One fateful afternoon, I decided to dine at the Steak 'N Shake within the Oyo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. My visit left me with mixed feelings, but the predominant issue was the incessant playing of "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. It was as if the song had taken up permanent residence in the restaurant. As someone who despises this tune, it made for an extremely uncomfortable dining experience.
I had heard great things about the food at Steak 'N Shake, and my expectations were high. However, the dish I ordered turned out to be a disappointment. The burger and fries I received were remarkably bland, and the overwhelming taste of mediocrity was only exacerbated by the constant blaring of "Radioactive" in the background.
Imagine trying to savor your meal when you're met with a cacophony of "Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh" blaring from the speakers. It's difficult to appreciate the flavors when you're desperately trying to drown out the music.
The situation became so unbearable that I considered leaving the restaurant altogether. The staff seemed oblivious to the fact that their musical selection was driving away customers. The constant repetition of "Radioactive" made it nearly impossible to enjoy my food or carry on a conversation.
It's disheartening that such a renowned restaurant chain, known for its classic diner ambiance, would ruin its reputation by subjecting patrons to such an auditory assault. I expected a pleasant and tasteful dining experience but found myself in a musical nightmare.
I would strongly advise anyone with a strong aversion to "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons to steer clear of this Steak 'N Shake location. The combination of lackluster food and relentless, tone-deaf song choices makes for an unappetizing visit. I left feeling more frustrated than satisfied.
In summary, my visit to the Steak 'N Shake at Oyo Hotel and Casino was overshadowed by the constant blaring of "Radioactive" and the subpar meal I received. I sincerely hope they reconsider their choice of background music and focus on improving the quality of their food to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future customers.
I ordered the number two ($14 after tax), and attached below is a photo of how it was served. Would not recommend...
Read moreWe just ate lunch here, and with all the options in Vegas I would strongly suggest you eat elsewhere. This place is a disastee. Dispite the place being 80% empty it took 10 min to get service to even get water. I ordered a drink and after 15 min when it still hadn’t come I had to flag down our server and she pointed to the bar and said she was still waiting for it. The apparent bartender had gone on break leaving only a barback to serve all of the guests at the massive bar as well as do service bar. After asking again why I still didn’t have my drink the manager brings it over when we are halfway through our meal. Oh and the food arrived Luke warm and we were missing fries and a salad. The manager returns with the salad and promises the fries are being cooked. 10 min later still no fries and we have finished eating. We finally get our servers attention to ask about the fries and she doesn’t even seem to realize there was a problem with never arriving. I was also informed that rail drinks were $6 and when the bill came they were $8.50, not a huge price difference, but when I had to basically track down my drink I was not pleased. To round out this experience when I spoke to the manager about all the disappointing aspects of our meal his resolution was to have us come back tomorrow and he would give a 15% discount... are you kidding me??!?! I wouldn’t spend another dime there. This place needs new management and a better...
Read moreThis is not a blame on our waitress at all she took down all the orders correctly but when our food came out one of the people in my group (4 total people) didn't receive his meal at all. So we sat there and waited maybe it was just finishing up being cooked, 20 minutes later after I had gotten up asked for a manager she finally comes over, now just to clarify we had to wait for the manger for almost 10 minutes also the staff didn't know where she was and asks what's wrong . We tell her we haven't received one of our meals and the rest of us had finished eating, so she goes back to the kitchen and brings him his food almost a half hour later since the other 3 of us got our food. Now most common courtesy would be to either comp his meal or at least give SOME kind of discount for the mistake but did she no. Once again I had to ask someone to get the manager because I don't feel right paying for that. She refused to comp the meal saying it wasn't company policy since that brought out his food and he ate it. After taking to her and giving her what my perspective is on the station she agreed to dive him $3 off his meal. So because of the manager never will I come back to steak n shake here at the Hooters hotel. I had never had steak n shake before coming here and with this one experience I will probably not...
