it immensely. The Colorado lamb rack was served on top of some veggies and at first I was worried it would not fill me up but it definitely did. I had a hard time capturing how delicious it truly looks in the picture due to sitting outside in the darker atmosphere but it definitely hit the spot and filled me up. I did get a side of mashed potatoes with it as well and they were so creamy and rich and were outstandingly delicious. I honestly couldn't eat a lot of the mashed potatoes because they were so rich and they were filling me up so much.
For desert: oh my! Thier desserts are out of this world. I went with the Spiked Lemon and the only thing I could compare it to is a lemon drop candy mixed in a cake form. I know that may sound a bit cheap but it is actually one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had in my life. Even though I was completely full I could not stop eating it. The way that it looks was very artsy/fancy and I felt like royalty of sorts...it literally had gold flake tassels hanging from its spikes. The cheesecake that my fiancee went with was also very delicious and some of the best cheesecake I've ever had. Their desserts are truly a must have.
Lastly: sitting outdoors right next to the Bellagio fountains is an very unique dining experience. It truly is an amazing spot to sit and indulge on some delicious eats while viewing the beautiful Bellagio fountains popping off with the Venetian and Paris casinos In the background. I highly recommend you reserve outdoor seating. It does state that they cannot guarantee sitting directly next to the fountains, but if not It is still beautiful. We were one table in from the edge and it was still amazing to see.
This was seriously one of the best dinners we've ever had and definitely one of our new favorite spots that we will make sure we return to next time we go to Vegas. You cannot beat their attentive staff, they're delicious foods, The atmosphere of sitting next to the Bellagio fountains and those amazing desserts.

This evening, my dining experience at Spago in the Bellagio left much to be desired. To begin on a positive note, we were seated promptly despite arriving over 30 minutes late due to unforeseen traffic delays. We had called ahead to inform the restaurant, and the host team was accommodating and courteous about our tardiness.
I was dining with a group of young women. Once seated, we were promptly served water, though it took a noticeable amount of time before our server approached us for drink orders. When our drinks arrived, I ordered several starters for the table, and the server asked if we would like to place our main course orders at the same time. We agreed, not anticipating what would follow.
One of my guests ordered the bread service, which was not complimentary—a detail that’s fine. The bread arrived with butter and an additional spread. The server set it down and began to walk away without explaining what was on the plate. I had to stop and politely ask for clarification, which he then provided briefly.
Unfortunately, the main courses were brought to our table barely two minutes after the appetizers. This overlap made it impossible to enjoy the starters properly, and the table was so overcrowded with plates that it bordered on uncomfortable. If my husband had been dining with us, he would have asked for the mains to be returned to the kitchen until we had finished our first course.
The service continued to decline from there. No dessert menu was ever offered. After waiting some time, our server returned—not with dessert options, but with the bill and the payment machine in hand. I explained that we would be paying separately and asked that the starters be added to my portion. Her reaction was disconcerting. She looked at me in confusion and said, “You’re not paying the whole bill?” I reiterated the request to split the bill accordingly.
Rather than assisting us, she left the payment machine on the table and walked away. At that point, I took it upon myself to manually divide the bill among our group. Having never worked in retail or used this type of terminal before, I taught myself how to operate it—calculating tax, tip, and processing each payment, while also printing individual receipts for everyone at the table.
Despite the lackluster service, we still left an 18% tip—frankly, more than what was earned.
I’ve been visiting Las Vegas for the past 15 years and have dined at many exceptional establishments known for both their cuisine and world-class hospitality. Spago, regrettably, did not live up to that standard.
I cannot help but feel that our group—comprised of young, polite women—was not taken seriously, and the level of service we received was markedly subpar. If I had been accompanied by my husband or a mixed group, I suspect the experience might have been different. Whether this was a case of ageism or simply inattentive service, it is disappointing to encounter this level of disregard at a restaurant of...
