Now, let's do this the right way. First of all, this place is amazing. I will go into detail as best I can. My biggest regret is not remembering my waiters name. She was kind and patient. We were first-timers, my wife and I. Check-in: I made reservations, and they were respected and were let in 13 minutes early.
You are guided to your seats and were thanked for your choice to dine there. Most places wouldn't care, which is a poor practice. I felt welcomed right from the door. Service: Again, our server was amazing. She made things very easy as this place can feel overwhelming at first, but it's just our anxiety being around so many people. But, she gave us direction to the appetizer table, which is self-serve. The options are fantastic from the start. Delicious and fresh cheeses, meat, olives, fruit, salad, and dressings. Just don't fill up on these options.
Food: I have eaten great cuts of meat, mostly in nyc. Which, Some establishments are experts of the craft(previous experience). I have to admit the meat here is superb, delicious? No, it is extremely satisfying. They cooked the meat in such a way that it melted in your mouth. Your knife will cut through it as of though it is a hot knife slicing into butter. (Small exaggeration, but serious on how tender the meat is). I must say I'm not much of a fan for chicken or lamb. But this experience was so well received, I loved the chicken, and it isn't just seasoned. It's unique in flavors, and the other option was wrapped in bacon. Salty and spicey were the result. No complaints here. The servers will come and give you a respectful amount of meat. They were also very nice and courteous as we would ask questions. I felt we never flipped our coin to stop, but at some point, we had to tap. We were also given these little cheese breads that were amazing( it has a name, but I forgot, sorry) and mash potatoe, which is also complimentary, by the way, was good.
Drinks:: we ordered a few, the prices were perfect, the drinks were very well balanced. I would highly recommend the Brazilian drink caipirinha. Seriously, it's such a great drink. The strawberry version was good, but I felt it isn't necessary to add the fruit. That's just me. I also tried a mix cocktail that had bourbon and malbec, it was also very good. Again, I forgot the name, I should have done this review earlier, lol.
Dessert: The creme bruilee is the shining star, in my opinion. My wife absolutely loved it as well. It comes with fresh fruit as well. We also tried the chocolate mountain one with what I believe was vanilla bean ice cream. My kids went crazy for it. I wish I had seen they also have special drinks with coffee, but that's okay. On my next visit, I must try the espresso martini.
My wife: she had an amazing time, and the bathrooms were very sanitized and as clean as you can imagine. Very professional, and the standards are pleasing. Her being from uruguay, she said nothing has come close to home as the quality of meat she had the pleasure enjoying that night.
Pros: the entire atmosphere, the amazing servers, professional , clean, high quality, above average meats and appetizer, desserts are worth it, no small portions, drinks were above average, price meets expectations and experience, heavy person accessibility(not tight corners, I'm a little heavy and was comfortable), anyone with a blue shirt will help you = not having to wait or signal one person the whole night(personal pro), seating area if you're waiting, appetizers are fresh and of good quality.
Cons: I really had to see if I had anything between myself and my wife. When offered what type of water for the table , sparkling water is an extra charge. Yes, my wife made me aware it's normal, and I should have known. But just mentioning that there is a charge, IS my preferred preference. But let's not nick pick here. I will be returning 100%, especially with my children.
Overall: this is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. This is a must visit, highly...
Read moreCame to Fogo de Chao with our family for Father’s Day and this was hands down the worst experience we’ve had here for multiple reasons. Taking into account that it was Father’s Day and despite being seated 35 minutes after our reservation, the filthy flatware, this review is lenient compared to what I really want to say…. And keep in mind while reading this lengthy review that we were all very polite and courteous to our servers during the course of the evening. For starters, we were seated upstairs, where the meat selections came around sparingly, with whatever the guests from downstairs didn’t eat. Their house steak came around over a dozen times, and the garlic steak 7 times, whereas the filet mignon came around once, after we asked for it, repeatedly. The chicken? More times than I dare count. The pork? Almost as many. The cheese with the honey….. don’t get me started on the cheese. It came around once. Despite asking every server for it that stopped by our table, the cheese never made a reappearance. Our waitress and another waitress began arguing quite loudly on the floor, by the computer, about who wasn’t “coming correct” to the other one with the conversation intensifying before another employee quietly told them to stop. Not the time nor the place, but what do I know? Thereafter, any time we asked a server for anything, including more water, an update on our beverages after waiting 25 minutes for a soda, the French fries we ordered when we ordered our entrees that were brought to the table an hour later and were given the excuse “the kitchen is backed up” yet every other table around us, that sat after us, got their fries, we received attitude from almost every server, except one (she had glasses and was quite pleasant compared to our waitress and her rival). When we asked for an update on our beverages, we were addressed with attitude by our waitress’ nemesis stating “did you order them? Someone will get them to you eventually. I’m busy”. The service was horrible. Now it’s time for dessert, we ordered 4 desserts….. and got 3. The poor food runner, nice kid, brought us our 4th dessert and apologized numerous times, unlike the rest of the staff. All in all, I think our actual server, came to our table 5 or 6 times during our ridiculously long, 2 1/2 hour visit. Had the service been swift and efficient, we would’ve and should’ve been out of there in an under 90 minutes since we were a larger party. It worked out though, because I’m writing this review as I wait for more water. You know what did come quickly? The check. Didn’t even ask for it and they dropped it off while we were two bites in to our desserts. Didn’t even ask if we wanted anything else. They just assumed we were done. Ultimately, never coming back here again. If we decide to give Fogo de Chao another chance, I’d rather drive 2+ hours to the King of Prussia location or deal with Manhattan before stepping foot in here again and being treated so poorly while spending...
Read moreHands down, not only the worst Brazilian steakhouse experience, but restaurant experience in general. Especially for the price!!! My credentials are I love steak houses, and I’ve been to Brazil.
When our waiter took our drink order, that was the first and last time we saw him. Thank god the bartender could mix a strong drink! I got a Cucumber Mint Smash which was refreshing, and perfectly balanced with sugar. My sister ordered a Strawberry Hibiscus Caipirinha which was saccharine, it took 15 minutes to wave someone down so she could exchange it.
We opted for the $72 p/ person Full Churrasco experience that promised a variety of juicy cuts.
For the first HOUR that we sat at our table, the only server who consistently came up to us was offering grilled cheese. Other than that we were offered parmesan pork ONE time, which was incredibly dry and heavily salted, and chicken drumsticks ONE time. I did not try the chicken because I don’t care for chicken when I’m paying for a steak experience.
Finally a server came over with sirloin. There was no steak sauce on the table, so I waved down a random waitress, because ours was invisible, and asked for the sauce. I patiently waited for her to bring it out, but when I realized she had also disappeared with her promise, I gave up and had a bite of the meat by which time it was cold and chewy.
At our request, our plates were exchanged for clean ones, and when my plate was empty because again no one was coming up to us with meat, the waitress brought out the steak sauce. At Fogo De Chao you either get steak with no sauce, or sauce with no steak. Dealer’s choice.
So, we asked for the manager. Joseph came up to our table, and before we could even open our mouths to explain the issue, our conversation was interrupted by every single waiter at the restaurant loudly offering all the meats we should’ve already tried 50 mins ago. Honestly, I found this a very cheap trick orchestrated by Joseph.
The ribeye was the only piece of meat I actually enjoyed. The lamb (chops) stunk of game. The few other steak pieces I tried were either dry or chewy.
I don’t even want to get into the Feijoada bar, let’s just say it was underwhelming. The highlight of my night was the fried polenta of which I asked extra of, but we were brought extra plantains and mashed potatoes instead. The potatoes were stretchy, and the plantains were greasy.
Once Joseph walked away, so did the waiters with the meat. In about 15 minutes Joseph walked by us and our empty plates and asked “Is everything okay?” as my sister started to speak, in the middle of her opening sentence, he walked away. We were so shocked we burst out laughing.
That’s when we decided we’ve had enough of this “experience” and got the check. This was the first time in my life I did not leave a tip, nor did I feel...
