This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. When the chef's take people's allergies seriously, the food can be amazing. The past few times we went, not only the chef, but the owner himself disregarded my father and I when it came to our mushroom allergy. We clearly stated our allergy multiple times when ordering, and he and I get violently ill if we even accidentally consume a small piece of mushroom. We stressed this, not once, but every single time we have gone in and placed an order. This will be the third time one of our meals has been contaminated after saying we are extremely allergic. Not only was the owner unapologetic for giving us contaminated food, he was saying, "You will be ok.", when we mentioned the severity of the allergy. He was very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Not to mention, the kitchen has a disastrous amount of cross contamination. I had ordered a Boba Tea, and there was a fried onion chunk in the bottom on the drink. It was absolutely atrocious to be enjoying something so simple, then have it ruined by sucking an onion up through the straw. If you have a severe allergy to any food, please DO NOT go here, they will not take you seriously and that could not only make you ill, but kill you depending on the severity of the allergy. Thank god my father and I don't go into anaphylactic shock with our allergy because this restaurant could have killed us and did not care. Overall, this place is unsanitary, unprofessional, and lacks the competence to ensure the health and safety of its customers. Please, do not go.

We have gone there more than 4 times. We have debit card transactions and photos that prove otherwise. We don't want anything from you and declined your offer to pay multiple times, but you insisted on paying. When we ordered meals, such as sushi, which did not come with mushrooms, we didn't have any issues. The times that we requested other meals, such as the Hibachi and soups without mushrooms, your establishment failed to follow the notes and make the dishes without mushrooms, or simply even say you couldn't make them without it. We don't need an entire ambulance for the reactions we have, but you should be more cautious for those who do. I do not appreciate you attempting to gaslight my family due to your lack of interest in the customers' allergies. My family simply wanted to enjoy a meal together, and all we left with were sour stomachs and hives. So, thank you for the accusations and threats, but if anyone has the reason for bringing the law into play here, it's us. Kindly do better as not only a business owner but a human being. You're not the only restaurant to have mushrooms on the menu, yet you're the only one who has persistently made my family...

I’m very allergic to mushrooms and every time I tell them please make sure there’s no mushrooms in my food. I also advise my waiter to circle that I have a mushroom allergy before they leave the table and today what happens I get a mushroom in my soup, and this is not the first time. I’m a person that understands that things happen but I’ve been back to this restaurant several times from the first time this happened and today WOW!!! I show the owner there’s a mushroom in my soup and he explained to me this isn’t the first time it happens and makes it out like if I did something so now I’m upset and I’m also worried about how I’m going to be extremely sick later and he just says it’s OK it’s OK it’s OK it’s OK it’s OK it makes it out like I did something and as I’m leaving with my wife and my daughter that met me up there he comes out and comes up to my vehicle and bangs on my vehicle yelling. You didn’t sign your receipt which I am in a panic at this point rushing to get home being prepared to be sick , find you I did say he was banging on the side of my truck. I could not believe this and then he started to proceed to take pictures of my vehicle like if I didn’t pay my bill which I paid with my credit card and the funds were already took it out. The signature would not make a difference. At this point I am not a person that would not pay my bill or ask for a refund , what to bring on my vehicle as I’m leaving again in a worry and a panic state of how sick I’m going to be and that I’m upset with the way I was treated please be advised don’t support this place and I’m all about supporting small businesses, but this is not one of them..
I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and my doctor along with my lawyer Monday morning.

Read moreOmizu is my new favorite Japanese restaurant in Cleveland! I've been here twice in a week's time. Both times I ordered carry-out. The hostesses have always been friendly and professional. My first visit, I ordered their hibachi lunch with steak, 2 clear soups, house salad and a sweet potato roll. Let me tell you... everything was cooked to perfection. The temperature of my steak was as I specified, the fried rice was flavorful and not greasy(and had egg!) and the veggies were tendercrisp and balanced between zucchini, broccoli, carrots, onions and mushrooms (I also appreciate that they didn't overload the serving with mushrooms and onions like many other restaurants do). The clear soup was filled to the top and perfectly umami. The salad was crisp and the dressing was gingery without being cloying. The sweet potato roll was perfectly prepared as the sweet potato was soft on the inside, but still had the crunch of the tempura. I also appreciate that they drizzled it withsauce which makes all the difference in taste and texture. The second time I ordered a chicken Tempura roll without caviar (I cannot eat raw fish due to health reasons), a sweet potato roll and clear soup. Again, perfection. The chicken was crisp and light, the avocado and cucumber nicely balanced the texture of the chicken. The other dishes were consistent as well. I'm looking forward to dining in on my next visit.
