Just got back to our hotel room and felt compelled to write this review whilst everything still fresh in my mind. Re: visit to Outback Steakhouse coke bottle Las Vegas. I ordered bone in Ribeye medium well. Came out perfectly cooked but the meat was tough and chewy. It happens, it's a naturally sourced product. They cooked me another one to replace it. The second one was cooked a little less (medium) in an attempt to make the meat less tough. I asked for medium well (remember). But kitchen staff and restaurant manager know better than me of course. They take matter into their own hands. I'm just a dumb tourist with a dodgy British accent. Anyway, I just eat it, how many times am I going to send it back?!?! - When the bill comes out, they structure it in a way to suggest a 32pct tip on a meal priced at $65.50. Instead of charging me for one steak, they charge me for two steaks and "comp" one. The "suggested" tip calculates it on the pre-comped value. The steak was $40, so the "suggested" tip is based on an overall bill of $105.50 (@20pct = $21). The actual bill, as previously mentioned, was $65.50, hence suggesting a $21 tip on that amount comes out at $21/$65.50 = 32pct. There was no comping - I ordered one steak not two and ate one. The bill should have been prepared to reflect this fact. The waitress and/or management decided to structure the bill in a way to artificially increase the "suggested" tip in an attempt to accrue over 50pct more tip for themselves. Beware of these types of unscrupulous activities by Outback in the Coke bottle in Las Vegas. They obviously believe that British and European tourists are dumb people with weird accents. When I told the waitress about the 32pct suggested tip request, she played the ignorant card by saying, "I don't know, I'm no good at maths!" Like she was totally innocent and not party to, or oblivious to misrepresentation of the food order. I urge you to please beware of the behaviour of the staff at this restaurant. Regarding food....they are very hit and miss. We also visited the same restaurant the week before and both food and service were very good. It is literally down to pot luck who is working in the kitchen and front of house when you visit, but consistency is not their forte. By the way, I gave the waitress a $12.50 tip (19.08pct). In hindsight it was too much given the overall experience. We've been to Vegas every year for the last 15 years apart from 2020 (Covid) and have always visited this restaurant in that time. Unfortunately standards have deteriorated somewhat over the last 2 to 3 years. We will need to find somewhere else to eat steak...
Read moreWe arrived in Vegas early morning and checked into our hotel. We ventured to the strip on the DEUCE and after checking opening time at Outback we decided on lunch there for 1 reason...WE HAD A GIFT CARD. We arrived a bit early and so I killed a little time in the COCA COLA store looking around and finally the 11am cuckoo bird signaled opening. It was confusing to us as how to enter the restaurant, but once we figured out to ENTER the COKE BOTTLE and take the elevator to 4, we were the 1st customers. The restaurant was clean, although I did notice some of the wall decor and booth ledges could use a wipe down ( but that's the restaurant employee in me) but our booth seat, floor and table were clean. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, and took our beverage order and expedited it quickly. We looked over the menu----we do not usually patronize these chains, we search out mom and pops, or unique establishments--but like I said...we had a gift card. The lunch menu, salads and sandwiches looked pretty tasty and my dining companion chose the burger and I chose the prime rib dip with a side of steamed broccoli. We were offered their house bread and butter, to my companions delight and it was yummy. More patrons trickled in... with their special seating requests....by the front window to view the strip.... we sat in a cozy bar booth with a view of televions and liquor bottles and were totally fine with that. Our food took about 10-15 minutes but when delivered, looked great. My sandwich was delicious! It was dripping with melty cheese, and had grilled onions and mushrooms on it. There was plenty of meat and the French onion jus was fantastic. The broccoli was really a nice complement to this caloric indulgence and it was naked and al dente.. just needed a little fresh ground pepper and mange'!! My dining companion enjoyed his bacon cheese burger with fries.... and his COCA COLA as that is the only COLA of choice here in the COCA COLA building! The fries were crisp and the burger was good. We know why patrons would choose to come to Vegas and dine here, they know the menu, they know the price point and the food quality is consistent. I would now revisit, for that delicious prime rib dip! It was worth the trip. Also, the service was hospitable and friendly.... the iced tea was strong and good and served with plenty of lemons. Our server/bartender was organized and professional. The DEUCE stops right out front.... and you can visit the M&M store after your meal. Thanks Outback for a...
Read moreWe came to eat while venturing LV last week on a family vacay just before Christmas and I have to say, the service was probably some of the best I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I wish I could remember the name of the young lady who served us (she was incredible) and the manager also came up and checked on us a few times, made sure our drinks were filled, got us our to-go boxes, it was just very impressive and we tipped her very well!!! I ordered the Bloomin' Burger with fries (very good!) my daughter ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries, and my stepson ordered an 8 oz sirloin with broccoli and baked potato. They all seemed to really like the food but only giving it four stars because the food quality could have been better. My stepson wasn't overly impressed with the steak but said it was pretty good, he's had much better. I guess they don't allow a wood burner in the restaurant to cook their meats because of the health code liability so they cooked it on an open flame but not over mesquite flavor or anything like that. Or you can pan sear it so my stepson had it grilled but wasn't too impressed. My daughter prefers Red Robin or Island's over Outback when it comes to burgers so hers was just ok. I enjoyed mine more than I thought I would. I like my fries a little softer and more steak-fry style than what we were served (compared to Red Robin for example) but I think it depends on your preference. The location is right on the strip, next to the MnM Factory and you actually have to take an elevator to get up to the second floor and it opens right up to the hostess desk. The sign is very visible when you are walking on the strip, but getting there may confuse people with the elevator. There's a sign and someone at a desk that directed us (business on the first floor) and we loved the views you get of the strip. We at there for $65-$70 after tip and that was for soft drinks and 3 lunch entrees. And honestly, this is similar to what we pay in Cali so it was one of our better and more reasonable meals we ate on our trip. I apologize we didn't get food pics because we were starving by the time we got our food but you can see our view is amazing!!! Would...
