I've crunched the numbers, ate at many sushi places, and have even read through the reviews. There are two rules for sushi that I've seen passed around and used: one that says that places within the 3-4 star range are the best, and one where food is better when you're hungry. I've worshipped those rules for a while now, respecting them as a recipe for a perfect sushi restaurant. That was until last Saturday, a day that struck the rules down as if they were the concept of time travel to modern science.
The atmosphere is quite dreamlike, clean, and refreshing. Our waiter, Tyler, knows our names, and is an extremely personable guy. The menu is great, and as someone who often orders the bento box or other food, it's incredibly nice to have the option for both sushi and non-sushi items. The menus are descriptive, interesting, and contain great information about the food. Sushi is left onto a wooden slab, one that is barely recognizable over the forest of garnish surrounding it. Presentation is no joke here. It's as if designers from some of the multi-billion dollar companies had decided to drop their jobs, and come down to this place to create their own works of art within this restaurant. Even if you don't like sushi, seeing the way it's done and bestowed upon your table is unlike anything else. The food is even better. The appetizers are not only tasty, but the textures are completely involved in the taste and feel of the food. This place is as if there were millions of reincarnations of sushi restaurants, building off of itself of the trials and errors that it has left behind.
As to explain my own biases, I must admit some to leave honesty within this review.
1: This is the second time I've come here. The data margin is much more narrow than other competitors (and it's also more narrow because of me buying only the ramen the first time, testing the shrimp tempura, batman, and rice.) 2: The waiter remembers each of our names. That's something that I love, so I may be biased in that way. (Mine is easy to remember (I'm named Tyler too), but he knows my Mom and Dad's name) 3: I'm writing this review as I'm here, eating the chicken tempura roll. Take that info as you will.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the new sushi restaurant in town and was absolutely delighted with the entire experience. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were struck by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was chic and modern, with warm lighting and comfortable seating, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal.
We were greeted by the friendly staff who promptly seated us at a table and provided us with menus. As we perused the extensive selection of sushi rolls and other traditional Asian dishes, we couldn't help but notice the display of fresh fish behind the counter. It was clear that this restaurant takes pride in using only the highest quality ingredients, a fact that was evident in the flavors of the food.
We decided to start with some edamame and a selection of sushi rolls, and were blown away by the flavors and quality of the food. Each roll was expertly crafted and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The fish was incredibly fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. It was some of the best sushi we had ever tasted.
But the sushi was just the beginning. We also decided to try the ramen and were equally impressed by the depth of flavor and quality of the ingredients. The broth was rich and savory, with perfectly cooked noodles and a variety of toppings that added texture and flavor. It was a truly satisfying and comforting dish.
Throughout the meal, the service provided by the staff was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring that our experience was top-notch from start to finish. They were able to recommend dishes based on our preferences and answered all of our questions with a smile.
By the time we left, we were completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. This restaurant truly deserves its five-star rating and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Asian cuisine. The combination of fresh ingredients, expertly crafted dishes, and excellent service make this a standout...
Read moreedit: we went back and it was even better this time which seems impossible because it was so great last time. They also have cute little Japanese cups now. ❤️
Omg this place is so good. I almost don't want to share my review because I like that they were not that busy but that's not fair for them haha.
But everything was authentic and delicious and the service was so attentive. They gave us some really beautiful cuts of fish as well. The salmon was picture perfect. And then we got some delightful Toro handrolls. Honestly I want to go in right now because my mouth is watering just reviewing them the day after.
They also took the time to make us a really nice boat for presentation which isn't too common when you are just ordering a handful of rolls. So that was really nice of them to go out of their way to give us a special presentation.
And every single food item was perfectly delicious and authentic. From the miso to the cucumber salad to the jalapeno yellowtail yuzu. I loved everything.
My only regret is I did order a tiny bit too much trying to find a roll that my daughter liked so we did waste about the equivalent of a full roll and I do hate that but oh well. We were pretty close to ordering the correct amount of food haha. Blame my picky daughter lol.
And the seaweed salad and cucumber salad were both very generous portions that surprised me. But I love cucumber salad so I was happy to keep munching on that throughout my meal.
I guess the only thing I didn't like was the cup choice for the tea. I just don't like American dishes when I'm eating Japanese food like give me a little Japanese cup thank you haha but of course that's just me nitpicking.
All in all I was impressed with the quality of the food and very happy to have such great service. I will definitely be back. This is probably the best Japanese place near Castle Rock that I have found so far. Domo...
