Some of the food was absolutely amazing. The breakfast sandwich for example is definitely a favorite. The avocado toast looks incredible, but our party of 5 all recommend passing on it. Note that we did come back a second time and try more food and it was also all hit or miss.
Notice the waiter in the photos? The. Worst. Customer. Service. I have ever had. It started by him not asking us a single time if we needed anything. Note that the glass of water in the photo was empty for a very long time. I took a lot of photos. It was empty and on the edge of the table nearest to where he walked by our table many times. According to my time stamps it was empty for approximately 20 minutes. We even asked him for more water at this point in which he said he would bring some. It never happened.
Finally when our check does come we ask him to split the check for all 5 party members. We each ordered one entree and one mimosa. He seemed absolutely appalled that we asked him to do such a thing. Waiter: UGH, are you sure? Awkward pause Waiter: it will take me a very long time another pause Me: yes please. We would like the bill split Waiter: stares me down Waiter: are you sure? Me: yes please. Waiter: okayyyy, but it will take a while.
He leaves and eventually he comes back with a pad of paper to write down each persons order. Again- one entree, one mimosa per person. I’m not sure why it was so complicated and he couldn’t just split them by one drink with one food item, but he grumpily started asking each person what they had ordered. I tried to assist him and he snapped at me that he could do it.
The worst part is that when he finally got us our individual bills, right as we signed and before we had gotten up to depart, he comes back to the table. Person to person, he picks up each receipt, stops, reads the receipt to examine the tip, and then moves onto the next person. The most awkward experience in dining I have ever had. I have never had a waiter or waitress do this or even pick up the receipt while we were still there. He walked completely around the table doing this while we were still sitting there.
If any of the staff would like to look into it, this happened Saturday, August 13,...
Read moreSalt and Ivy is located on the second floor of Aria near the pool. We went there for a late lunch and were able to get a table after waiting about 5 minutes or so. The restaurant has table seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. The lunch menu had a few salads, a few breakfast items, and a few sandwiches, but I would have preferred it if they had some additional sandwich choices as I had a hard time finding something that I wanted to order for lunch. I didn't want to go with a burger since I was planning on having one later in the day and didn't want to get eggs because I had had those for breakfast already. I decided to try to get something healthy so I ordered something called a Power bowl with kale and quinoa. I'm not really sure why I decided to order that as I've never been a big fan of kale, but suffice it to say I would not order it again. I guess I expected it to be heavier on the quinoa with less kale in it however this had tons of kale and not that much dressing so it just didn't really appeal to me but again I chalk that up to my own mistake in ordering something that I probably wouldn't like. My husband ordered a wedge salad which did not really look like a traditional wedge salad to me, but he said it was great. A lot of customers seemed to be ordering burgers or steak sandwiches which looked really good as I saw them passing by our table. If I return to Vegas I would definitely give salt and ivy another try but this time I think I would order a burger. Their lemonade is also apparently homemade and my husband said it was fantastic. I tried the hand squeezed pineapple and orange juices which were both delicious...
Read moreDon't be deceived. This is a Vegas breakfast. Too expensive. All looks not as great as it seems. We were excited for the menu. We waited in line around fifteen minutes. No worries. the from we were sat it was a couple of me nutes and we were given glasses of water. It was another 20 minutes before we saw our waiter. Normally I don't care but I wanted some coffee.
The waiter wanted our order. There was no "pour over coffee" I ordered drip. There was no talking just ordering. Then he disappeared.
Our food as tepid at best. The toast on companions plate wasn't warm enough to spread the butter. His good looked beautiful but his omlet was rubbery despite a pale color.
My chicken and waffles were also room temperature when served. The waffle was gummy in the middle and there was a huge piece of deep fried curly leaf kale between the waffle and the chicken. It shattered all over my food. I am sensitive to kale. Nothing on the menu suggested there would be kale. I saw it on one omelet which I avoided. I spent ten minutes picking kale shards from my food. I thought it was fine. It was not fine.
We ordered a side of monkey bread with creme anglais. The creme anglais was tepid, grainy and broken.
The waiter never came back to the table to ask how our food was. In fact, they didn't do that at any of the tables around us. Nor did a manager. My coffee wasn't refilled until we were ready for the check. At which point I excused myself to the.powder room to deal with the complications from the kale. The restroom was out of soap. I managed to avoid crying but...
