Our recent visit to Wicked Spoon was nothing short of a disaster due to the unprofessional behavior of the manager, Sheri.

We came to Vegas for a convention with our family, including two small children (a 3-year-old and a 7-month-old). We decided to visit Wicked Spoon again because it seemed like a decent option for kids, though the food was mediocre. On our second visit, we stood in line for about 35 minutes with our children. Once we got to the front, we waited in a second line to be seated. Naturally, the kids started getting restless, but we remained patient.

After another 10 minutes, we asked to be seated at a booth for the comfort of our family. The hostess told us a table was being cleaned, so we waited. However, even after the table was ready, the hostess ignored us and seated several parties who had arrived after us. At this point, our younger child was crying, and my younger brother suddenly got a nosebleed. My mom had to start breastfeeding while standing in line—yet, despite our clear need, the hostess continued seating others while we waited.

We had now been waiting for nearly an hour when I approached the manager, Sheri, to explain our situation. I politely explained that my mom was breastfeeding, our kids were upset, and we had been waiting for too long. Instead of listening, Sheri responded with a robotic attitude, repeating the phrase, “You have to wait until you’re invited to sit.” Despite our polite request, she showed no empathy or understanding of our situation.

When I asked why we couldn’t sit at the table that was already clean, Sheri responded with an attitude, offering either a longer wait or a refund. She even tried to grab the check from my mom’s hand while she was breastfeeding, which was incredibly disrespectful. When I pointed out how unprofessional her behavior was, she declared that she was refusing service and threatened to call security if we didn’t leave.

To our shock, Sheri called security on our family—two women and two small children. Four security guards arrived to deal with what should have been a simple seating issue. The security officers were professional and sympathetic; one even suggested that we report Sheri to the general manager, as it was clear we were not the ones causing a problem.

We followed their advice and spoke with the general manager of the Cosmopolitan, who was equally shocked by Sheri’s behavior. He apologized for the incident and provided us with a voucher, assuring us that a formal report would be filed.

This experience was incredibly humiliating for my family. My mom had to breastfeed while standing in line, and our children were upset and hungry. After being treated so poorly, we had to spend another hour finding another place to eat. Fortunately, we ended up at Mon Ami in the Paris Hotel, where the staff was incredibly accommodating. They gave us priority seating due to the children and made sure my mom had a comfortable space to breastfeed. The difference between the service at Mon Ami and Wicked Spoon was night and day.

Sheri’s behavior was inexcusable from start to finish. Rather than helping resolve the situation, she escalated it unnecessarily, acting more like a power-tripping authority figure than a manager responsible for customer service. Her attitude toward our family was dismissive, and she showed zero empathy, particularly toward a mother with small children.

I hope the management at Wicked Spoon and the Cosmopolitan take this matter seriously. Families should never be treated this way. The situation was completely avoidable if Sheri had shown a basic level of professionalism and decency. Instead, she left us feeling humiliated and...

Terrible Food & Racist Waitress

First of all, the food quality is very poor, at a failing standard. Even the $19.99 buffets in New York seem to put in more effort than they do. The dessert section looked like a collection of cheap, overly plastic-looking items. The sushi section offered very few choices, and the fish was dull and obviously not fresh. The strangest part? I’m not sure if it was just the time we visited or something else, but we couldn’t find any beef dishes after searching several times. That’s right—not even talking about high-end ingredients like Wagyu or ribeye. Even in the barbecue or Chinese sections, which don’t demand the highest meat quality, there were only options like bacon, sausage, and turkey—no beef at all. Having lived in the U.S., a country that leads the world in per capita beef consumption, this was the first time I’ve seen a buffet with no beef whatsoever. At one point, I seriously wondered if this place was run by South Asians.

Secondly, I have to specifically rant about their snow crab legs. How do I put this? I generally assume the worst when judging a restaurant’s intentions. So when my family member asked me if the black dots all over the snow crab legs I brought back (see photo) were parasite eggs, I tried to argue, "Maybe it’s just sesame seeds." But after Googling it on the spot, it turned out those were indeed some kind of parasite eggs. Technically, they’re harmless and won’t kill you, but if you have any standards for food quality higher than livestock feed, I doubt you’d feel that serving this at $70 per person shows even a shred of respect for the customer. The crab legs were, unsurprisingly, ridiculously salty. When I cracked one open, the meat was shrunken and shriveled inside the shell, blatantly revealing its long and miserable history of months—if not years—sitting in a freezer. If any Chinese restaurant or supermarket in Flushing or anywhere in California dared to put crab legs of this standard on their shelves, they’d probably be roasted online and forced to shut down the very next day.

Speaking of disrespect, congratulations! Dining here gives you the rare opportunity to experience life 100 years ago in America’s "golden age," but from the perspective of an Asian face. For example, you’ll find that the cheerful white waitress Lisa will vanish into thin air right after flashing you a bright, standard American smile. The iced Americano you ordered will take 20 minutes to arrive, only to turn into a hot coffee. Your table will be piled high with dirty plates and discarded crab legs that no one comes to clear. And when you cautiously remind Lisa after seeing her chatting and laughing with the white family at the next table for three minutes, she’ll freeze her smile, impatiently tell you she knows but is very busy, and walk away. Finally, 54 minutes into your dining experience, your ice cubes will arrive—with a bang—as they’re slammed onto your table.

All in all, we had a great trip to Vegas, but this dining experience was awful. The day we ate here was an important one for us, but the terrible meal nearly ruined our mood for the entire day. This is a grudge we won’t forget, so I wrote this long rant to hopefully serve as a...

Father’s Day 2025 Review - 6-15-25:

Came with my wife and 3 year old daughter for a morning buffet before we left back home.

Everytime I go to Vegas, buffet(s) have to make the list for must dos on the trip, we went to Wynn for dinner on Friday for context on my review.

First off Cosmoplitan to me compared to Wynn from strictly getting off on a taxi and experiencing both is night and day.

Wynn feels old and the buffet feels stuffed with people and outdated food options (which from Friday I was like ok yes this was what we expected having been to Wynn buffet many times) whereas Cosmopolitan to me in 2025 is 10x a better environment for a premium modern Vegas and the food was like a chef touched every section of the Cosmopolitan buffet. My wife and I grabbed plate after plate of all must try items and options you barely ever get to experience. The bone marrow they served (need the name and how it’s done ASAP) from the presentation to small plate to taste was one that stood out but I literally could name 10 other items that also I am thinking about now on Sunday evening having landed 8 hours ago.

Even randomly the crab legs which to me is not a big deal as it’s at every buffet we’re again what you would expect if a chef made sure every piece you ate would be easier to pull the meat out of, the taste feeling wow these are freshly made to even the butter was 100x the frozen ish wack ones at Wynn.

Also I don’t care to leave reviews even if something was amazing normally but I really feel people need to experience this buffet when coming to Vegas over others having been coming to Vegas as a kid to now being 39 not much when it comes to food in Vegas is an experience anymore or going to be a highlight but this definitely was.

Side note: My reservation was for 10am but we wanted to come early so we could spend more time in our own hotel after we ate and before we headed to the airport and they took us in at 9amish and didn’t even make us wait. So special props the entire staff I saw whether we interacted or not was happy to be there even on Fathers Day. That says a lot to me as well about probably they pay more to employees and value quality over profits way more then stuffing 1000s of people in at Wynns old looking environment...
