The bowl of ramen I had at EAK Ramen in Garden State Plaza, Paramus, was an unforgettable experience, and this photo captures exactly why. This was their signature Shoyu Ramen, and every element of it was outstanding. The broth had a creamy, golden hue with visible richness—loaded with flavor, but not overly oily. It had a deep, savory base that hinted at soy and slow-simmered bones, resulting in a comforting, umami-packed taste.
Floating in the broth were two perfectly torched slices of chashu pork—tender with crispy edges that added a smoky depth to the bowl. The seasoned egg was cooked to perfection, with a delicate outer white and a rich, slightly runny yolk that blended beautifully with the broth. The fresh spinach provided a nice textural contrast and a slight bitterness that balanced the richness.
The diced onions added brightness, and the broth-to-fat ratio was spot-on—indulgent but not greasy. While the noodles were hidden beneath in this shot, they were firm and bouncy, holding the broth well with every bite. EAK clearly nails the details that elevate a simple ramen bowl into something crave-worthy. It’s the kind of meal you remember—and one I’ll absolutely return for. This is comfort food...
Read moreWe needed a place to grab quick lunch on Saturday noon, so decided to try out this newly opened restaurant in GSP. The store is next to Macy’s watch section entrance. It is mainly self served. You have to put in your order at register and then pick it up when order number is called. They have a huge dining area, with regular/high chairs and tables.
We ordered the takoyaki, karaage, shrimp bao, curry over rice with chicken and EAK Shoyu ramen. Impressively, the whole order was ready in couple of minutes. I loved the taste of all the items., especially takoyaki and kareage chicken. Shrimp in the bao was good but needed some sauce. Ramen’s broth was tasty. Noodles were good. Overall I was really pleased with the food quality and the experience, being self-served, didn’t require paying additional...
Read moreStaff and food quality here is good. I am a new yorker turned new jersian so finding out this location was opening brought me so much excitement. Me and my wife have been regulars at the E.A.K location on food row in manhattan for years now. The overall experience and atmosphere along with the food are what drove us to continue returning. Again the food quality is good, but understand my frustration/disappointment when finding out this was a take out/fast service location rather than an actual restaurant similar to that of the food row location. My wife and I unfortunately will not be returning to this location in the westfield mall, but hope for the continued success of the E.A.K...
