I regularly visit Seasons 52 in Edison, NJ, and it’s one of my favorite restaurants to dine at with my family. Naturally, we expected the same level of quality and service at this location, but unfortunately, we left quite disappointed. Our party of six was seated within a reasonable time despite not having a reservation, which was a good start. The staff was friendly, but our waiter was inattentive—he didn’t bring us water and started taking our order before we had finished deciding. While we tried to be understanding, as he may have been overwhelmed, we mostly ordered appetizers. When they arrived, we realized we had no plates and had to ask another server to bring them. The food itself was hit or miss. The tuna tartare was good, but the Moscow mules were tasteless and barely had any liquor. We swapped them for different drinks, which were stronger but had an unpleasant taste—not bad enough to send back, but certainly not enjoyable. We also ordered four stuffed mushroom appetizers, a favorite of ours at the Edison location, but they lacked the rich flavor we were expecting. The meatballs were okay but a bit too hard. Adding to our frustration, the servers asked if they could take away our tuna tartare while we were still eating it. For my entrée, I tried the rainbow trout for the first time, and it was good. However, our waiter never checked in to see how our food was, which reinforced how inattentive he was throughout the meal. While we didn’t order a lot, Seasons 52 isn’t cheap, and given the price, the food and service were disappointing. It was surprising to see such a noticeable difference in quality between locations, and unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to expectations.

My MIL loves Seasons 52, and now that I've dined there, I don't get it. Our party of 4 came by on a Friday night at around 5 for her birthday celebration. To start, we had: -Roasted mushroom flatbread - this was good. You can't really go wrong with flatbread at these types of places though. It's basically just like a pizza -Slow roasted meatballs - this was either overcooked, or they didn't have fatty meat in it because it was pretty dry -Lump crab cake - $15 for one is a robbery because it tasted like it was mostly breadcrumbs For my main, I had the wood-grilled shrimp and grits. This wasn't bad but I don't think it was worth it for $24. We also shared a side of the truffled risotto which was again, only okay. Just the way it looked, it didn't look very appetizing. It looked almost like a cold oatmeal. I was trying to see if we could order some kind of dessert and have a candle be presented with it for my MIL's birthday. But our waitress was nowhere to be found, so I went to the back area, where a bunch of servers were just slacking off. I asked if they could relay the message to my server, and they assured me they would and that they could bring a birthday dessert out. And of course they never did. So that was a little annoying. We ended up getting those little pudding cup desserts, all of which were too sweet. Seasons 52 seems like a higher end chain. And by higher end, I mean they charge more for food but it's still mediocre. I wouldn't come back here on my own and I think if my MIL wants to come here again, I'll have to try and help steer her in another direction.

This review is given in the context of a private party held at Seasons 52 in the Sonoma Room, a beautiful space which is capable of hosting 50 people. As you can see in the pictures, this modern and elegant space had several long tables, a wide screen TV and the capability to play your music over speakers. The brick, wood paneling, painting and spherical chandeliers are nice touches. (Please note that the center pieces, runners and name cards were our own and not part of Season 52's service.) The Sonoma room was a subdivision of a larger room as we could see the sliding partitions which make up one wall (refer to pictures). Credenzas line 2 sides of the room to hold your gifts, etc. The final wall is actually windows into the restaurant covered by heavy curtains. We were served by 3 persons: a host with whom you can coordinate and two servers. They were nice, polite, prompt with service and knew not to disturb the event in progress. In our case, it was a significant milestone birthday. I have a picture of the event's menu which included: - Flatbreads: roasted tomato and pesto chicken and fresh mozzarella (these are basically fancy pizzas) - Rotisserie half chicken - Cedar plank-roasted salmon - Brick-oven seasonal gnocchi - Mini indulgence desserts At the end of the meal, coffee and tea were offered. All of these offerings were delicious and I highly recommend all of them. Overall, the restaurant afforded us a very nice experience for our birthday. For your next event, do consider holding it at Seasons 52.

Went there for the first time early in the week with an old coworker/friend. She recommended it as she has been there before with a few friends. It was very close to home so it was very convenient. The place is beautiful and clean. You can see the chefs cooking through the glass window. I had the filet mignon and lobster, which was perfectly cooked. The drinks- my the drinks were great! My favorite was the ginger mule but the strawberry basil - I think was a martini- was just as good if you have a sweet tooth. Had the watermelon and some sort of pink lemonade as well- both I believe had vodka in it, was ok. The ice seemed to water them down. But the mule was to die for. The appetizer we chose was a flatbread with chicken and it was absolutely delicious. Desert was the cutes thing. They bring it out to you to see and and it’s in mini glasses, with about 6 different options. One of them had a cannoli, that’s the one I had, and it was great!!! We ate good that day. Our waiter, Kevon, was super sweet and took the time to talk to us. Very nice guy and very good server.

That weekend I planned another reservation there for my daughter’s off to college dinner. Unfortunately, a few members could not make it, which reduced our party amount but the place did not disappoint, yet again. I specifically described that we were celebrating her and I requested Kevon to serve us again. The host made sure to take note on that and congratulated her and even shared that he graduated from the same school. The more she hears that others have been there and graduated from there, the less nervous she feels. I really appreciated that. Kevon took care of us once again and was very kind and courteous to us ladies. He made sure to congratulate my daughter as well. Service was perfect, yet again. The food, emasculate as before. My daughter, like most teens, loves nothing more than to eat great food. She was very happy with stuffed mushrooms, Mac and cheese and filet mignon and lobster. Of course she handed off her potatoes and asparagus to my mom. 😂 we shared some artichoke appetizer (I did not try it as I don’t like artichokes) but the family seemed happy. They ate the salmon dish, rainbow fish, and I had the filet mignon. everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had less alcohol this time 😂 as I was with family but I stuck to the ginger mule. We shared a tomato flatbread which of course was perfect. Dessert, I knew my family would love the size and presentation. Everyone loved the food and the family was happy to know that every dish served us no more than 600 calories. They also change the dishes by season- guess hence the name. And honestly speaking for the amount of food, drinks, dessert, appetizers- the price was perfect! Not expensive at all surprisingly. Great place, great food, great drinks, great service, great location (behind Eddie Vs at the Westfield mall)- I will definitely be back here again as it is...

My husband and I normally go to Seasons 52 on a regular basis and dine inside the restaurant and are quite happy and satisfied with their service and meals. Today, Hubby and I arrived at 6:35 and decided to dine outside. The Host did not recommend the 2 tables next to the door, but the one after the table that was next to the door. We sat and as we waited I noticed one couple was assigned to the 1st table by the door and then another couple at the other table by the door. They were waited on and received their water and drinks and appetizers. I decided to get up and walk back in the restaurant to the host and asked if my husband and I were forgotten. I then see how the host is telling our waitress something and she looked upset. When the waitress comes to us she apologizes as she did not know she had the table. Jenelly was very sweet and kind. The manager Neyda, came out and stated our 1st drinks were on the house. Hubby and I put in our order, appetizers and main course. My husband gets his appetizers first and I get mine 10mins later. I finished my appetizer about 7:05 and we get our meals at 7:50pm. My main meal was a raw Tuna Salad with grilled scallops and grilled shrimp on skewers. A whole 45 mins later mind you the 2 couples that were seated after us had finished their meals and left. The bill was ridiculous and I did not eat my main meal or scallops and shrimp. As I'm explaining to the Manager Neyda, how I felt regarding the late service, all she did was give me a 1 up eyebrow look as if I was exaggerating and was dismissive. That's when I told her I was not going to pay for my meal, which I did not get to eat and enjoy at the restaurant. I guess all she was worried about is sales and events. The executive Chef, Matthew Christopher was nice and gave a sincere apology. However, at that point I was HANGRY.... I left so dissatisfied and disappointed. Make sure if you sit outside to dine you're...

My party had Tenderloin salad x2, butternut squash gnocchi, wood grilled salmon, Philly cheesesteak flatbread, and pepperoni flatbread…. First the flatbreads:

The cheesesteak flatbread was the best menu item we had, by far. The toppings were well seasoned and plentiful.

The pepperoni flatbread had way too many tomatoes which overpowered the rest of the flatbread.

The salads were extremely bland… lacked any creativity, and the tenderloin (steak) that came with the salad didn’t even have a pinch of salt.. dry as well…

The gnocchi dish was clearly a seasonal dish since it had butternut squash, but it was way too much for an entree sized portion… perhaps it would have been better as a side, which we don’t think was offered…

Finally, the salmon dish came raw and needed to be sent back.. that meant that when it was recooked and brought back to us, we were completely done eating, so one person was left eating alone.

Overall, the menu selection was small and didn’t have that wide of a variety.. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, and it wasn’t too busy, however, I thought the kitchen was a bit slow.. the prices were average and the staff was nice and courteous. The menu seems to be able to keep the calorie count of each dish to be below 595 calories, which is nice however it limits the variety of customers, and it is also not advertised anywhere as a “healthy” or “light” menu until you sit down. Be advised that we did not have wine which occupies one whole side of the menu, and I am judging this experience without any alcoholic beverages. This may be enjoyable for the atmosphere or for the large selection of wine, however, I don’t plan to come back because of the very limited menu. Wish this...
